Overview
This is a great tour for those who only want to spend a half-day out or are short on time. We visit two areas on this trip, Daintree River and Mossman Gorge.
We begin with a drive along the Captain Cook Highway, on the way to the Daintree River, and share a little history along the way.
Here, we board a cruise along the Daintree River, looking out for local wildlife, including the estuarine crocodile, snakes, birds, frogs, and more.
After the Wildlife Cruise, we enjoy morning tea with Lamingtons and tea/coffee.
Once in Mossman Gorge National Park, we conduct an interpretive walk along an elevated boardwalk. Weather dependent, we can enjoy a dip in the crystal-clear rainforest stream, whilst being surrounded by the beautiful and healing Mossman Gorge rainforest.

Pick-Up Information We provide pick-up directly from your Port Douglas accommodation. Alternatively, you can meet us at Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas or Club Mossman. Please select your preferred pick-up location when booking, or contact us at least 24 hours before your tour if you need to update your details. Pick-ups begin in the Port Douglas CBD from 7:25am. Please be ready outside your accommodation by this time. Depending on our schedule, we may arrive a few minutes later at your location. Important: We do not offer pick-ups from Cairns.

From the get go this tour was legendary. Mel the guide was brilliant, and got the bus chatting with each other. Her local and indigenous knowledge was brilliant

The Daintree was stunning, we saw crocs, snakes, birds, however the mangroves were the real stunners for me! Absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide on the river was exceptionally knowledgeable and fun. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer.
The Mossman gorge was majestic. Mel’s knowledge of the rainforest’s plant life and adaptations was vast. Her knowledge felt like a genuine interest and not just reciting facts.
We took three young kids on the tour and she accommodated them easily. She made the trip just as much fun for small folk as big folk.
A half day tour is perfect for small kids, but if you don’t have kids then do a full day tour. There is so much more to see and learn about.
I will definitely recommend this company. Loved it!

Ok experience but but the weather was poor and high tide . Tour guide said it’s highly unlikely you’ll see crocodile . We got to see a baby crocodile but I believe maybe the trip shouldn’t have gone ahead

Peer our driver was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave us plenty of information on route. Lucky to see 2 crocs on the river, before going to Mossman gorge for a dip in the spring water.

Such a great morning with a fabulous guide! It was amazing seeing the Daintree River, finding a couple of baby crocs and a tree snake, and then walking through the beautiful Mossman Gorge. It was too cool for the big crocs to be out of the water but that was okay and not in anyone’s control. Highly recommend!

Perfect trip! Boat ride to spot crocodiles followed by a trip to Mossman gorge to see rainforest and swim in the river. Just a small amount of hiking/walking.

Guide was a good host and very pleasant but experience was not good value. We paid over $600 CAD for a 5 person family. If we had done the two stops on our own it would have been less than $150. We would have been happy to pay a premium for the guiding and driving but not $450! The rainy weather didn't help finding wildlife in the forest or looking for crocs at high tide (why book tours at high tide?) but weather is out of the tour operator's control. In the end felt a bit ripped off.

I am very sorry to hear that you felt "ripped off" for your tour. We run tours at the best price that we can, and for the majority of people, they are very happy with them.
Obviously, we are running a business and do need to make a living as well. To give everyone a bit of an idea, out of the purchase price of a tour, we get about half of that after associated costs. Then out of that half, comes the costs of paying off the vehicles, running costs, and then wages. Just so you realise that it is not cheap to run these tours, but we do the very best we can to keep the prices down. I do agree that you could go out and do it yourself for cheaper, and have the stress of driving and organising everything yourself and not learning anything about the area. That option is always there for anyone that wants. I could also eat much cheaper at home, but sometimes it is nice to go out to dinner, but I do not expect the restaurant to do the meal just for the price of the food.
So once again, I am very sorry that you felt that our tours were not good value. I am glad though that you liked the guide.

Could have been the time of the year (March) but only one Croc seen and pretty boring to be truthful. On the other hand Mossman Gorge was the highlight of our entire stay. Put this on your bucket list and press repeat. Tour driver Erica was terrific.

Getting up close with nature. Seeing Daintree rainforest and Mossman gorge was the our best experience in Port Douglas… so beautiful!! This tour was so nice, everyone was helpful, our shuttle driver ?Graeme was excellent and even went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our morning tea with the delicious almond muffins 😍

Seeing the crocodiles was memorable. Even though it was a very rainy day, our driver Mel made the experience interesting and fun. Great half day trip, definitely worth doing. My grandson thought it was a terrific adventure.

The trip was too rushed. Felt like we were on a school journey. The guide was very knowledgeable but the Daintree river part of the trip was pointless due to the poor weather conditions and so we were rushing from one spot to another to fit everything in. Not really worth the money

This was a really nice day! Matthew was our guide and he provided alot of information and had a good sense of humor. We started on a nature cruise. Although we only saw one crocodile, it was a scenic cruise and enjoyable. We then went to Mossman Gorge and the forest. Matthew guided us through and provided interesting information. A really nice day!!

Kim was an excellent guide. Very knowledgable and a nice guy.
Only saw a couple of small crocs on the river cruise as the flooding has had a huge impact on the river banks, with most having been washed away or covered in broken / uprooted trees. Seeing flood damage was, in itself, an eye-opener!
They explained before the day that the Mossman Gorge was closed due to the flooding and replaced that part of the trip with a different rainforest walk (and allowed us to cancel if we wanted).
We stayed with the trip and really enjoyed it.
Experience would have been 5 stars if Mossman had been open.

A fantastic introduction to the Daintree, it’s history and natural mysteries. Outstanding guided tour from Mick who’s amazing knowledge made the trip an incredible learning experience. Despite going in poor conditions we had a brilliant time- would thoroughly recommend.
