Absolutely amazing our guide was a font of knowledge, Gave a great deal of history, information and great humour. The Daintree River/Gauge and Mossman National park are beautiful and opens your eyes to a rain forest that has not perished in 180 million years due to no ice age or volcanic eruptions.

Absolutely amazing our guide was a font of knowledge, Gave a great deal of history, information and great humour. The Daintree River/Gauge and Mossman National park are beautiful and opens your eyes to a rain forest that has not perished in 180 million years due to no ice age or volcanic eruptions.

We were excited to spend time exploring the Daintree rainforest but this tour started with a boat ride to look for crocs. We spent way too much time looking at nothing, we ended up seeing 1 baby croc the size of a lizard, not the tour operators fault but just could be omitted from this tour. Our lunch was at the welcome center cafeteria & was not good at all. We spent so much of the day doing everything but exploring the rainforest. We were rushed through once we got to the rainforest because we were almost out of time. If you are looking for a rainforest tour this is not it. No one on our tour seemed very happy. The rainforest itself was amazing & you don't need a tour, you can just do it yourself so you can go at your own pace.

Our cruise-ship shore tour is designed specifically to fit within the limited time available when ships visit Port Douglas. Because of this, the itinerary is carefully structured to showcase several highlights of the region in a single day, including the Daintree River, Mossman Gorge and the surrounding rainforest.
The wildlife cruise on the Daintree River is included as it offers guests the chance to experience the rainforest from a different perspective. As with any wildlife experience, sightings can vary from day to day — sometimes guests see several crocodiles and other wildlife, and other times sightings are more limited.
The tour follows the itinerary exactly as outlined in the booking information so that guests can experience a range of environments within the time available before returning to their ship.

We had a lovely day on the river trying to see crocodiles and walking in the rainforest including a delicious light lunch. Highly recommend. Our tour guide Kim was very informative.

This was a fantastic experience - Cam our tour guide was so knowledgeable and helpful throughout. The river cruise was a brilliant experience when we saw the patriarch croc, Scarface, two females and even two babies. Not to be missed. Then onto rain forest for another excellent part of the tour. Highly recommended 👌

Great experience. Be aware that there is an opportunity if conditions are safe, to enjoy a swim in the river. This was not noted on the Viator description but people who booked directly with the tour provider were aware of this.

Daintree River cruise to view crocodiles is a dependent on the crocs being found but we did see a baby croc and its mother. It was interesting to learn about mangroves and the crocodile habitat. Mossman Gorge was delightful and the group was able to swim in the refreshing clear river. Our tour guide was excellent imparting a lot of information and local insights about Port Douglas and the Daintree.

This is not quite true. This tour was not cancelled at all. We were waiting at the marina with every other guest on board. We then rang this guest, who at that point told us they were not coming. This was the first we heard that this was the case.
Later that evening we received an email saying that they were not happy. Apparently no phone reception. However, when our guide rang them, they answered their phone, so there must have been some reception. Other than that, an email would have also worked. No email was sent though, until the complaint one that evening.
When people book a seat, that seat is held for them. It is then unavailable for anyone else. If we have notice, we can re-sell that seat to someone else. Quite often we have waiting lists. If an effort is made then most times, a refund is given. Especially with these cruise ship tours, we are very aware that sometimes people cannot make the tour. Sometimes the cruise ships cancel, sometimes, it is too rough for the tender to get to shore. If this happens it is a full refund. But just to not turn up with no communication at all, and have everyone else waiting, is not the way to get that refund. We definitely did what we could for these guests including contacting them to make sure that they weren't just running late.
