We had a fantastic day. Our guide, Ben, was absolutely brilliant and so informative - my 12 year old son said he’s now 10% smarter after spending the day with Ben! We covered several locations and Ben kept us entertained the whole journey with interesting facts. Definitely recommend this experience!

It was a great experience! John, our guide, was amazing (also good party tips). We had an amazing time around the rainforest: checked all the key points, took 10/10 pictures, even saw a cassowary (didn’t know about them before that tour lol). Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience on this tour. Our guide, Tommy, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and interactive throughout the day, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable. He shared so many interesting facts and stories, and his passion for the area really stood out. Visiting the Daintree Rainforest known as the world’s oldest rainforest was absolutely spectacular. The scenery was breathtaking, and it felt amazing to be surrounded by such ancient natural beauty. Overall, it was a well organised and memorable tour. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the region and looking for a meaningful and enriching experience.

Great day visiting The Rainforest & Mossman Gorge. Super knowledgeable guide in Dale who kept us entertained all day.

Today was a small group of 10, and our guide—who also acted as the driver—kept introducing the history of Douglas and the Daintree Rainforest along the way. At each stop, we were given time to explore on our own. I accidentally left two pairs of sunglasses at the lunch spot, and the guide kindly arranged for someone to bring them to the next stop and hand them to me. I thought I would lose those two pairs of glasses, since the tour didn’t double back.

A nice pathway walk and tour bus through daintree and mossman gorge. Includes a light breakfast and lunch.

A great day in the rainforest

Absolutely brilliant day out. Ben, our guide, was just excellent. Knowledgable and funny, Ben is clearly passionate about Daintree, its ecology and more widely the Port Douglas area and wider Australia. We learned so much and saw things we would have missed if we had done it on our own. Plenty opportunity for photos, coffee and lunch were included which were both good. We would highly recommend this trip

Def worth it

Ben was a very knowledgeable kind tour guide who really enjoys what he’s doing. We had 8 participants on his particular tour. Adjustments were made to bring lunch forward due to thunder, lightning and rain, and have the boat tour afterwards. Due to the change in weather, the boat tour was cut to half an hour instead of an hour. It was start of the wet season, and we didn’t spot any crocodiles, this is more the case in the cooler months. It was all well organised. Despite the change in weather, the tour was still very enjoyable and unique.

Overall this tour was great. There is a lot of time spent driving in the van, however our tour guide Ben was excellent!! He was super personable and experienced. He consistently demonstrated his wealth of local knowledge between the many (~7) stops. The walking was relatively easy with minimal stairs.

Guide was incredible, sights were stunning — but we needed more time

David_M, Aug 2025
This tour was definitely worth the price, thanks to our phenomenal guide Ben. He was extremely interesting and kind and funny and a great driver (which we also really appreciated!) The tour covered all the key sights in Daintree Rainforest, and we felt like we got to see lots. Our only real disappointment was that it was a bit quick at a couple of the stops (one of the beaches and the Mossman Gorge). We’d have loved an extra 30 minutes at each spot. I know the tour was already a long day for our guide, but an extra 30 - 60 minutes would have gone a long way to helping us feel completely fulfilled. We were also a little disappointed to learn that the tour operator bought a new bus (Mercedes Sprinter — our tour was the first in the new van), which held 14 people… three more than the “max 11” we were initially told when we booked.

Awesome.

Amazing day and experience. Ben, our tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Thank you for an amazing day. :)

Alexander_H, Apr 2025
It covers a bit of everything and fits quite a lot in. Not a lot in depth, but enough to get an idea about the rainforest.

Disappointing - the itinerary was changed without notice

Roger_S, Feb 2025
We had a pleasant day visiting various rainforest sites, but overall the tour was quite disappointing because the tour did not include three activities that were on the itinerary that we purchased. There was no visit to the Jindalba Boardwalk, no Daintree River Cruise Centre (river tour), and no Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas. We hadn't received any notice that the itinerary had changed or any offer to book a different tour - the itinerary was simply different than what was originally booked. It was particularly disappointing that we didn't go to the Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas, and we didn't have a chance to see it on our own due to our travel schedule. At least, I will give some credit to Viator, who responded to my complaint message and provided a modest, partial refund.

Edmund_S, Feb 2025
Steve was a great historian. We learned a lot about the area. He was also an excellent botanist. He showed us some things that we would have missed in just walking down the trail. We lucked out on the weather as we only got rain at the very end of our trip. This was the rainy season so we expected to have rain all day, but we were fortunate. We had a very nice hot lunch and break in the middle of the trip. This was an excellent experience and Steve deserves a lot of credit for all that he did to inform us about Australia and the Daintree rainforest. I highly recommend this excursion.

Daintree Half Day Tour | Ben Tour Guide

Marc_F, Jan 2025
Our host Ben was awesome, We booked the Mossman Gorge Daintree half day tour. The weather was beautiful and both spots are incredible. Thank you Ben for taking us on an incredible adventure and for the delicious lunch you provided. Ben is also very knowledgeable and informative. Highly recommend!

Highest Accolades to tour guide Steve.

salaslisa, Jan 2025
Tour guide Steve was the ultimate. His knowledge, humor, attentiveness and entertainment A1. The day was action packed and informative. What we learnt certainly expanded the importance of preservation of nature and fauna. Recommend the tour to all ages. Thank you, Daintree Adventures.

Glad we did this tour

CORINA_B, Dec 2024
Steve took us on a wonderful tour of the rainforest. He was very knowledgeable and also shared with us a bit of Australia’s history in a funny and entertaining way. Lunch and the ice cream stop were tasty (go with an exotic flavor- you won’t be sorry)

Amazing Tour!

Jane_B, Dec 2024
A fantastic tour with Steve. One of the most knowledgeable guys I have ever met. A must do tour!. Steve explained everything from start to finish. Such a friendly welcoming guy. Mossman Gorge was amazing to see. We then went on to crocodile spotting and were lucky enough to see them. Also visited Wonga beach. Tea/coffee, rolls, cake, fruit were all supplied for you. A really fabulous tour and can't recommend it enough. Thank you so much, Jane and Paul.

Enjoyed the Full Day

Donna_H, Dec 2024
Our guide Steve was informative and willing to answer any questions. We had a small group which was perfect for this kind of trip. Pick up was on time. We learned about the origins of the area, the history of the original people as well as the settlers and slaves that came next. We talked about past and current conditions. Seeing the worlds oldest rainforest was interesting. Our stop for tea and cakes was very nice and the treats were delicious and fresh. It was a beautiful spot near the ocean. The lunch was a messy sandwich given to us on the bus….that was a bust - mine ended up in the garbage. We opted to include the stop at the Habitat. We enjoyed seeing the animals as some roamed around the space. Great for photos. Steve met us at the agreed upon time to take us back o our apartment. You could do this yourself, but without a car this trip was perfect for us. Natural wonders and a history lesson made for a great day.
