Overview

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, consider this comprehensive PADI certification course in Playa del Carmen. The three-day program includes classroom training, two pool dives, two cenote dives, and two open water dives in the Caribbean Sea. Trainings take place in the mornings, leaving plenty of time to explore more of the area in the afternoon and evenings. I have been wanting to do the PADI Open Water certification for years. After a few "club dives" with minimal training, I took the plunge this year in Playa Del Carmen with Andrey at Diversland. What an amazing experience! Andrey is the most patient, kind and credible instructor. We spent many hours practicing the skills necessary to be a comfortable and proficient diver. I not only feel great and safe underwater, but I made a friend I look forward to diving with again.

Julia is an absolute gem! Her love of diving and the underwater world shine through in her teaching and enthusiasm. She was very helpful in repeating theory and quizzing us along the way to ensure we were both learning. We both felt safe and comfortable the entire time and are confident we chose the right diving school to become PADI Open Water Diver certified. Thanks to both Julia and Serge (quiet but great sense of humor) of Diversland for an unforgettable first time diving experience!! We will be back for sure!

Patrick is an amazing teacher with a lot of experience and some amazing stories to tell. This guy has done everything and I felt very safe under his instructions. We also had very rough weather but still managed to do it.

I was very nervous going into this, but Patrick was amazing! He was very patient and encouraging and made me feel like I had all the time in the world to master the skills necessary to get certified. He also made me feel very safe during the actual dives, sticking right by me in case I panicked. By the end of the course, I was enjoying myself and very proud that I got my certification in spite of my fears. I honestly don't know if I would have passed without such a great instructor.

I am so thrilled I picked Open Water Diver course PADI in Playa del Carmen instead of anywhere else. Incredibly helpful, friendly, willing to answer all of your questions, and work with you from where your at. Their encouragement and ability to explain things removed any anxiety I had about diving. They're able to walk you through the basics up through advanced maneuvers when you feel comfortable. They made the test a breeze and their explanations of things made the test a breeze. I've never had more fun learning, and walked away with a certification and some great videos from class! How may places can give you that?

Scuba diving in casa cenote with Pancho the crocodile. If you’re in Playa Del Carmen, Diversland is definitely the place to get certified! The instructors really go above and beyond to ensure your safety and a good time diving. I can’t say enough positive things about them.

I’ve been a certified diver since 1997, but had to get re-certified due to SDI losing all my diving records. I decided to go with PADI this final time. Both Demitre and Patrick were very knowledgeable, safe and experienced Dive Master/Instructors, but also knew the surrounding dive areas very well. Where else can you see Crocodiles and Bull sharks on a check out dive? I had a great time even though I was repeating several skills and practices, but I hadn’t dove in 3 years so I was due a refresher course. I would recommend this outfit and plan on returning for some future dives next year.

I would recommend this experience to everybody, as it was above my expectations. The price is cheaper than in hotels (150 USD less) but the quality is definitely superior. The instructor was very helpful and able to transmit his enthusiasm and made us feel comfortable in every moment. The transportation from the hotel is perfect and convenient. I feel that in 3 days I became truly able to dive and I would always remember the amazing diving sessions in the wonderful Caribbean reef, plenty of corals and fishes.

The staff at Diversland Scuba Shop (Patrick and Alex) had provided outstanding class and open water instruction. He worked at your pace and until your were comfortable performing each task as you progressed through the course.
