An uplifting trip

This trip visits the 2 Islands, Contoy was my favorite because of the birds, iguanas and hermit crabs. Due to the weather there was no snorkling which was fine as I wasn't going to partisipate. I have to say as the only English person on the trip and typically English I don't speak other languages I was slightly worried, but there was no problem as my fellow passengers (particularly the trois amigos from Bolivia) and the crew made for a delightful day. The wind was bad and the boat rolled, but everyone was singing along to the music and the crew were dancing. Thank you all so much, you made what could have been scarey magical and uplifting.

It was a fun and beautiful day. On the boat there was enough to drink, it was also served and the food was also good. It is definitely worth visiting the island. Isla Contoy has a great beach, many animals and the Caribbean feeling is also given. The crew on board will ensure a great atmosphere and fun.

Zu wenig Zeit zum Geniessen, schlechter englischsprachiger Guide

Begonnen hat die Tour, indem der Busfahrer 30 Minuten zu spät kam und sich nicht entschuldigte. Die Fahrt von Playa del Carmen dauert viel zu lange, da viele weitere Menschen am Weg abgeholt werden. Im Bus hat der Guide nur mit einem einzigen Paar permanent spanisch gesprochen. Alle anderen wurden ignoriert. Ich habe die englischsprachige Tour gebucht. Es wurde aber den ganzen Tag über lediglich spanisch gesprochen, die englischen Erklärungen gab es immer nur auf Nachfrage, oder im Anschluß auf lange spanische Erzählungen sehr kurz angebunden und unwillig. Auf der Isla Mujeres hatten wir 60 Minuten Zeit, was viel zu kurz ist und stresst, da man dauernd auf die Uhr schauen muss. Mujeres ist eine Touristeninsel, aber hübsch, man sollte sie alleine besuchen. Die Insel Contoy ist ein unbewohntes Naturparadies, von dem man aber nur einen einzigen Strand sieht, wo auch gegessen wird. Der Strand ist ein Traum und wir blieben inkl. Essen 2 Stunden. Das war das einzige Highlight des Tages! Das Schnorcheln am Riff ist anstrengend, da am offenen Meer starker Seegang herrscht und wir haben kaum Fische gesehen. Nach der Bootsfahrt zurück, gehts dann wieder 2 Stunden lang im Bus zurück nach Playa, eine Strecke, für die man mit dem Auto max. 40 Minuten benötigt. Vielleicht kann man die Tour besser geniessen, wenn man von Cancun aus startet, aber die Guides versagen völlig, da es keine englischen Erklärungen gibt, ja man muss sogar um Übersetzung bitten, wenn ein Treffpunkt erklärt wird......
