A great way to explore a few different vineyards without having to drive and be able to enjoy the local produce. Our driver, Pete, was great - friendly and able to answer our questions/advise on what would be best for our day. Good local knowledge and answered lots of our questions about New Zealand. All stops ran very close to the schedule and there’s a good variety of stops to suit everyone.

Hop on this one right away!! Fabulous views of the countryside. For a non-wine person, I was pleased there were lots of other appealing stops. The Blue Penguin is a very cute shop and prices better than other places for same merch. Grab a pizza and Speights beer at the Keg & Cork. Excelleny food and great patio. Leave room for the confection shop. The toffy is to die for and staff gives free samples. The Villages was a delight. This was the only place on my trip that had a fabric shop. Lots of fat quarters going home with me!! All in all a perfect day!

Easy way to see area with time allowed by cruise ship. We wanted to do a small amount of shopping. It worked but was limited. Stopped for a fun lunch at the Cork and Keg. Great pizza. Saw vineyard areas

We had booked this activity well ahead, but received very confusing emails 3 days prior to our booked date of 10th December.
The emails, which included details of font and margin sizes as well as other irrelevant information stated that due to the business at this time we would have to contact the wineries to book ahead.
We decided to cancel. Our booking information stated that we could cancel up to 24 hours prior to the booked time.
We rang the Hop On Hop Off office. We were told that they needed 4 weeks notice of cancellation and that we would have to send an email to Viator.
We had no internet access in our location near Wellington and were unable to do so.
We visited the Hop On Hop Off office in Picton once we arrived, Friday 9th December. We were told that the Saturday tour was cancelled due to low numbers!!!
We were offered Sunday 11th, but we were continuing with our planned travel and had bookings in Kaikoura.
We were then offered a voucher to be used within the next 4 years, either by us or we could gift it!!!
We live in Australia and have no family or friends in NZ.
We mentioned that we were travelling to Queenstown and had the option of booking there. We did so reluctantly.
Following a letter of complaint we have received a refund of $146.84
Our cost for the tour was $156.95.
We're not sure why we didn't receive the full refund!

Sorry this is completely untrue you were always told you could have a refund. You did not go on the hoho and were given a refund 100% If you had read the information prior on the site you would see that due to Christmas and having any common sense you should book places as I told you when you came. Again you were given a full refund. Mr Geoff Stewart you also received an email on the 1st of August and 2nd but never bothered to open it! which was months prior! Thanks HOHO

Highly recommend this tour! The driver was friendly and full of great recommendations; he even took us to the chocolate factory at the end as a bonus so we could make the most of the vineyards.
It's a well-structured tour that you can really make your own! Each stop was at least 45 mins which was a nice amount of time to do a tasting, grab some food, and/or take some photos.
The customer service before the trip was excellent too. I somehow managed to book a date that the tour wasn't running on Viator. The Hop On, Hop Off company texted me within an hour to let me know and booked me onto the next tour.
