We pick up from all central Blenheim or central Picton accommodations subject to availability. If your hotel/ accommodation is not listed then Specify your address - If it is outisde our pick up area there may be a surcharge applicable. The tour departs Picton at 12.30 pm (12pm Winter - May- Oct), and 1pm Blenheim (12.30 in winter May - Oct) If the time slot for your pick up location is not available that means we are already fully booked for your location. DO NOT book this tour if you are arriving on the Interislander ferry at 12.15 as you won't make it in time. DO NOT book this tour if you are on a cruise ship, as it is unlikely that your timings will work for this tour. - Check with us first.
Itinerary
After an early afternoon pickup from your Picton or Blenheim accommodation, travel in a comfortable climate-controlled minivan to the Marlborough wine region.
Along the way, your guide shares informative commentary about the region as the scenic landscape of vineyards and hills rolls by the window. Stop at four of Marlborough’s top wineries to sample wines such as pinot noir, sauvignon blanc, pinot gris, and riesling varietals. Stroll through the vineyards and learn more about New Zealand wines.
Your tour ends with hotel drop-off in the early evening.

- If you are arriving on the Interislander ferry which arrives at 12.15 you won't make the tour.. If you are on the Bluebridge that arrives at 1145 you should be on time for the tour.
- Pick ups start up to 15 minutes prior to tour start time. Please check your messages for updated pick up time
- Please ensure you Choose the correct tour option 12.30 pm for the Picton Tour or 13.00 for the Blenheim tour ( they are priced and timed differently)
- If you are arriving by cruise ship you need to book a shore excursion tour, or check with us first to ensure timings will be ok.
- There is no lunch stop on this tour, you may be able to purchase a light snack along the way
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 11 travelers

Had such a lovely wine tour experience thanks to Gavin our tour guide/driver, sommeliers of all cellars we visited, and small tour group. Such a good introduction to white wines (as my partner and I usually drink reds). Props to the growing Marlborough Wine industry! Will definitely bring some bottles of Sauvs and Riesling for family and friends to try back home in the Philippines :)

Fabulous experience and crew! Gavin was incredibly knowledgeable and shared willingly with the group. Each of the chosen wineries suited the group, would do this tour again.

A really great trip. Our host Glenn was superb and really helped to bring the group together. The only downside was the stop for the sparkling wines which was rushed and really not informative. My wife was served flat bubbles which was not good. The other venues were welcoming and contributed to a great trip.
Maybe drop the sparkling wine venue from the rota.

Some lovely wineries visited and a great, friendly group from uk. Germany and France. Both tour leader and driver were very knowledgeable about the area and gave some great tips on other places we will be visiting.

Hamish was a wonderful tour leader. He saw to the needs of all participants and arranged for a lunch at one of the wineries.
Fromm winery was by far the best of the 4 we visited.

Wine tour was great The day before the tour however, the operator contacted us and said it would be an additional $40 because we were traveling from Picton. It is advertised from Picton and we paid for the tour 2 months ago. We have never had this happen with Viator before.

HI Gail, thanks for your review. There are two product options on this tour as stated in the description - one from Picton and another from Blenheim. You choose the Blenheim tour option and pick up time - possibly becuaes the Picton option wasn't available as we weren't operating it that day due to the cruise ship in. Luckily we were able to rearrage and offer you pick up as you had booked so long ago and we didn't want to dissappoint you.
Unfortuantely with hundreds of bookings coming in for the busy summer season we don't always see that your pick up location is different to the tour that you have booked so we apologise for that.

We had a very good time doing something a little unusual for us. Our guide Phil was very informative and fun. The wineries were all very different, and each was glad to have us visit. The timing for the wine and travel was well organized. And Phil helped get a non-alcoholic option for me. The weather was perfect and we had fun meeting new people. It was a great day.

Phil, our driver & guide was very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the interaction with the group. The four wineries we visited gave us fabulous tastes of their wines and their commentary was very informative. A very enjoyable experience.

Gavin the tour guide was the amazing ingredient in this special trip. He went out of his way to accomodate and every need. His knowledge of the wine industry in the area is extensive and he gave us tips on what to look for, smell and taste as we toured 4 vineyards. He got on well with everyone in our party and because of Gavin, we all gelled as a group and had a supper time. The lunch at St Clair was great, the young couples from the UK and Germany were adventure lovers and loved the wines as much as us. The day was great, Gavin went above and beyond all day. Next time we are in the Marlborough region, we will book another tour as long as its with Gavin as our guide !!!!

We had a fantastic day. Paula was our guide and she was fabulous. Nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy and included. Paula had a lovely rapport with all the wineries that we visited which made our day really special. I would highly recommend doing this tour.

thanks for your review, it's unfortunate that on Cruise Ship days the volume of people in the region does make it very hard for some of the wineries to cater to the the numbers even when we have prebooked. The challenges of strong tourism when we have staffing shortages are something we do our best to mitigate but in this case we did get caught out. Thanks Jess

We really enjoyed this tour. Another couple was also on our tour so there were only four of us. Sam was an outstanding guide. He was very informative. We learned a great deal, not only about the vineyards but also about the region. We visited four vineyards, including large and very small estates, and experienced some wonderful wines.

Would definitely recommend this wine tour. Picked up from our motel and commentary on board from a great guide. Visited 4 different wineries which all had different wines to taste and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful views and really enjoyed the small group atmosphere. Would suggest eating lunch beforehand! My wife and I departed Picton. Vehicle arrived punctually and we met Keith our guide. As a grape grower Keith was able to talk from experience about the wine industry, viticulture and share views about wine making. He kindly went out of his way to explain cane vs spur pruning. The wineries we visited gave a great experience. We enjoyed the 5 1/2 hours thoroughly. Good wine, conversion and learning. Only suggestion for the wineries was maybe a few little crackers or some type of food would have balanced the wine consumption.
