Itinerary

Begin with pickup at your Phuket hotel at 8am, where you’ll meet a personal driver/guide, then leave the resorts behind as you travel to the lesser-known, eastern side of the island. Trace scenic beach roads through Patong, Karon, Kata, and Rawai, passing uncrowded viewpoints by the Andaman Sea.

Upon arrival at Phuket town, you’ll tour its historic neighborhoods with your guide, stepping back into the years when rubber and tin merchants ruled the island, founding Sino-Thai dynasties that still dominate the economies of southern Thailand.

See classic examples of Indo-Portuguese mansions left by the Chinese tin and rubber barons who helped build up the island of Phuket, and learn the stories of the Chinese Malaysians who came to Thailand to discover mineral deposits. Phuket Town is also home to some of the island’s most charming galleries, cafes, and boutiques: take advantage of this private tour to explore the places that interest you most, with tips from your guide on the best places to see.

Visit a local restaurant for lunch before making the return trip to your hotel, where this tour concludes.
