We were fortunate to have a small group so it felt like a private tour. Our guide, Peter was super! He was professional, entertaining, and knowledgeable.. All of the eateries we visited were fantastic. He also gave us information that related to certain historic facts which made it even more fun. I would definitely recommend this tour and if you can request Peter, do so!

Highlights of Gilbert Arizona restaurant tastings

Julie_T, Mar 2026
The meeting place was very easy to find. The route of restaurants visited was thoughtfully planned with everything set up and ready to go for a party of 15. Danielle our tour operator got everyone to get to know each other with finding where we were from and our best last meal. She also did a good job of explaining the history of the town of Gilbert.

Peter is the man!

Great experience. The guide (Peter) was knowledgeable, engaging and clearly passionate about the city history and culture. He took us to some amazing restaurants and shops which gave the tour a more personal and authentic touch.

Awesome Food Tour!

It was awesome! Peter and James were great guides and ensured everything was setup before we arrived. Thank you both for being so accommodating and great guides!

Lots of food. Come hungry.

Laura_B, Nov 2025
The experience was fun and the food was good. We learned some interesting stories about the area. That was good but I would have liked to learn more about the food we were eating and how that food represents Phoenix.

Phoenix food tour

Peter was an excellent guide and the food was great. I would recommend to anyone interested in exploring Phoenix.

Fun and tasty!

Great tour - very informative and fun. The group was small and we had such a nice time together. Food was excellent and varied.

Fun, Phoenix, Food Tour

Great trip to downtown Phoenix to learn more about it and eat great food. Lots of food and a chance to meet new people.

This was a wonderful tour...

Julia_U, Feb 2025
This was a wonderful tour that included the history of some of the buildings we passed, and unusual facts about Phoenix. The stops for food were delightful. My favorite was the bread at the Italian restaurant. This is well worth the money.

highly recommend!

Christie_P, Feb 2025
excellent communication and planning, great stories and info provided on the tour, outstanding food stops with unique decor and themes at each stop, plenty of food! i’ve been on several of these tours in many states and this one was one of the best! also - phoenix is a very clean city with very few homeless. i think we saw 3 and one was being pushed out by police so they have a good handle on it unlike other big cities. super fun vibe, friendly people! such a great tour and visit!

A bit disappointing

Jessica_H, Feb 2025
Leader was very good and we learned a lot about the neighborhood. Choices in the selection of food was quite unusual. Expected food related to the area. Instead had a weird assortment of tastes. Doughnuts? Thai food?

A must do for sure .

Heather_R, Jan 2025
I think good tours are great especially when you have a good guide and places that you go are delicious . This tour had both . The places we went was good and tasty food especially the Cornish pasty . The best was the cactus cloud though as the owner played music for us and even sat and chatted with us after most of the group Left . Peter our guide was good . Friendly and certainly full of information . The only thing I don’t like about tours like these is they are in a strict schedule and sometimes you feel rushed . When you are getting along with the other group Participants or really enjoying the atmosphere of one place , you want a little more time . We stopped at a donut shop which was all that great but a donut is a donut but I wanted an ice coffee and ordered one . Only took not even 5 minutes to get it and put my sugar in it and I felt like I was being told we were about to miss a train leaving . We were only going 5 minutes down the street . I could have caught up . But again, I understand time is money with these tours plus everything g is planned out

Peter was amazing and...

Peter was amazing and very knowledgeable about the history of Phoenix. I learned several facts about Phoenix that I didn't know

Great experience and fun!

John_G, Jan 2025
You can expect an informative tour of a segment of downtown Phoenix with some decent food. Our guide, Peter, did a great job guiding our group of 12 from place to place. He also interjected some interesting history into a nice narrative. Margaritas at our first stop were very good and helped facilitate some good conversation and interaction amongst our group, which included folks from their 20s to 70s. A great way to meet people. In terms of food, we enjoyed the pasties the most.

A fantastic food tour

Candace_C, Jan 2025
This was so fun! I think most people will enjoy this. I did this as a solo traveler, but there was also a family, some couples, and some small friend groups. I enjoyed all the places we went. I also like that they fit in a bit of the city's history and culture into the tour. We had two tour guides: a woman who was clearly a more experienced tour guide and a man who seemed to be still learning the ropes. Hopefully, with more practice, he'll feel more knowledgeable and confident. But, obviously, the focus is the food. And it was all delicious!

Fun, Full Time!!

Travis_G, Dec 2024
Jessica and Peter were great, very knowledgeable about the area and great stories. The taco was our favorite, but the Pasty was a great new food we’d never had before. And the donuts, OMG!!!

Host was great, food was amazing

Dave_M, Apr 2024
I thought the best part of the experience was meeting new people and sharing other food tours. The host Noah was great at pointing out other food and hotel history. Had a great time looking to do it again.

Decent

Joey_G, Mar 2024
Food tour was decent; however, for the price, I think a better selection of restaurants would have helped. Guide was energetic. Have no big complaints, but just average in comparison to other walking food tours I’ve done in the past.

DT Phoenix tour, good, but could be so much better.

Anonymous, Mar 2024
The first stop at "Chico Malo" was fabulous. Next time we are in Phoenix, we are definitely stopping back there. "Thia Basil" was very good. I think there was too much food. Definitely scratch the doughnut shop as then there was a very good shepard's pie and ice cream! Of all the European food tours we have taken, none of the guides ever read a blurb from sheets of paper! I did enjoy all of the architectural insights and stories about old Phoenix.

Our joyful tireless tour...

Helen_G, Jan 2024
Our joyful tireless tour lady who took great care of us with a great sense of humor, kindness and tales about ghosts in downtown Phoenix.

So-So

Mary_H, Feb 2020
Food was okay but not good enough for amount we paid. Guide was so-so. He talked to the people next to him and forgot about the others.

Response from Host, Mar 2020

Mary, I am so sad to hear that your experience was so-so. We usually only hear about how enjoyable it is and how great the food is on the tour. We will talk with our guide to make sure he is going above and beyond as a tour guide & gets a chance to talk with each & every one during the tour. We also want to continue to showcase amazing food with a variety of restaurants including Thai food, so if there was something particular that stood out that you did not like please reach out to me personally, I would love the feedback.

Would recommend

PerriandTim, Feb 2020
Great way to see downtown. Our guide was informative. Got to see some historical buildings. Great food and plenty of it. No need for dinner!

Response from Host, Mar 2020

We love it when guests walk away full! Phoenix is stuffed with its own unique history and we are happy to know it was a great experience for you. Thanks for your review!

Walk Eat and Drink

mmbartz16, Feb 2020
First of all we had a gorgeous day with perfect temperatures for walking! Our guide Trey was friendly outgoing and enthusiastic about sharing vast amounts of information with our group, not only about the food establishments but so many interesting facts and stories about Phoenix's history. I wish each restaurant had given us a small menu to remember where we were! Thai Basil was our favorite food stop! All the drinks and food were fabulous!

Highly recommended
