Overview

Trek through the rainforest to Praia do Sono (Sono Beach) on this full-day guided tour from Paraty. Set out from Laranjeiras Village through the leafy jungle filled with native plant and animal life, learning about the area's history and natural resources from your experienced hiking guide along the way. After about an hour, reach Praia do Sono to relax and swim during several hours' free time before hiking back to your starting point.

Itinerary

Meet your guide and group at the designated meeting point and board your comfortable vehicle for the ride to Larajeiras Village.

Disembark and start your trek through the forest to the beach. Pass through a preserved area of the rainforest under the protection of the AIPA do Cairuçu (Cairuçu Environmental Protection Area). Your guide will point out different native flora and fauna; keep your eyes open for toucans and monkeys along the way.

After about an hour's walk, emerge on the powdery sand and crystal-clear water of Praia do Sono (Sono Beach). Grab a cold beer or a snack at one of the local beach restaurants (own expense) as a reward for your jungle trek. Spend several hours romping in the gentle waves and relaxing on the warm sand, soaking up the sun's rays and enjoying the idyllic scenery.

Trek back to Laranjeiras Village, then transfer to your vehicle for drop-off back at the original departure point.
