This was my best experience in Jamaica. This was also my first time riding a horse so I was very nervous however the tour guides Xavier and Jermaine made me feel comfortable and helped me along the way. They were both so friendly and knew so much about all the horses as they grew them from when they were babies! They also took loads of pictures of me and my boyfriend at no extra charge. I would 1000% recommend Reggae horseback as it was such an amazing experience!!!

The tour was fine and the guides weren’t very friendly but our taxi driver, Fedther was the worse. Rude, horrible attitude and begging for items at the local store. He even tried to force us to go Rick’s Cafe even though we told him we weren’t interested. NEVER using that transportation service again.

Company never arrived to pick us up for our confirmed and paid for excursion on Saturday, February 7, 2026. We reached out via phone and the Viator app and never heard from them. Waited for over 30 minutes.

They never came to pick me up, save your money. Do not book with this company. I even called the number listed and no one picked up. If I could give zero stars I would. I booked this horseback riding on the beach as an early birthday gift to myself and they ruined it and make it almost impossible for a refund. Do yourself a favor and find another company. Terrible

I never got to do the activity lol. The operator claimed that it was lightning and rain outside so we couldn’t do the activity. I want my money back, pick up was supposed to be at 3 PM, I didn’t get an answer until 3:30 PM.

We had arranged the night before to get picked up between 2.15 / 2.30, at 3pm we were still waiting. When my partner called, Paul said can you not just come tomorrow instead. We said no so he said he will send a taxi to pick us up at 3.45, at 4 pm and nearly 2 hours waiting the taxi turned up. Once we got there the experience was very good until we went into the ocean, the horses looked scared and reluctant to enter the ocean so the guide scared them with a stick, shocking customer service and would not recommend

2:30pm-3:40 is one (1) hour & 10 minutes. ( Not two hours waiting).
Like any business sometimes we run late-traffic, accident, flat tire, bad weather Etc.
Yes the pickup usually starts at 2:30pm and the driver had a flat tire on his way to your Royalton Hotel . The evening tour does not start until til 3:30pm even though it’s 3:00pm because most times we have to wait on other buses, or guest who lost their way, or they they just late. So we know that the start is really approximately 3:30pm and so no grave concern. Yes we had to arrange for a private taxi to get you at 3:30/3:45pm but you had a private tour with a private guide and that is not the same cost, no extra cost to you. We apologized. The private tour is awesome. Shaded trail ride to the beach, one mile of beach ride and then our ocean swim where the guide will do unlimited photos & videos. We refused your refund request because you got the full tour as per our service. Unlimited free photos & videos and you had no tip for the guide and that’s ok. That’s what we do for all our guest.
We appreciate your visit and we wish you both safe travels and we would certainly be delighted to see you again visiting our beautiful Jamaica where we once were apart of your country until independence 1962. You must call or email to confirm the day prior, otherwise they will inadvertently cancel your reservation. I thought this was strange.

Thank you for your review. We will never cancel your reservation if you didn’t call, email or text us Before tour date. We would just like to know you have arrived at your hotel and will be ready for pickup. Whenever a reservation is made online, many times for many years drivers would be sent to the hotel where the guest said they would be staying. Many times guest will change hotels, cancelled flights, persons got sick at the hotel, got drunk the night before and could not wake up for their tour, some persons change their mind, fell down at hotel, hurt their hand, twist ankle, etc etc etc. I explained this to this guest and this was very much understood we thought and that things happen between the date they made the reservation and the actual date of their tour that they booked. It’s quite logical that life has these surprises and sometimes we over-indulge the night before a tour. So to be safe and cautious to save time for the other guest in the bus/transport, we prefer to let customers know that it’s much better if we get an email, text, phone call, message through the online booking facility. Etc. Or whatever means of communication so that the drivers know which guest will be ready at the designated pickup spots. It’s not fair to have others sitting in a bus in the lobby while you are still asleep.

This is an amazing horseback tour!! Paul is such an amazing owner and Xavier was the best tour guide ever!! My wife and I felt like we not only had our dreams come true experiencing a horseback riding trip together on the beaches of Jamaica, but we also felt the experience of what real Jamaica is like too, away from the touristy areas!!
I cannot say enough good things about this company and they are trust worthy people!!! I definitely recommend this tour to all tourists coming to the Negril and/or Green Island part of Jamaica. My wife and I are staying at the Princes Senses Mangrove, which is a little further away from Negril, but the owner, Paul, still came and picked us up and took us back with no extra fees. Also, the tour guide will take a lot of pictures for you and will not charge you at all for them. Xavier, who was our guide and took all of our pictures, is a professional photographer too, and the pictures turned out so beautiful… my wife and I now have so many pictures as memories from our amazing and scenic horseback riding trip along the beaches of Jamaica!!! I booked the day before thru Viator. The agent put me on hold to verify availability. Then she called a 2nd time when I wanted to confirm I could be picked up outside their normal area. The Viator agent confirmed it. I sent the required email to the operator by 6pm that night.
My pick up was at 11:30 for a noon ride. I went to the gate at 11:20 & waited 35 minutes. No show.
About noon I received an email stating that the noon ride was full. (Communication in Jamaica can be tricky, but Viator could have called me. He said “you must book the 3pm ride”. Well, it was Christmas Day & I had dinner plans. All other operators didn’t have rides at 1 or 2pm. So my Christmas was spent alone, doing nothing.
Were they really full? Wouldn’t Viator told me that while I was on the phone? I’m suspicious. I think they no-showed b/c they didn’t want to drive that far to pick me up, even though I offered to pay.
Look at reviews. I’m not the only one this has happened to.

We apologize for your disappointment. Firstly though, we accept many avenues of traffic. Viator is NOT the only one (1) Avenue for our online business. We have other online partners. We also have many tour operators in Jamaica and around the world that book guest daily. Many of whom are private rides which requires private guides and is very personalized and tailored to each clients ( private) group’s request. On that day, the tour was full but you didn’t respond to the email that was sent via the viator messaging avenue. That information was sent to you far before pickup time at 11:30am. Also, if the pickup time was 11:30am at your hotel for the 12:00noon riding time, why were you at the gate at 11.20am, knowing that we had already sent you an emailed to which you hadn’t checked. Our gate is kept close and locked for security purposes once the tour is full. We don’t allow persons to be on properly unless they are supposed to be there for a particularly start time-hence the 12:00 noon tour was already full from all the other walk-ins, online avenues, tour operators, hotel tour /front desk, etc. so now that we have explained the many other options of “ why the tour can be full WITHOUT VIATOR CHANNEL”, you can clearly see that viator cannot be privy to “ our tour being full and would not have known. we can only advise you base on tour being full the night before your tour and we cannot confirm that “ EVERYONE WILL SHOW UP”? If all reservations show up, then the tour is full/paid and we could not have known that early enough to give earlier feedback. However, this does happen and we are truly sorry about your disappointment. Look at the reviews: you can also see that there are 184 reviews and the 5 star rating is 98% verses the one star you gave us. We will offer you a free horseback tour in your future travels to Jamaica and the offer will be open for your lifetime as long as we are still operating.

Everything went were they have a lot of land but it's all wet lands and you stay on road dirt private road for about a mile and then to the ocean they do actually take great pictures and the horses to swim in ocean hold on cause they run into water very exciting .

Our driver Anthony was great, he got us there quickly and safely and even stopped at a store so we can get some Mosquito repellent! (You will need it trust me!) He was also very informative about the island and its history. Our Guide Jermaine was amazing! He knew so much about his horses (ours were Jeff and Benji🥰) and all of the wildlife around us, he even took pictures for us! It was all around a great experience for my husband and I, we loved it!

I was NEVER picked up from the meeting place (MERRILLS II RESORT). I would like to know if I can reschedule this for Wednesday evening for I really wanted to go on this excursion. I have an excursion on tomorrow in Kingston. Also, I would like to change my pickup point for the last 3 excursions because of the recent experience with Merrills, I DON'T WANT TO LOSE ANY MONEY. My wife and I absolutely loved this experience. Carlos our guide gave us a a trip to remember. We loved talking to him about the culture and he was very informative about all the different trees, plants and wildlife. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone. Getting to ride the horses into the ocean was amazing, like nothing I’ve ever experienced on horseback before. 5/5 stars for us

It was very confusing when we arrived at the site for the horseback tour. I think it was a way for them to get more tips. The driver said we were waiting for 7 more people that were late but that we would be getting a personal tour with the owner and that it normally would cost $40/pp more so we were "lucky". We never saw the other people, the said they rescheduled. The horses were really thin, and did not want to go in the water, they just wanted out. The beach definately does not look like the picture, there was a lot of garbage all along the beach, because of the location on the island the water is very dirty. The guide was very soft spoken and we were not able to hear what he was saying. The ride to the water was just ok, not scenic but the small section with the mangroves was nice. I wouldn't go back or recommend to others.

Carlos was a great guide. We had 2 and a half hours of riding, saw lots and the horses loved the sea.
The horses are well looked after and well trained , they just know where they are going and never having ridden a horse before i was not scared and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great value for money and would strongly recommend Reggae Horseback.
