We really enjoyed our time at Mark's farm, tasting a variety of different fruits from freshly prepared plates along with fresh coconut water and the meat. He took us on a tour of his farm, which was very rugged and natural. We had no problems navigating the land but people with mobility issues might. After the tour, he then made us fresh fruit smoothies! He's built his house and farm from the ground up and continues to add on and expand - such a great story and hospitable experience! Transportation was provided to and from our resort, and communication beforehand was great.

Jamaican Roots farm and all it is, is why I keep returning to Jamaica! Mark and the crew are so welcoming, good people with so much of Jamaica to share. The farm to table is beautiful, quench your thirst with coconut water, feed your body with wonderful clean fruits, and your mind with knowledge of the Flora around the farm as Mark shows you all the plants growing and how they sustain their bodies from the plants he nurtures. He is a wealth of knowledge and has truly carved an amazing life in the hills. If you choose this tour do yourself a favor and extend Mark is a phenomenal chef. The jerk chicken, rice, and veggies delicious. The meal ending juice was out of this world as if there is a chain or juicery out there to offer such a smoothie. The conversation, the sun, the breeze, the fire for the meal, and the flavors were immaculate, it is Jamaica, we literally missed it by the time we touched the road. Thank you Mark and Jo also honorable mention the animals as well you all have THE BEST energy. And we want to soon come back.

Very unique experience. Mark and his team made us feel welcome. We enjoyed our time at the farm and learned so much! Mark picked us up and dropped us off at our resort. Getting off the resort and getting a glimpse outside of the tourist spots was appreciated. The fruit and smoothie were amazing. Next time we will plan for a meal.

We had a great time at Mark’s farm. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked it but it was definitely a highlight of our trip. It was just my family and I on this tour and it felt like we were visiting a family member’s home. Mark gave us different fruits to taste that he picks directly from the farm and gave us a tour of the grounds. It was a nice break from the beaches that Negril is known for. The farm takes you to the mountainside of Negril. It was an educational, cultural experience that is a must do when you come to Negril.

A driver came to pick me up, who was not my original driver that the company provided.
He gave me the wrong name and couldn’t provide my name. When I asked him to confirm that I was his pickup, he got and his car and took off. Called the company and they couldn’t confirm who was picking me up and said my original driver wasn’t answering the phone. The tour ended up being canceled. Very suspicious and very unsafe!

Not unsafe in the slightest -- see 100% 5-star reviews from people who actually went on the tour :-).... I personally called and spoke to the reviewer just after the driver did not pick her up. He could not pronounce her name, but he told her clearly that he was the driver for the tropical farm tour. She did not trust it was our driver, and he left. I apologized for the mixup, offered rescheduling, and she declined. She was refunded immediately.
*** Note that we've had many single guests, and all are safe. If you are unsure that you would agree to be picked up when our driver arrives and tells you he's from Jamaican Roots Tropical Farm, it's probably not the best idea to book.
*** Update 1: The reviewer messaged us with the intention to call us out to her followers for unsafe and unethical practices. We beg to differ, and trust that travelers can decide based on the overwhelming majority of our customers' reviews.
*** Update 2: The farm van is repaired! Mark personally transports guests in a 7-passenger Voxy van, with a farm logo on the door & a straw hat on the dash. We apologize again for the mixup caused by sending our friend and fellow farmer, Manley, who many have met and agree is a great guy - he sends his best wishes! One love!

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Mark's hilltop farm. He walked us through the farm and told us his story of becoming a farmer. We were blown away with his methods of overcoming challenges in cultivating plants in the rough terrain. He also served us fruit platters and smoothies at the end. The pick-up/drop-off was very convenient as well. Not many mosquitoes around but recommend putting on bug spray before the tour just in case. Highly recommend!

Once in a life time experience! Mark is highly talented as an artist and farmer. He is inspiring, motivating, and also has INCREDIBLE fruit. We got a private tasting of fruit, as well as a smoothie, a drink, and even treated to the best lobster cooked on the grill I have ever had. The entire trip felt more like hanging out with a friend then anything else. We felt incredibly lucky to have this experience! We wish you all the best Mark!

We really enjoyed our tour of Jamaican Roots farm. Mark picked us up at our spot, prepared a delicious breakfast plate with fruits and veggies harvested on the farm, coconut water from the source, and gave us an informative walkaround tour of the farm. He is very knowledgeable about crops, farming practices, and doing it DIY-style. His accomplishments are inspiring and we encourage you to take this tour!

It will be long until I can truly describe this experience in words. The peaceful view from the main house, with incredibly fresh and delicious food prepared by Mark, accompanied by a family of dogs and Mango (the orange cat, of course). Incredibly grateful for him to open the doors to a farm he pours everything to— showing us all the tastes and smells a home grown Jamaican farm provides. I left with so much learning, inspiration, and food in my belly. Congrats and see you soon Mark!

Amazing experience. Mark is a great person with an amazing story. He was really welcoming, informative and a top level host. Highly recommend and we’ll be back! We did the dinner too and it was worth the extra money, best jerk chicken we’ve had on the trip by far, we left so full.

I was there with my wife. We were picked up and taken back to the same place. The farm is nicely decorated. Mark did a very good job of leading. He has a great way and has told a lot about the plants. The fruits and juices were very fine and can recommend it to anyone. Mark, keep it up.
