We had an amazing day with Ayu exploring the charming town of Nara. We saw so many things, met the deer, and learned so much about Nara and Japanese culture. Ayu was our favorite tour guide of the many tours we have taken. She was knowledgeable, fun, and tolerant of our many extended photo stops and knife shopping. It was a very memorable day.

This is a great half day tour with a local guide, which takes you through some of the major sights of Nara. It’s especially nice because it’s a small group (in our case — it was only the two of us!). Our guide was especially helpful and friendly, too. Well worth the money!

Shin Takeda provided a wonderful walking tour of Nara and he even had deer crackers waiting for us at the start of the tour. It was also completely unexpected to have such a small tour group. And Shin gave us some history and education on Buddhism practices. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for an almost private tour.

We had a great day with our guide Hide enjoying the sights of Nara. Hide was easy company and led us from site to site explaining the individual points of interest without overwhelming us with too much detail which proved just the right pace. The meal break was welcome and the food delicious. Hide explained the set menu carefully increasing our appreciation of the food and then ensured we had biscuits to feed the deer at a less crowded point too. All in all we highly recommend this tour as there is certainly lots to see and it’s great to do so with someone local.

Very interesting historical tour.
In addition, our lovely guide, Nobu-san, shared a lot of knowledge about today’s life in Japan.
The deer were abundant and hilarious, nodding at us (but be aware of the nibbling on your legs trying to get the crackers)

What a great way to spend half a day in Nara. Our tour guide Jimmy was amazing with his knowledge and insight of the deer, shrines, temples and history of Nara. He was wonderful in communicating with our group of 6 and he made an effort in interacting with all of us. I highly recommend Jimmy and this tour as it will give you knowledge and appreciation of the people and sights of Nara.

This tour took us through the itinerary listed as planned and stayed on time. We got to learn facts about the temples, shrines, and area from our awesome Japanese tour guide m, Jimmy, who spoke english. Jimmy was very friendly and glad we did the tour, otherwise we probably would have missed half of Nara Park. It was so big and there was so much to see.

We really enjoyed the tour around Nara despite very cold wind. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He instructed us how to behave around dears. My family expressed gratefulness for this personalized walking tour. We learned a lot from our guide, Shin, the history of the temples, shrines, the bowing Nara deers, and the Nara-specific Japanese culture. Everything was perfect.
First, a big thank you to Shin, our guidé who taught us many things about Nara and japanese culture altogether.
We visited Nara and learned of all the riches the town has, not just the famous bowing deer.
Shin even taught us how to pray correctly wether in front of a temple or in front of a shrine.
Also, as someone who is a bit introverted, I really did appreciate the way Shin made us all participate during this tour, by taking photos of us or just by talking a bit with everyone along the tour.
Long story short, it was an amazing day trip, Shin is an excellent guidé and a really good person, if you ever want to book this day trip, I recommend it 100%

We had booked this as a group tour but it ended up just being the two of us and our fantastic guide Yuki. It felt like we got to see Nara through the eyes of not only an expert but a local who clearly loved where she lived. We also got to explore what every day life was like in Japan and felt completely comfortable. Lunch was some of the best food we ate whilst in Japan and they catered perfectly for one of us who was vegetarian. Would strongly recommend this tour if only for our guide who was fab.

We ended up being the only two people on the tour and Miyabi was simply fantastic. We had already been to several temples and her information enriched that even further.
Plus, we never would have found a number of the smaller areas without her. She also brought us to a lovely sake tasting and recommended several restaurants at the end.
The provided lunch was full of local dishes and very tasty. It was a great day, even with the rain, and 100% recommended.

Yuuki was a wonderful tour guide to Nara! The experience was a nice mix of education, exercise, seeing beautiful places and just enjoying the area (and the deer of course). They were flexible with our (vegetarian) dietary needs. 5 stars all the way. A fantastic day!

Hide was a great tour guide who taught us a lot about Nara. We saw, we learned, we ate, we laughed. It was a great time and for us the perfect duration. The lunch was fantastic and they were able to provide us with a vegan teishoku meal that was one of the highlights of our trip. We weren't sure vegan was available b/c the booking screen said vegetarian only, but I think that was a mistake because we were two happy vegans!

What a fun day! Yusuke, our guide was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, engaging and attentive. The deer were the highlight of the day. Loved that they bow before getting their cookie treat. The history, shrines and temples were very interesting.

Eri-san was an amazing tour guide and showed us all the must-see sights in Nara. :) She was very knowledgeable about the religious customs of Japan, and we learned a lot about how Japanese culture and history influenced its religious traditions. She also showed us a few shops with artisan goods, such as knives and traditional Nara sweets (persimmon cakes!).
Lunch was also filling, and the restaurant was super accommodating for the member of our group who is allergic to fish. At the end of the tour, our guide also recommended to us a traditional place to get mochi, as well as her favorite kakigori shop.
But the best part of the tour was the deer! Eri-san provided the crackers, and gave us tips on how to feed and interact with the deer in a way that was respectful and didn’t cause the deer to crowd or get pushy. She also took us to the spots where the deer were younger and more gentle near the forest, and we even saw a baby fawn! Very magical moment.
I would absolutely recommend this tour, and our guide Eri-san specifically! Thank you for an amazing time!
