Unfortunately, this was a complete waste of time and money.
The walking tour did not provide any information about Nara itself... except that a placard on a building means it's historic (duh!), but our guide didn't even read the placard to us to understand anything about the buildings.
The first food "stop" was to try 1 piece of a Nara specialty sushi. The second stop was supposed to be mochi but it was closed, so we walked to another sweets shop that was also closed. Finally, the 3rd sweets shop was opened but our guide had never even tried their sweets and unfortunately it was not very good.
We did a sake tasting on an empty stomach, then went to an Izakaya that was probably the worst Izakaya food I've had in Japan. Lastly, we went to a brewery, where we found out our guide, the guide of a food, beer, and sake tour, doesn't even drink and did not know what to recommend!
Considering we had very limited time in Nara, it was extremely disappointing to know that we wasted a half day on this tour.
Save your money and just walk the streets around the train station and you will have a better experience than we did.

Everything was fine until we went to eat our last dinner at the restaurant where we had to wait for so long to get our food. Then our guide left us at the restaurant because it was pas her time.

We are glad that you had a great time during the tour. the time to be served at the last stop was unfortunate, but we hope you understand there was nothing we could do about it.
The tour has an average time, so extending it by a bit is not a problem.
Nonetheless, if the tour extends significantly beyond the official time, as we do not want to force the guests to stop having a good time, the guide can leave after making sure everyone agrees to stay and continue enjoying their time.
As you were at the last stop, we hope that you had an amazing time at the restaurant.

A really great way to experience some unique parts of Nara. Really enjoyed the sake and beer options. And the local restaurant was a real treat!

So this was actually the second tour I went on this trip where I was the only participant, but I still had such a great time!
I can't pick a favorite part because it was all great! The local sushi, the Sake taste testing (I loved them all and ended up buying two bottles), the craft beer (I had two kinds both great), the line for the mochi shop finally went down and I was able to buy myself a piece (best I ever had, do not skip this), then we landed at a restaurant for some food and drinks. My guide did her best to order things I haven't tried, and it turned out great! Because it was just me I feel like I definitely talked up a storm with my guide, especially after a few drinks.
Anyway I highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide took us to a very authentic local restaurant which I would have otherwise not found by myself, let alone understand what I am ordering. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and interactive which made it a great experience.
