We really enjoyed going to Delos from start to finish - and this is an excellent tour. The boat to get there was really enjoyable. Delos is amazing - very large. We really appreciated having Celia as a guide. She took us to places that we would not have found by ourselves. She really brought the ruins to life - her explation was excellent. I thoroughly recommend this tour.

This was a very good tour with knowledgeable tour guides. The ancient ruins were much more extensive and interesting than I had imagined. The day we went was very windy so the boat ride was a bit rough but not terrible. I highly recommend this tour.

Delos half day tour

Great experience. Very organized. Boat left 29 minutes late. But the English guide Celia was amazing. She was passionate about Delos and passed on the passion and excitement to us.

Very good and informative tour. The boat trip was very nice - about 30 minutes. We needed to check in at a booth to receive our group number, which was unclear, but worked out fine. Take bug spray! Little Venice is a great, charming place before & after trip!

Informative guide, Beautiful structures.

Informative guide, Beautiful structures. Amazing how much they have unearthed and restored. Informative guide. a little confusion on getting to the boat.

We were glad we chose this Sailing the Caldera excursion, wonderful lunch on the boat, great to experience the coves and the water. It was also a spectacular view of Santorini on the cliffs above.

Good but could be better.

Lizzie_R, Oct 2025
Was more about the history of the island which was very interesting however very little about the mythology. The guided tour part took up much of our time that I hadn’t the opportunity to go to the museum and the other temples ie Isis before I had to make my way back to the boat. We spent about 10 mins at the start waiting on people to use the facilities when they got off the boat instead of them using the WC on the boat or at the museum after the tour. Our guide was lovely, informative but the earpieces would cut out if you were more than 10m or so away from the guide or around a corner, don’t know if it was interference from the thick walls

Delos

Jill_Q, Oct 2025
Delos didn't disappoint! It was cold and rainy the whole time and our lovely guide was upbeat and positive the entire time. She answered questions with a smile. Offered help to a fellow traveler on the wet slippery stones. The trip could have been a nightmare but her sunny personality made everything wonderful.

Must do tour to Delos

Sheri_P, Oct 2025
This is a must tour! Our guide explained everything about the ruins in great detail - we could almost see the island as it was long ago.

Delos with an archeologist

Wendy_T, Oct 2025
Excellent guide but 35 in a group was TOO large for one group. She tried very hard and certainly knew her subject matter!

Good but not enough time

lascanokirsten, Oct 2025
Great information but to long with the guide…not enough time to explore the museum or site on our own! Didn’t know we had the option to take a later ferry 🥴

The sea bus dropped us off at the ticket office. Quick and easy to get our tickets. The tour was great and our guide exceptional. She knew her history and made the tour informative. Worth taking the tour. Glad we did it

It seems rush. It would be nice to have a few hour instead of 20 mins. In the 30 mins you need to do the museum

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Greetings from Delos Travel by Viator! Thank you very much for your review and for joining us on the Half-Day Delos Tour. We’re sorry to hear that the experience felt rushed and completely understand your wish for more time—especially to visit the museum. Delos is indeed a site of immense historical and archaeological significance and it’s natural to want more time to explore its many layers. Our guided tours are carefully designed to cover the main highlights as well as some lesser-known treasures of the site, followed by free time for guests to enjoy the museum and other areas at their own pace. For those who wish to extend their visit, we offer flexible return options: guests may choose to return to Mykonos at 13:30, 15:00 (except Mondays), or even as late as 18:30—allowing for a longer, more immersive experience. We hope your time on Delos was a memorable one and sincerely appreciate your feedback. Warm regards, The Delos Travel Team

Great way to see Delos

David_K, Oct 2025
Affordable, and easy way to see Delos. Make sure you have your euros ready, as you will need 20 euro each to enter the site. The boat was nice and had bathrooms and snacks. Our tour guide in Delos was amazing, she was fun and informative.

Great Tour

Victor_S, Oct 2025
Happy I did this tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and professional. It was great to have the audio tour so I didn't miss any of the explanations, while we were walking through the citadel. I just wished I was informed on the tour description, that there was an option to stay at the island and take the following ferry back to Mykonos. I visited the temple of Isis which was about 30 minutes walking, so I didn't have the time to visit the museum, or walk to the top of the island. The guide told us there is water for sale at the entrance and at the museum.

Great for history buffs

Wesley_E, Oct 2025
There is an additional 20 euro entrance fee and the boat ride is about 30min. The terrain is rocky and the tour guides bring you to certain spots and speak on it. I found the tour up my alley as I love history, but people that can't sit still and listen may not enjoy.

Werner_A, Oct 2025
The tour was worth every penny, and the site with its ruins is awesome. The only “But” was that there were way too many visitors on the island. 4 cruise ships were in the bay of Mykonos.

Too crowded

Anne_H, Oct 2025
Just way too crowded. Felt Like we didn’t see much of the site. Would not recommend. We do a lot of Viator trios. This is one of our least favorite.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Greetings from Delos Travel by Viator! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience on Delos felt overcrowded and did not meet your expectations. Please know that, as a company, we always strive to keep our tour groups as small and manageable as possible to ensure a more personal and enjoyable visit. However, the overall number of visitors on the island is regulated by the Greek Ministry of Culture, and unfortunately, we have no control over the crowds—especially on days when multiple cruise ships arrive at the same time. For a more relaxed experience, we always recommend our afternoon guided tours, which tend to be significantly less busy and allow for a more peaceful and in-depth exploration of the site. We truly value your feedback and hope to have the chance to welcome you again under better conditions. Warm regards, The Delos Travel Team

Our guide Celia was delightful and very knowledgeable about the island and its history. If you want to have the opportunity to explore on your own and spend time in the museum then would recommend booking the full day trip.

Much better than we had imagined!

Delos is awesome

Patrick_S, Sep 2025
Incredible!! Absolutely wonderful! A must see!! The museum is small but mighty in artifacts! Our guide Celia was amazing - she provided a wonderful experience!

One flaw with the tour guide’s presentation. Too long. Too much information.

Susan_B, Sep 2025
The site is much bigger in person than what you see on line or YouTube. Excavations were amazing!!!!

A lovely tour and boat ride!

3-4 hr tour of Delos

Kathy_C, Sep 2025
Our guide was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, entertaining and good with our large group. (About 20 people). The island was pretty crowded with a lot of tour groups and negotiating around these very interesting excavations and digs took some expert wrangling.. The Delos digs were fascinating and we learned so much. They were first a place to celebrate the Gods; became a thriving marketplace; pirate hangout; sadly a slave market center and was populated by up to 30,000 people on this small island. Water was an issue and they solved it.

Delos trip

Angela_F, Sep 2025
A great insight into Ancient Greek life very well explained by our guide. It was a good day out to visit the neighbouring island of Delos birthplace of Apollo.

Good Experience and Very Interesting

Ken_F, Sep 2025
Very interesting site with a lot of history. Our guide (Leah) was very knowledgeable about the site and was always willing to answer questions. The listing for this experience mentions that the admission cost to Delos is not included in the price, but I want to reiterate that point again. After paying for the excursion, you will need to have another 20 euros per person ready to pay in cash when you get to the pier to board the ferry. When you factor that in, it is a fairly pricey tour. Overall though, it was a very interesting and unique experience to see the many ruins and to visit the museum.

Excellent Delos tour and Guide

Thomas_C, Sep 2025
Lea is an excellent guide that transports you to the past life of Delos. She has great knowledge that is wonderfully presented to keep one engaged.
