There's a LOT to see on Delos, & I definitely wouldn't have gotten as much out of the visit if I'd done it without a guide. Mine was excellent, (unfortunately can't remember her name now). There's so much to see, in fact, that it doesn't leave much time for the museum. I think they should have more boats sailing to/from Mykonos so that time isn't as tight. Speaking of, you need to get to the boat at least half an hour before sailing time if you want a seat, going & returning. Heed the admonitions to bring water, and wear sunblock & a hat!!

It is a must when in mykonos one of the highlights of my trip in mykonos greece greek mythology has always been something ive been fascinated with as well as passionate about and to go to a place where the myths came from was something else for sure

Very informative and entertaining. Our guide did a great job. Would highly recommend. We don't remember her name but she reminded us of Gal Gadot

The trip was a bit expensive. We paid for the guided tour and then were informed the morning of the trip that we needed to pay an additional $20 per person for some kind of fees. We thought our guide Celia was great, but we felt a little taken advantage of with extra fee.

Bring water and maybe a snack because there is nothing offered on the island. Sunscreen and/or a hat is smart too as there is little shade. We enjoyed our tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. Only unfortunate parts were the museum was underwhelming and we were told there was a gift shop but it was closed/nonexistent.

Fantastic tour guide - very friendly and knowledgeable (an archaeologist who works on the island). It is a fantastic place and one that you could revisit and still find something new.
However, you do not get the chance to experience the whole site within this tour so I went back the next day and explored it alone. You can easily spend all day here (bring your own lunch and refreshments) but advisable to wear flat shoes!

The tour is about 90 minutes and then about an hour is left for free exploration of the museum or other areas not included in the tour

The transfer to the island of Delos is well organised. The ferry is crowded but well-equipped. The tour is very interesting, and the history is fascinating. Tour groups are around 20 people, and the whisper earphones tend to lose connection around the buildings of the old town, so stay close to the guide.
Delos is a very hot location, there are no trees or shade, so remember a hat and sunblock. Also, there is no shop on the island, so buy plenty of water on the boat before leaving. We saw several people who had not come prepared really struggling.

We had a great tour guide who was an archeologist and very knowledgeable about the history of the island. Definitely worth taking the tour with some extra time to shop or get a bite to eat in Mykonos.
KAREN_K, May 2026
The museum and the guide need to show why it was like when thriving. Otherwise it’s very hard to visualize. Use pictures or video.

This is tendered to the new port, then you need to take a SeaBus to the old port, to meet the boat to Delos island. Can't see why tge tender couldn't go to the old port, too.
Our guide, Janna, was excellent! She gave a clear explanation of each of the areas we visited.

Just that Delos is worth the visit. The guide was an archaeologist. She knew what it was about...and more!

Great tour to learn all about Delos history and Greek mythology. Excellent value for the money
The boat trip was very pleasant and nice.
Paul_M, May 2026
Great tour, if you do not want to spend a lot of time going around the island by yourself. It was the perfect timing for us. We had a relatively small group and the guide was good
Jeff_S, May 2026
archeologist tour guide for the island made the whole experience amazing.
Singing was clear to get to boat.
Be ware that some cruise boats do not tender you into port with much time to spare to make the 1000 AM boat. the walk from the tender port to the Delos Tour boat only takes 10 min, no need to take the water taxi, walking is quicker.

You get a lot more out of visiting Delos with a guided tour. The museum is a must see as well. Boat ride is about 30 minutes.
Nina_P, May 2026
Ferry ride was about a half hour. Comfortable and scenic. Drinks and snacks limited but available. 3 hour tour of UNESCO heritage site was good use of our time. Lena our English speaking guide was helpful in her explanations and very knowledgeable. Ear piece doesn’t really work for kids. Not the best place for very young children. Museum was okay. Lots of uneven cobble stone walking but was expected, so best to wear comfortable running shoes and sunny no shade so a hat is recommended. Other tours at same time but morning tour was the least busy but school kids were also present. No gift shop.

Amazing and interesting tour with excellent guide. We learned a lot and highly recommend the tour for all ages.
Robert_W, May 2026
Excellent experience! Easy to get to from the tender drop off area at Mykonos Old Town. Smooth process, boat was fantastic with refreshments, food, soda, water, and beer. Fantastic tour! Our guide Celia was very knowledgeable and made the experience excellent. Much like Pompei
Davis_D, May 2026
Very informative tour. Do some online research to view some illustrative reconstruction pictures of City to better understand what the ruins may have looked like . Our guide was a trained archaeologist. Delos Museum visit at end of tour is a must see. Stay close to guide as in some areas the audio transmission cuts out in narrow walkways if guide has turned a corner .
Crystal_T, May 2026
Our guide Amy is knowledgeable and kept the tour informative and humorous. Was a nice trip and will definitely visit Delos again.
Erin_L, May 2026
You learn a lot about the history of the island. Very informative and interesting. Would definitely recommend!

Tour guide was excellent. However, electric ear piece tied to the guide did not work very well. Noted myself and others would list to the guide without the ear piece to get a clearer understanding of what the guide said.
Kelly_S, Apr 2026
Amazing history and preservation of Greek culture and identity. Tour guide was knowledgeable but tour size too big. What an adventure climbing steps of The Hill! And standing in the former Sacred Lake.
Susan_T, Apr 2026
A great experience to see this island where it all began. Unfortunately the weather was not good, very cold and windy, and a lovely day would have made it so much better. The guide was very nice but tended to speak very fast which made her sometimes difficult to understand. However, it’s a magical island and a great tour.
Catherine_B, Apr 2026
Delos is wonderful- both beautiful scenery and wildflowers after recent rain, but also incredible archaeology.
Our guide,Celia, was truly excellent- clear explanation of historical context. She brought Delos to life.
Jamie_W, Nov 2025
Very informative and our guide was very knowledgeable and kind to our group. Would recommend to anyone who likes history
Surekha_P, Oct 2025
Great experience. Very organized. Boat left 29 minutes late. But the English guide Celia was amazing. She was passionate about Delos and passed on the passion and excitement to us.
John_G, Oct 2025
Very good and informative tour. The boat trip was very nice - about 30 minutes. We needed to check in at a booth to receive our group number, which was unclear, but worked out fine. Take bug spray! Little Venice is a great, charming place before & after trip!
Jon_J, Oct 2025
Informative guide, Beautiful structures. Amazing how much they have unearthed and restored. Informative guide. a little confusion on getting to the boat.
