Highly recommend this tour! It was a comfortable 30 minute drive from the cruise port to the countryside winery where we met the local winery guide that told us all about the wines and the vineyards. We were served a tasty lunch and got to sample many wines. The guide Javier was very personable and made the experience comfortable for everyone.

Miguel was very knowledgeable and friendly. Made the ride out to the winery go by very quickly. Everyone at Santa Rosa winery wonderful, showed a lot of pride in their history and wine. The lunch ended the trip on a super high note. On the ride back Miguel gave us a bit of extra, showing us sites in beautiful Montevideo. He even helped my friend find a place to shop for gifts.

Miguel, was amazing, provided excellent service, history and geography. He was familiar with the various wines, did a great job explaining the varieties at Santa Rosa m. Very well versed in English and had excellent recommendations. Miguel was very attentive, made sure we were happy and even when it rained he made sure we remained dry as he had umbrellas for us.

This tour was guided by Miguel who was very knowledgeable about the country and wine production. Our tour was at a very old family winery and we were guided through the process by a family member. Beautiful location. The food was amazing!!!! Served with 4 very good wines. One of the best wine tours we have ever been on, world wide. (Communication with this provider was great.) Our only complaint was that they did not have a strategy for shipping their wine to our home!

From the communication with Ryan to having Javier pick us up the adventure was amazing. Giovanni was so hospitable and welcoming. The tour of the owners was in depth and we were able to watch the workers making the wine. The asada was amazing and the flavors all went together so well. Great food and wine but the entire tour at the winery was in Spanish only with no real translation.
The lunch was very good and the wine was very nice.

Hi Daniel: I spoke with the owner of the winery. She was informed beforehand to do a separate tour in English. Javier (your driver/guide) told me that he did translate for you. This was a miscommunication on the wineries part. You did mention the food and wine was very good, so I am glad you enjoyed your wine paired lunch.

Fantastic day from the moment we were picked up by our driver Martin. He was very helpful and informative about Uruguay, Montevideo, places to eat.
The vineyard was idyllic, we were given a tour of the vineyard itself by the winemaker and Diego's wife gave us a personal wine tasting. She was informative and passionate about the wines they made with good reason. The meat and cheese platter were a perfect accompaniment and the lunch was equal to a fine dining restaurant.
I thoroughly recommend the wine tour, you won't regret it!

This tour was one of the highlights of our month long South America vacation. Ryan was very knowledgeable on wine and did an excellent job giving us a brief tour of Montevideo and explaining wine in Uruguay. He selected a boutique winery to visit and it was amazing and charming. The winery manager gave us a tour and explained the process and then the winery provided a marvelous lunch of grilled meats and vegetables as typically found in Uruguay. We could not have asked for more. Will do it again when I go back

A wonderful experience with Ryan Hamilton. Very knowledgeable. A great visit and tasting at the Carrau vineyard hosted by the owner himself. Excellent sampling of five of their products, and a chance to buy a couple of our favourites. Lunch was great fun, prepared by one of Montevideo's premier chefs, and accompanied by a couple of Ryan's favourite wines. Can't recommend this one highly enough!

Our knowledgeable English speaking guide (and driver),Ryan, picked 4 of us up for our tour. He was entertaining and informative on the drive to the winery (which wasn't too far out of town). The winery we visited (Bodega Carreou) had a 10th generation member of the wine making family give us the tour, which included a chance to see wine being bottled and labled. After a short tour of the facilities we went to a cozy tasing room. We were offered a wide array of wines, from the starter series to the premium line, including some older vintages. There was no shortage of wine to be drunk. After we had our fill, Ryan drove us back to town to a special restaurant for a special lunch, with a special wine that Ryan brought to accompany the meal. I was fearful the meal would be something typical and unmemorable. I shouldn't have worried-the meal was the best we had during our 14 day South American trip and the wine was great!. It was obvious the chef took pride in his craft and rightfully so. This wine tour was well worth what we paid and I recommend Ryan without hesitation!!
