After pickup from your hotel, receive a quick safety briefing. Then, take a short walk through the jungle to Irie Bridge, the launching point for your adventure. Pick a tube, hop on, and get whisked away by the current.
Ride your tube through the river's twists, turns and rapids. Pause for a break under a stand of bamboo trees, relax on the river bed and try out the rope swing. Jump back on your tube and run some more small rapids before being whisked under an old stone bridge.
At the river delta, paddle a bit to make it over the last rapids and land at Bengal Bay's white-sand shores. After the adrenaline-filled adventure, relax on the bay's sandy beach and bask in the tropical sun—or take the opportunity to do some more swimming.

We had an amazing time tubing, our guide Andre was the best! He was so entertaining, helpful, very nice and we enjoyed this excursion. He took us to a spot where we can jump off into the water, this was refreshing and great. Overall the tubing experience is highly recommend.

The tubbing was 10/10 ..water was cold and we seen people in their everyday life at the lake ..playing and diving in .. definitely was relaxing at times , have water proof phone case

We loved this river tubing experience with our kids (ages 4 and 6). It was a perfect outing for them. We left our hotel after breakfast and were back in time for a late lunch. The company was super responsive and let us change dates when our plans changed, our driver was friendly and made an extra stop for us and our guide was fantastic. Would definitely do it again!

The meeting point was not clear and we were directed to different meeting areas. When we finally made it to the river the guide was amazing and friendly. We felt like we were in good hands.

First off, I was staying at Airbnb but the driver refused to pick me up from there. So, I had to walk 10 minutes to the nearby hotel, which was a 2 minute drive from my Airbnb. This was after I put my location in, to make sure I was within the zone for pick up, in which I was, but the driver said it wasn’t. So, I had to walk across a busy road. Driver was late, mind you I’m standing outside on the street of a busy road, in front of a gated hotel. Second, the things that are « included » are false. The only thing was the transportation to and from. I had to pay an additional $160 USD, when we got to the location. In which I wasn’t informed about, I didn’t bring cash, since it was a water activity. Driver was not helpful in the matter, ended up having to Zelle one of the workers there, mind you there’s barely any connection up there. Thirdly, the tubing was not as it was advertised in the pictures. We were tied together in a circle going downstream until we switched over to an inflatable raft. There was no excitement to it at all. When we finally reached the beach, that was the end of it. In the booking it said there will be refreshments for us to purchase but there was nothing there. We were there for 5-10 minutes, just enough time for us to rinse off and that was it. Big waste of money. Paid $100+ just for transportation, when it said the tubing and rafting were included. Spent over $300, to go downstream for 30-40 minutes, of pure boredom. If I had known the truth I would’ve booked elsewhere.

Our driver picked us up on time at our hotel and delivered us to the Rio Bueno to begin our tubing adventure. Davion, our very engaging guide (Yeah Mon !), helped us gear up with helmets and life jackets. We then proceeded to tube down the river tethered together as Davion guided us. He pointed out various flora and fauna and answered all our questions. He explained how much the river had changed since the devastating hurricane of October 2025. The river is now wider and more shallow. We stopped along the way to swim and even jump in the river using a rope swing.
At the end of the tube ride we switched to a raft and paddled our way down the river to where it flows into the Caribbean. We paddled to a small beach to where our driver was waiting to take us back to our hotel.
We also appreciate the care Davion took helping our 74 year old “patriarch” getting on and off the tube and in and out of the raft.

We didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be a very good excursion for us. Our guide, Dewayne, made sure to keep us off of the fallen limbs and allowed us plenty of picture time. There's a rope you can swing on to drop into the river, which he let some of the family do. He explained how to do it and when to let go. My son said that was the best part for him. The ride is comparable to a lazy river with a few currents. It's about 3 miles long but the last mile we had to get out of the tubes and get into a raft to paddle to the beach. The beach was not much to talk about. I would strongly recommend bringing water to drink because it's not provided and you will get thirsty by the end (this would be my only reason for giving it 4 stars). Overall, after getting past our fear of the unknown, it was very relaxing, fun and we would do it again.

The experience was amazing. Shawn was our captain and he was so wonderful and knowledgeable of the area. Make it your stop for fun in the sun!

Great activity for a family. We had a great experience. Guide Devian was friendly, and the driver was on time and ready.

Our kids had an absolute blast, and Davian and the rest of his team made the tubing extra fun. The ride into the river rafting was a bit dodgy off of the main highway but it was legit and well organized with the driver and enjoyable. WHen you finish you walk down a beach with lovely homes to get to a bit less than fantastic area where you enjoy the water and can have a Red STripe and some chips, but that's about it. Kids didn't mind though. I think it was a great option for Disney Cruisers

We had such a great experience on our tubing tour in Jamaica! Anthony, Davian, and Travis were absolutely wonderful; so kind, helpful, and fun throughout the entire trip.
What impressed me most was how hard these guys work. Watching them guide us down the river, keep everyone safe, and maneuver all of the tubes was incredible. We had two other families with us, and because they could only safely tie together about 6–7 tubes at a time, they handled splitting the groups so smoothly and made sure everyone still had an amazing experience.
I was honestly a little nervous about the rapids before we started, but they weren’t too rough at all, and nobody in our group turned over. The guides made everyone feel safe and comfortable the entire time.
They truly went above and beyond to make the tour enjoyable and safe for everyone. We’re so grateful for their kindness and professionalism. Highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Jamaica!

We had such a fun day! Group of 11 with 5 kids under 7. Guides were amazing and so fun! Be prepared there is no food so make sure your the kids are fed before you get going. Would definitely recommend.
Ruth_N, Apr 2026
Although the description talks of taking a short hike to a waterfall and going across the river via wooden bridge, neither of those occurred. The rapids should be considered more of a lazy river since the rapids were few and far between, paddling the end of the trip is not feasible when there are only two people as the current coming into the river is way too strong to transverse. We then had to walk the beach to get to the end of the trip. A fun experience, but not really worth the money.

Super fun experience! Guides were friendly, fun and helpful. Would recommend highly recommend! A few to know that aren’t mentioned-
Bring your own towel they are not provided. You can safely leave your items on the bus.
After tubing you get on a larger raft and paddle to the beach. Not overly strenuous but took about 30 min.
There is a bar on the beach but it’s not always open. Would have been nice to have a cold bottle of water and/or a cocktail at the end. Bring your own water.
The drive to and from is about 45 min each way.

Great activity for families with kids. The River rapids were fun but nothing major, so not scary for little ones. They also have tubes of various sizes including those with solid bottoms and seatbacks for smaller kids. The second half of the rafting was a bit strenuous but not in a bad way! Beach area was not especially nice, and we felt a bit rushed to leave but I think that was because of the other people in our bus wanting to leave. Overall, we had a really fun time and are glad we did this!
Colter_W, Apr 2026
Floating the river was fun. Kind of a short trip down the river. It took roughly 1 hour 20 minutes each way in vehicle from Montego Cruise terminal.
Jason_W, Apr 2026
Tubing was very short. Not much rapids at all. We then rafted a bit to a beach where the guide for the water part left. You are literally left on the beach with no direction of anything to do. Your driver is waiting there and basically the best option was to leave and go back to resort. For the price you pay, it is not worth it and if course everyone is looking for a tip. Our guide for tubing was pleasant and our driver was nice as well. Just not worth it and overall experience was underwhelming. Overall excursion part was like 35 minutes....
Jason_S, Apr 2026
We had an absolutely great experience. We had 2 adults and 2 teenagers and our guide, Davien, was the best! He made it very fun.
Breanne_E, Mar 2026
Great time. Had a hiccup with the cruise ship not being able to dock in Montego Bay, instead went to Falmouth. Contacted the operator, they were amazing with changing the pick up time to be able to still go on this excursion. The tubing was fun, less "rapids" then was expected but our group had some good laughs throughout. Wasn't expecting it to be a separate thing from the provided ride so didn't bring enough to tip the different provides. Tip for guild and tip for "taxi"
James_S, Feb 2026
Davion expertly guided us down the river in our tubes and through a high surf in our ocean kayak . River depth was low so many exposed rocks, ocean waves were massive.
Dana_K, Feb 2026
We did the River Rapids tour on Rio Bueno and Davian was our guide. It was amazing and Davian made it so much fun! We had kids ages 16 and 13 with us and they loved this tour so much as did we (the parents). I would highly recommend doing this tour and if you happen to get Davian as your guide you are guaranteed to have the best time!

We had a fun day, we had some trouble finding our driver as the directions we were given weren’t clear, I wish the driver had just sent a google maps pin for where he wanted us to go but for some reason he couldn’t. Anyway our driver Green has an outsized character which I can see might rub some people up the wrong way but he made a reasonably long journey pass more quickly with facts about Jamaican history and culture and the effects of the hurricane which then turned into a quiz, just go with it he’s a good guy who gave us plenty of good info on the way, we found his driving perfectly safe too. Our tubing guide Duane was really great and looked after us on the river very well. He told us how the hurricane had significantly damaged the river banks and pointed interesting things out as we floated along. We transferred to a rubber dinghy and paddled the last part of the trip out into the bay and along the beach where we saw a sea turtle swimming past which Duane spotted for us. Green met us at the beach and took us back via the obligatory souvenir shopping trip where there was no pressure selling, we bought blue mountain coffee beans and the price seemed about right. We were back at the ship by 2pm. All in all a good experience, it’s a shame the drive is quite long but they can’t do anything about where the river is

Sorry for the length, but this review needs to be written. This is a two part review. The river rapids company was great. Friendly, thorough and accommodating. You can do this tour via raft or tubes. Four of us in the group did the tubes. Our tubes were tied together while our guide, Travis, floated behind us and directed us down the river. He did well keeping us away from the fallen trees and reeds in the water and explained what to do when we went down the small rapids. Half way down, there is a rope swing for you to try and Travis entertained us with a back flip into the river. Once you reach the ocean, you must transfer to a raft (no more rapids to move you) and you paddle approx 200 yards to the beach area, across the tide currents. Over all, the rapids were mildly entertaining and the paddling definitely gives a proper work out. The beach had bathrooms and a small outdoor bar and snack shack to get a bite, all in good condition. The beach was small but decent. The company gets a 4 due to nice customer service, rafts and safety equipment being in good order and how well Travis took care of us, but I hoped for a lot more excitement with the rapids. Sadly the transportation part was HORRIBLE. Our driver, Cheap (or Green) Charlie, was rude, condescending, obfuscatory and NEVER once answered our questions with a direct answer. He let one group walk past our tour bus three times because he refused to tell them exactly his location and what the bus looked like, instead just asking "where are YOU?". He gave us lots of history in the form of a quiz where he just had us endless guessing dates. When asked how long the bus ride was, his response was "depends on how hard I push the gas pedal." This was asked and repeated several times. Once we arrived, he told us if we want to save $10 for lockers, to leave our items on the bus, when a person tried to clarify how we get back to the bus, he just repeated louder "IF YOU WANT TO SAVE $10 LEAVE YOUR ITEMS ON THE BUS" instead of just telling us that he will meet us at the beach. And when asked how much time we had at the beach, his response was 'however long you want' even though we had no idea how long it would take back and several were worried about making their ship time. The ride to the raft company is considerably longer than expected, roughly 1 hr 30 mins. So people were getting worried and we all decided to leave after being at the beach only a short time. Charlie may have been upset at this since he was still eating. The drive back began with him driving like Mario Andretti on steroids. Several comments were made that he was going to kill us just to make a point of getting us back on time. However, he had other plans. He was driving fast so he could take us to the ABC souvenir store where he told us we would all get 50% off and gave us a sticker with a number on it. We were then told inside the store its only 25%. I'm guessing the sticker tracked our sales and he got a cut. Once we were all back in the van, he told us we all needed to long into VIATOR and give him a good review. He would not start the van until we did. All four groups in the van said we did not have wifi and would do it later. He then played a video of a little girl dancing on his ipad and said the good reviews will help him put a roof on his house and protect her. So one person 'pretended' to log in and put a review and Charlie started the van. We all assured him we'd be sending in our reviews later. He drove with a little more caution on the trip back, but pulled over4 times to 'talk on the phone to his boss' explaining the laws against talking on the phone and driving (which was odd because he accepted several calls on the way there without pulling over) and once to find music on his ipad to play for us which took a ridiculous amount of time with us just sitting on the side of the road. At this point, we all determined he was intentionally being a complete jerk. He inflicted his aggressive form of history quizzes on us until we finally arrived back at the port. While I wanted to support the locals for the devastation they endured, it killed me to give this guy even a $10. tip. He is detrimental to the reputation of Viator and Braco Tours and should seriously consider a new line of work.

Great time! The river was about an hour from our Montego Bay hotel. We then all got helmets and lifejackets. A tour guide got us situated in our rafts and tied them all together so we would float down the river together. Water shoes would be nice, but we had none and just used flip flops. It was totally fine! The tour guide hopped on a tube and came with us to navigate us down the river. We just sat back and relaxed. There are a few areas where the river gets bumpy but otherwise very smooth and steady. Total ride is about 30 minutes. You then get out of tubes and into a rubber raft where you paddle out to the ocean. From there, you get dropped off on a beach and walk the beach to the pickup location. It was very fun!

Wow!! Amazing! Great tour guide. Easy pick up and return right to Port. Both teens and husband enjoyed.
zanrieann_H, Jan 2026
The drive to excursion from the port is about 40minutes. The driver was punctual and friendly. The guide Dwayne was awesome. Even on a somewhat breezy rainy day, we still all had so much fun. He took time with the kids to make sure they enjoyed themselves the most.
On the way back we asked to stop for something to eat and the driver dropped us off to the spot. Would’ve liked for the driver to wait for us instead of having us walk back to the port in the pouring rain, but we made the best of it.

This was a fun family friendly activity that entertained kids age 6-18. Felt safe the whole time. They took extra care of nervous little kids.
Jolynne_D, Dec 2025
Great Adventure! Was a little worried how things would go being one of the first cruise ships back to the island after the hurricane. They did an amazing job, despite most of the island is still without power and in disarray. The adventure was just as good as when we came last time before the devastation on the island. Guides are amazing and so much FUN! Shout out to Donkey and Big Ben for an amazing voyage down the river.
Tamiko_P, Dec 2025
This was an amazing tour and Davian was an excellent guide. Great fun and plenty of laughs!! Would recommend this trip for all ages. Ask for DAVIAN. You won’t be disappointed.
Kiara_G, Sep 2025
Our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. What should have been a fun, memorable excursion turned into one of the most stressful parts of our trip.
Excursion Length & Check-In
• The excursion lasted under 2 hours total, far shorter than what was advertised.
• Check-in alone took 40 minutes, cutting significantly into our already short experience and leaving us feeling rushed and frustrated before we even began.
Transportation Issues
From the moment we were picked up, the transportation experience set a terrible tone:
• Late Pickup: The driver was late to pick us up, which immediately put us behind schedule.
• Unsafe and Unpleasant Ride:
• There was a constant loud beeping noise the entire ride.
• The car was in awful condition — filthy, ant-infested, worn-down, and jerking the whole way.
• The driver spent the entire ride on the phone, not paying attention to the passengers’ comfort or safety.
• Unprofessional Behavior:
• The driver rushed us out of the car with no courtesy.
• Pressured us for a tip despite the poor experience.
• Made no effort to be welcoming, friendly, or professional — it was clear he didn’t want to be there.
• Stranded After Excursion: After the excursion ended, we were left waiting for 30 minutes for pickup with no communication.
Broken Promises
We specifically asked to be taken to a certain place to eat after the excursion. The driver completely ignored our request and did not take us where we asked to go, further ruining the experience.
Company’s Response
After everything, we reached out to the company to request a partial refund due to the extremely poor service and multiple issues. Instead of taking accountability, the company denied our request, leaving us even more frustrated.
Overall Impression
This entire experience felt unprofessional, unorganized, and disrespectful of our time and money. We left feeling stressed and upset — the complete opposite of what we expected. The combination of:
• A late, unsafe ride
• An unprofessional driver
• Being stranded after the excursion
• Not being taken where we wanted to go
• And having our refund request denied
…made this one of the worst excursions we have ever booked.
I do not recommend this company to anyone unless significant changes are made to their drivers, vehicles, scheduling, and customer service policies.
babyjaaay, Sep 2025
From start to finish everything was amazing the Transportation had very good communication w/ us on when he would be arriving. And the guys at check in helped us w the life vests and helmets and gave us a tour of the river. Beautiful island. Only con was at the end nothing was open so it kind of was just a chill area. Overall great trip would recommend to anyone.
