Driver was great . Meet at an alternative pick up spot as the app needs to update the maps as the hotel we picked initially was not even open and was in rough area of town . The tour it self was amazing . Bring swimming shoes as the bottom of the water is quite gross feeling . Well worth the experience . Driver was the best part at the end he made a personal restaurant recommendation which was local and amazing

We apologize for the initial confusion with the pickup location, since we’re not staying at a permanent hotel, The website does not give an option to pick up elsewhere so we had to Create one via email as we did but anyway I’m happy. Simple, uncomplicated way to see this amazing lagoon!

I booked a 6:00pm tour to the Luminous Lagoon with Down To Earth Tours for one person. I was told my pickup time was 5:30pm and my driver, Jordane, was right on time. I was the only participant, so it was a private ride. We drove to a bar with a pier called Buzzo’s Sports Bar and Grill where I was handed over to the tour guides there. I was offered Rum Punch or Bottled Water. There were bathrooms and showers. We arrived at 6:09 pm, so it was still too early and not dark enough for the tour. My driver Jordane waited with me until about 7pm and we had a nice chat. At that time, another group of three joined me and it was dark enough to go out, so the four of us boarded a small boat while Jordane waited for me at the bar. The lagoon itself is absolutely incredible, a once-in-a-lifetime must-do! (Tip: go after a sunny day, as the organisms draw energy from the sun and glow brighter at night.) Our boat driver and tour guides took us out to the middle of the water where there were several other boats. We were able to swim for about 15-20 minutes in the water- I wish it were longer! There was a photographer who took individual photos of us and transferred them to our phones. The cost was $10USD, so bring cash. You are going to want to purchase the professional photos because, even taking a phone camera in a waterproof case, it’s very difficult to get good photos. Video worked a little better. We rode back to the bar, where Jordane was waiting for me and took me straight back to my hotel by 8:45pm. There were no unnecessary stops, so it was quick and sweet. I’d definitely recommend doing your lagoon tour with Down To Earth Tours.

Breath taking tour

Very amazing sight! Our driver was great and we really enjoyed all of his suggestions that he gave us. The tour is a bit short once you are in the water, but we still feel like we got the full experience! Make sure to wear shoes, not flip flops, the ground is extremely mushy in the water. There are lots of jellyfish in the water in early August, I was stung by a small jellyfish, but the experience was so great it didn’t matter!

Such an incredible experience! Hosan and his wife picked me up and they were so incredible. They were funny and kind and made the drive enjoyable. If you go you have to request them. I forgot to bring a swimsuit and they stopped so I could get one knowing I would have to catch the later boat ride. They didn’t complain once. They were amazing. They also took pictures of me in the water and really made sure to get good ones. Best tour guide I’ve had ever! They went above and beyond.

Not very exciting tour. Was more concerned with our safety on a very old/ dated boat that smelled like burning oil. Also experienced some kind of sting, like a jellyfish, left rash for a few hours. Never saw what actually stung me though.

Our family was unsure about jumping into the lagoon at first but when we did, it was so much fun! Once one of us went in, the rest of us basically joined in, minus the parents who watched and helped take pictures. It's not as much of an experience if you don't jump in though because then you basically spend $50 to ride a boat in the middle of the night to see blue water that is being created by other people. So if you go, be sure to experience the cool blue waters for yourself. It'll make it more worth it. There are NO dangerous or strange creatures! Completely SAFE :-) It's actually shallow and you feel squishy mud below you when you try to stand up and stop dog paddling lol mostly it just felt cool and weird at the same time. But it's totally worth seeing such a beautiful and rare phenomenon. When you pick your arms out of the water, it looks like stars falling off your body due to the microbes!!! SO COOL!!! Don't miss out :-) The people there have cameras to take pictures for you and then offer $25 to air drop all the pictures to you phone, which isn't bad I guess, but just be aware of the cost and to be ready with money if you'd like some copies. We ended up getting the pictures. *We did not try this, but see if they will give you a discount price for only specific pictures rather than a flat cost for all because you may only want your favorites.

From the very beginning of the tour, our friendly driver Leon made us feel safe, welcomed, and excited to begin. The moment the sun went down, we were in the water with a very manageable group size. The lagoon itself is unbelievable and is a must for anyone in the area. Awesome experience!

The tour was awesome! Honestly my wife and I were a little nervous, but as soon as we got to meet our driver our worries were put to rest. We had Leon who was an awesome guy he was willing to stop for us too so I could go to the bank . The lagoon was incredible! I highly recommend this!
