Our driver was so lovely! He brought us to a local village on the way to the waterfalls and shared his knowledge about local life which was very interesting! Then we went to the waterfalls which was beautiful and our guide waited for us until we were finished. He was very kind and helpful!

The caves were really disappointing. Our true guide left the tour only after 10 minutes so we had not gone for this tour.

This is a very safe and reliable way to travel around the area. We booked a van for 10 hours and our driver was fantastic!!! They will go where you want and pick you up where you want. Always on time and even early. My driver did not speak English so I communicated through WhatsApp with the dispatch. He communicated to driver. It worked very well.
My husband played golf and after dropping him off, the driver took me to town and then we went back and picked him up. We went all over for the day seeing many sight and just having a nice coffee by the Mekong. We took a river cruise and our driver was right there when we returned. Very reliable and safe! He even gave us water and cleaning wipes.

As before every trip and booking, I do a lot of research and this had many many 5 star reviews. " Da is excellent, " " Da is so knowledgeable and helpful," Da is like a tour guide," well I'm guessing this company has now bitten off more than they can chew. We were put with a completely non -English speaking driver, who incidentally must have been the slowest in Laos. We travelled the suggested 45 minutes in silence and then another 30 minutes as like I said our driver was incredibly slow. This was both ways, an hour and 15 minutes each way! Not a word of what I had hoped for about the history of Laos or pointing anything out en route. We had a wonderful time there and the falls are beautiful, but that isn't what you're paying for with this trip( entrance fees are separate). When we had finished, we couldn't ask to stop anywhere we would have liked, such ad the temple we passed or the Mekong river as he didn't understand anything. There was no point stopping at suggested places as we couldn't ask any questions or get any information. We had our slow crawl back and were just left feeling annoyed at how we'd been ripped off. So do yourself a favour, just book a taxi for £5 instead of wasting £60 on exactly the same service from here.

First, regarding the driver's language skills. We understand you were expecting a guide-like experience, as mentioned in some of our other reviews. However, the service you booked was a private minivan transfer, not a guided tour. As a general rule in Laos, drivers for transfer services do not typically speak English. While we always do our best to assign a driver who speaks some English if one is available, this is unfortunately not something we can guarantee, especially during busy periods. The primary service offered is safe and private transportation.
Second, regarding the travel time and speed. We understand your frustration with the journey taking longer than expected. In recent years, the road conditions outside of Luang Prabang have deteriorated significantly due to a lack of government funds for road maintenance. Because of the poor state of the roads, our drivers must drive slowly and cautiously to ensure your safety. What may have once been a 45-minute journey now regularly takes longer, as safety is our top priority.
We assure you that we offer our services at a fair and competitive price for private vehicle hire in Luang Prabang. We regret that this was not your impression and that you felt "ripped off."

Having a confirmed ride to the waterfalls was a good idea. There were cars at the site but knowing that we had a confirmed ride for almost the same price helped make our trip relaxing. It was a long way so taking a tuk tuk would not have been a good idea as some online suggested.
Our guide also know of a couple places to stop along the way that made our trip more fun than a Grab ride. The buffalo ice cream stop was super fun on the way back.

Exceeded expectations! Loved having the flexibility to spend as much time as we wanted in the waterfall pools, zip lining, climbing up to the treehouse, stopping for lunch, then to the buffalo dairy before coming home when we were ready. Our driver and guide, Da, was warm, informative and very accommodating. And the car was incredibly comfortable. Well worth it to see so many aspects of Laos. Highly recommended!

What a wonderful experience. Mr. Da is very knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating. He really works hard to make sure you have a great day, tailoring activities and timing with ease. I felt so well-taken care of. He was also fine to take lots of photos for me, even agreeing to climb 542 steps to the lookout! Really enjoyed this tour.
