This was an amazing experience. The farm is beautiful, nestled against the mountain. You learn all about organic rice farming and get to participate. Johnny, our guide was very knowledgeable and told us family stories. Planting, harvesting and cooking rice is a long process - most which I had no idea about before today. I highly recommend this tour!

What a fabulous experience with hands-on learning all the steps for growing and harvesting rice. This was one of our favorite tours.

This is a total rip-off!!! Viator charged us twice the actual price! For a family of four, that was more than $100 extra. Book directly with the farm.

A huge thank you to our guide, Johnny, and the wonderful families who support their community with this tour! A unique and highly recommended hands on working of the rice field through all 14 steps. Would recommend the tour and going all in, which includes being knee deep in mud at times! A fully immersive and worthwhile experience.

We loved leaning about the hard work of growing rice. It was amazing to have such an informativ and interactive tour. I personally didn’t like the part were we interacted with Bentley, seemed a little unnecessary.
We didn’t stay for lunch but we ate some of the snacks provided and they were very tasty.
All in all I would recommend coming here, it was a unique and wonderful experience
Little side note; we were told to be ready at 8am, to be on time but the driver showed up at 7:49 which was a little uncomfortable since we were still having breakfast. It also seemed unnecessary since we didn’t pick up anyone else and all the other tour members came 10 min after us.

Very educational & immersive enjoyable experience. The tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable about his family’s extensive farmland.

This is an amazing view of traditional rice growing and a lot of fun. We dug a planting trench behind a water buffalo, planted rice, harvested the grown rice, and went through each procedure of preparing it for sale and the table. We learned how really arduous and labor intensive traditional rice growing is. The local guide, Johnny, was an expert, personable and humorous teacher. Highly recommended.

It’s amazing all the steps one has to go through in growing rice. This experience will make you appreciate the hard work that is put forth. The group is phenomenal and uses the farm and proceeds to support the community.

Today we learned about rice farming. They have you take your shoes off and become a rice farmer for the day. You learn how to plant the seeds and then till the area to be planted using their water buffalo. How to harvest the rice, and cook the rice. I would do this tour again.

Everything was wonderful. Our guide Geo was fantastic, and the experience is one I highly recommend!

This was a beautiful experience in a wonderful rural setting a short drive from the centre of town. There’s plenty of opportunity to try all stages of rice production and get really involved! Who knew it was such hard work and took such effort. Our guide Sai was great and taught us so much in a fun, informative and practical way. We didn’t stay for lunch but enjoyed the snacks provided. We loved this experience.

Very interesting and well organized tour around the rice fields. Guide was so knowledgeable and kind.

The rice farm itself (and lunch) was amazing but everything around unfortunately not.
It wasn't guided tour at all, we were brought to waterfall without any information about it and was said that we will meet with "guide" in 2 hours.
At the end we were waiting for another group which should come back with us to the city and drove outside of city at first to drop off 1 person to come back to city centre and drop off the rest if group.
Unorganized trip (Manifa tours), so book somewhere else, because as mentioned - a living land rice farm experience is totally worth it!

This was quite possibly the best experience I had in Laos. You get to see and have an hands-on experience in growing, harvesting, cooking and (of course) eating rice. Kham was wonderful - friendly, fun and knowledgeable. A definite must-do while in Luang Prabang!

Kham our guide was a great teacher. We learned a lot and had fun in the fields. We booked an all day trip from the Living Land Farm to the waterfalls. DO NOT let the minivan take you back to your hotel after lunch. Have them take you directly to the waterfalls. They took us back to our hotel and then kept us waiting only to drive us right back passed the farm and into the waterfalls. We wasted 2 hours.

So much to learn about rice and the local culture! Be prepared to work in the rice Paddy and get dirty! Suzanne the water buffalo was cute and gentle. Absolutely delicious lunch- don't skip that part!!!

Excellent learning opportunity. Actually went into a rice field and worked. Plowed a field, planted rice seeds, transplanted rice. Lunch was excellent. Our guide was knowledgeable and professional. There was much added including learning about the way of life of the people. BEWARE -- you are going into a rice field -- you will get muddy, wear shorts.
