The tour operator had good communication prior to pick up. Mateo picked us up in a Mercedes van on time and easy to see. The van was Clean and comfortable. He was awesome the whole day. He had great history of Rome and he was very flexible. Every stop he had a good place to park and told us where to go and took care of us every step of the way. He knew all the insights of where to get the good pictures and how to see the sights. Then it was back to a comfortable car and on to the next stop. No stress, no anxiety just fun. Felt super safe as well. He then took us to a great place for lunch on the way to St. Peter’s square. We saw a ton and had no worries of traffic or if we were gonna see what we wanted. He took care of everything. If on a limited time and don’t want to deal with anything this is definitely the way to go. I highly recommend!! Thanks Mateo!!!

This was the best decision for our visit to Rome from our cruise. Riccardo was fantastic! My family was atypical: I am a single mom with my 2 kids and my senior mobility challenged mother, we would have never survived a group tour so we knew private was the way to go. But we had no idea how great and stress free the experience was going to be. Riccardo was waiting for us at the ship, explained everything in detail, was incredibly friendly, helpful, charismatic and knowledgeable, providing interesting facts and information along the way. He adjusted the itinerary according to our needs and made great suggestions to make the most out of our time, dropped us close to the locations and while in the car kept on describing places and views along the way. He was fantastic with my mother helping her in and out the car, setting up the wheelchair for her and getting it in and out of the car at every stop with a smile on his face. I know we were a challenging group but he had a great attitude all the time. Great communication and very efficient use of our time. I can’t thank him enough for how great he was with my family, we saw more than we thought we would be able to on an extremely hot day and with our added challenges. Thank you so much Riccardo!

Claudio was a wonderful tour guide! Our group of eight included people that had never been to Rome and people that had been several times. He made it interesting for all and knew all the back streets to get around efficiently and with ease. Claudio took us to an amazing Italian restaurant for lunch and the staff there were kind and joked with us making it a special and enjoyable time with our family!

This was the best way to see Rome in one day. Ricardo showed us everything we wanted to see and before we got out of the car explained everything to us. He went above and beyond with all the information we needed to enjoy the sites of Rome. His English was fantastic. We are in our mid 70s so he was always keeping an eye out for us to make sure that we went where we were suppose to be. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ricardo. If you need someone to help you around Rome please ask for Ricardo

Absolutely loved our tour. Best we had in Europe. We broke all the rules of the tour plan, but our guide went with all of our strange requests every step of the way and we loved the end result. Definitely this is the company to go with if you want to do some different stuff and you want a guide that can help you through each of your requests.

Let me start by saying our guide Riccardo was amazing. He welcomed us with waters and a friendly handshake. He took his time making sure we were able to make this tour our own, at our pace. He took us to all the highlights and them some. He made this one of our best tours squeezing in EVERYTHING that we wanted to see and do and was patient when we needed extra time. Ricardo, our driver, was incredible! I can't believe how much we were able to see and enjoy in one day. He made sure that we saw the top things on our list, and then added a few more things that he knew we would enjoy. We went to the Trevi fountain, which I hadn't even thought of, and it was my favorite site of the trip. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. I can't say enough about this tour and our guide.

This was a wonderful way to experience Rome! We had our 4 teen children with us and didn’t need to worry about anything.
Alex took great care of us, was an incredible tour guide. He was knowledgeable, friendly and customized the trip as we wanted.
We came as a day trip from a cruise and he picked us up at the port and dropped us back with plenty of time! Zero stress!

We loved having Nicola as our driver! He met our group of 6 right outside our cruise ship and provided excellent commentary of the various sites we saw during our drive. He got us to our Colosseum tour right on time, and communicated with our Colosseum tour operator regarding our meeting point for our Colosseum guide. After our Colosseum tour, he promptly picked us up when we told him we were headed to our predetermined pick up point. We made several more stops at prominent historical sites in Rome, and each time Nicola was very good at communicating in which direction we should walk and where he would pick us up after we saw the site. He also made a lunch reservation for us at a delicious restaurant around the corner from the Vatican Museums entrance, told us how to enter the museum after lunch using our skip-the-line tickets, then picked us up right outside the museum exit after we were done. It was the perfect experience for our very limited time in Rome, and it was all because of Nicola’s expert driving, time management, and communication! I will also add that communication with the DriverInRome company was excellent in the time leading up to the tour, always prompt and thorough.

We had an amazing day with our tour guide, Riccardo. We were picked up at the port and the day was seamless. Riccardo was very knowledgeable, bringing us through his beautiful city and being private, just my family of six, tailored for our needs. After seeing the many sights, the amount of time at each stop was perfect, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a restaurant that’s a favorite of Riccardo and his family. We were not disappointed and may have been the best meal of our trip. The staff treated us like royalties and would recommend this stop for a wonderful lunch.

Our driver was Ricardo and he was perfect, excellent!! Good communication, on time and over all an excellent tour guide. We had tickets to the Vatican, he was very helpful, he looked at our tickets showed us where to meet our guide and stayed with us until our tour guide arrived to take us on our Vatican tour. He had good recommendations what to see and gave us a good amount of time in each spot. I would definitely ask for Ricardo!

We have cruised extensively (600+ days) and have had many port excursions and experiences. This tour is at the very top of that list. The pre-trip communication was exceptional - we did this tour privately (didn't cost much more as we had 5 in our party) and were able to customize to suit our needs. Matteo was our driver/in vehicle guide. He knew everything about our venues and the best way to structure our day. He was amazing and I can't say enough about how great this whole experience was. We were back in plenty of time and were met at the gangplank for our departure.

Luigi. our driver. provided excellent commentary on all the sites we we wanted to try to fit in and navigated the streets and parking to make our stops very efficient. And then he surprised us bringing us to a very fun excellent multi-course lunch just blocks from the Vatican with wine, aperitif, & dessert that was at a ridiculously low price of 15 euros pp. We have nothing but praise for Luigi.

Livio picked us up at the port and drove us to Rome, where he dropped us at the Colosseum with our "Skip the LIne" tickets. He was professional and informative. We saw all the important sights even though we just had one day. He recommended a lovely restaurant near the Vatican where we enjoyed a very inexpensive lunch of salad and ravioli. He also provided us with "skip the line" tickets to the Vatican museum. He stopped wherever we wanted to take pictures and picked us up right where he dropped us. There is no better way to see all the sights in one day and highly recommend Driver in Rome. Livio represented his country beautifully and we would definitely choose this tour again.

We booked a Mediterranean cruise and couldn't find any excursions offered that would hit all the places that we wanted to see in one short day. We were a little hesitant about booking outside of the cruise options, but Viator guaranteed our return to the ship, so we chose this tour. Our only regret now is the fact that we only had a day in Rome. Davide met us just outside the terminal with an easy to read sign. He was so pleasant and personable, that the ride from Civitavecchia into the city seemed to take no time at all. By the time we reached the walls of the city, we felt like long lost relations. We needed to meet our guide for the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine Hill at a predetermined spot outside the Colosseum, so Davide parked, walked us over and exchanged numbers with Eva. Shortly before our tour was over, he had called to check on the times and arranged to pick us up. We had a list of places to see, but we needed to have lunch, and let Davide recommend a small restaurant off the beaten path. He took us to Campo de Fiori, where we sampled some very tasty local pasta dishes and one of the best lasagnas we've ever had, at a very reasonable price. Once fed, we were off to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona. Davide even managed to eke out some time to visit Vatican City and at least see the square outside the Basilica. Even managed to get some pictures of the Swiss Guard. The day was over all too quickly, and although there was still so much more to see, we were more than pleased to have had Davide as our guide for the day. Hopefully the coin tossed in the Trevi will bring us back.

Mateo was an amazing driver and tour guide. We got off the ship about 15 minutes earlier than our meeting time. He was waiting for us with a sign, professionally dressed and had a Mercedez Minivan waiting very close by with tons of cold bottled water.
Mateo took great interest in what was important to us, and customized our trip the way we wanted it. He was always where he said he would be each time he dropped us off or picked us up. He even gave us a European pre-paid phone to take with us and call him in case he had to move the car. Being in a foreign country, small details like this really helped us feel safe and secure.
He was very knowledgeable about Rome, knew his way around the city, and had great recommendations for everything including lunch. At our request, he took us to a place where only locals ate, and we had the best pasta of our life!
I would absolutely recommend this tour, and Mateo!
