Take the free shuttle offered by the cruise line to Piazzale della Pace. When you exit the shuttle walk across the street and look for our local agent will be holding a sign saying "Driverinrome" , in front of the Fire station "VIGILI DEL FUOCO ".

We have been to Rome twice and just wanted to do something at the port. This was a great option. Sylvia, our guide gave us a tour of the town with five tasty stops along the way!

This was a perfectly curated experience. Small group touring some of the guide’s favourite spots for authentic tasty treats. Do not eat before you go.
Laura our guide was personable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Couldn’t recommend this tour more. It was a much better way to see a bit of Civitavecchia than a large group tour. Thanks Laura!

The food tastings were delicious! Don’t eat before you go. Silvia was great. The description does not match the places we went to but nonetheless the food was good. A lot of walking & there really wasn’t a lot of historical sites. Recommend doing it in the morning for breakfast/lunch, then spending the rest of your day on your own.

The website hasn't been updated to what the tour is now. We were told the wrong meeting point, and when we inquired because it was time and no one was there, we were told the wrong meeting point again. At 10 minutes past meeting time someone called and told us we were supposed to be at the fire station. Not sure why they didn't just say that in first place.
The guide was nice, she explained some history, we had a nice breakfast, then tried a slice of delicious pizza from the pedestrian area, then walked down to a wine shop for a glass of spritz and plate of cold cuts and cheeses. We then walked to a gelato shop a few blocks away for a cup of gelato.
The guide took a photo of the website description of the tour so she could look into getting it updated

Focus was on food, commentary and I info on the town very limited. Food was good but did not match the tour description. Overall the tour was disorganized and venues did not seem prepared to handle our group.

Our goal with this tour is to balance local tastings with clear storytelling and context about the town, so it’s disappointing to hear the commentary felt limited and that the food stops didn’t align with the description. I also apologize for the feeling of disorganization and for any venues not being properly prepared for your group — that’s not the standard we aim for.
If you’re open to it, I’d really appreciate a quick note to date. That will help me identify the guide and the venues involved so we can address this directly with our team and partners, and make sure it doesn’t happen again. In the meantime, we’re already reviewing how we brief venues for group arrivals and how we present the tour flow so it matches the published description.

The guide does not carry a microphone because she is not allowed to, so it is not easy to hear points about the city. Sylvia was lovely, but it was difficult to learn anything about the city unless you were right next to her. The food was good and it was not a bad way to pass a few hours in Port city if you were not going into Rome

Although our tour guide was lovely and engaging this is a food tour. 3 of the food stops were not included; the cioccalateria, Pizzeria offering a variety of civitanese pizzas (we received a cold inedible ham and cheese foccacia which no one ate) and the surprise crostata ‘sour cherry pie’. We tried a cornetto, charcuterie board and a gelato only.
A great little walk about Civitavecchia! A little history, plenty of food (and time to eat), a warm welcome, and an amica nuova con Laura! She helped me practice my Italian and also helped us find a bank! Molto bene! A perfect way to spend the morning between cruise weeks.

It did not follow the itinerary fully but Laura was a great tour guide and we had many delicious foods. Started with Biscotti, then croissants and cappuccino, then pizza and water, then charcuterie with wine, and ended with delicious gelato. The walk was easy and she showed us things along the way. I would have liked to have tried different pizzas as was mentioned in the itinerary. And the sour cherry tart at the end we did not get to have despite being done before the 3 hours. All in all it was a lovely walk around town and VERY filling.

Our walking tour guide was, Laura, who was excellent. She gave us a great deal of information and stories. Loved the path we took and the things we saw and sampled. She was very considerate of all the needs of the people that were all over 70.

The only problem we had our email said stay at bus station, but our guild was at fire station. The others on the tour had the right location. Our guild Laura was absolutely wonderful ❤️

Lots of walking. Very small portions. Hard to understand guide. Cold coffee. 3 people left early. Just okay.
Not that hard of a walk. Not a whole lot to see. Mostly a taste of the foods and watching the locals.

We are very happy to share our five star review of our guide, Matteo, who led us on a cultural walk and food tour of Civitavecchia, a coastal town near Rome. After meeting Matteo near our cruise ship, we enjoyed a classic breakfast of nonna and “cornetto”, a croissant filled with various creams, which we enjoyed with cappuccino and expresso. We then visited an open fresh market where the locals buy fresh produce, meats and seafood on a daily basis. We bought some delicious peaches and bananas and then proceeded to a lunch called “aperitivo” consisting of local meats, cheeses, olives, crackers and bread served on a wooden board. The food tour was capped by a visit to a popular gelato shop, Maritozzi, established 50 plus years ago. Throughout our walking tour Matteo pointed out the architectural and historic landmarks of Civitavecchia. We are particularly interested in churches and Matteo went out of his way to take us to several churches that were open that morning. Overall this was a unique learning experience for us and a meaningful, unforgettable introduction to the foods of Civitavecchia. We highly recommend it!

Cute little town on the sea. We arrived via cruise ship….it was both disembark/embark day with 5 ships in port…mass chaos. Took the local shuttle to the meting point to meet our guide Laura, who was amazing. Walk around, area information, stops to snack (hint: don’t eat breakfast!) Nice to have a more relaxed pace day with a small group after larger tours and crowded cities elsewhere on our vacation. Civitavecchia is a gem!
Our private tour with Omar was great. He shared lots of history and took us to his favorite spots for Biscottini, espressos, croissants, pizza, wine and charcuterie, and we finished off with great gelato. Omar is a very personal and leads a great tour.
Our guide, Omar, was outstanding and the food was amazing! We gained such an appreciation of the city. He was wonderful with our children and made the tour a lot of fun. Definitely recommend!

Amazing food samplings! Do not eat before. Biscotti, cappuccino, pastry, pizza, a variety of Italian tapas, gelato are all included in the tour. Our guide Omar was knowledgeable and so helpful. He allowed us time to enter some of the most beautiful churches. Highly recommend!

Fantastic tour with Mateo!! He was absolutely wonderful and all foods we tasted from the delicious croissants, pizza, charcuterie variety, and of course, the gelato!!! I highly recommend this wonderful tour with Mateo! We learned so much about Civitavecchia on this fantastic tour!!
