Our experience with Jun was absolutely incredible, offering a rare and deeply respectful window into the world of Kyoto’s traditional arts. Meeting Maiko-san was the highlight of our trip, as her grace and the fascinating stories Jun shared made the evening feel truly magical. This tour is a masterclass in cultural immersion and an absolute must for anyone visiting Gion!

Directions for the meeting point were unclear, and the GPS coordinates led to the wrong place. My group looked for the guide for over 40 minutes, even asking other guides and local train employees for assistance. This reservation provided a phone number to call if you could not find the guide, but the number they gave was actually for an office that closed before the tour began. They also did not respond to the chat option on the app. No way of communicating with the tour guide and we were unable to find them so we were unable to join. When they finally opened/answered the phone the following day they denied a request for any full or partial refund and also refused to rebook us. Knowing they have people signing up who have likely never been to Kyoto, they should definitely provide a contact that will answer at the time of the tour, not the day after.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're truly sorry to hear about the difficulties you encountered with the meeting point. We understand how frustrating it must have been to search for your guide. While the meeting instructions are detailed on the voucher, we recognize that your feedback is incredibly valuable in helping us improve our services. We sincerely hope to have another opportunity to provide you with a much smoother and more enjoyable tour in the future.

A must see experience. The Kyoto cultural centre was amazing and meeting the Maiko worth the effort. Enjoyed every minute.

The opportunity to ask questions directly to both the maiko and a geiko was delightful! Our guide was helpful in pointing out some things on the street in Gion before we met them that contextualized our conversation. Many thanks to Yuko for her demonstration of sensitivity and respect so that we could get the most out of our experience. A highly memorable experience for all of us!

We learned so much about the modern geisha. Tomonika (hope I spelled that right) was an excellent tour guide and a good interpreter. The tea ceremony and dances were on my bucket list and never dreamed that I would be able to do it in such a small private party. Thank you for the opportunity!

The tour was top notch. We went to a Tea house. We were given all the does and don’ts of proper behavior. We experienced a tea ceremony, enjoyed dancing from a Maiko, and instrument playing by the owner, a former Geiko. Our tour guide was the perfect Japanese local guide. This is the tour to do if you want something that is authentic.

The guide (Yoshi) was fantastic! We met on time and she shared so much about growing up in Kyoto and the experience she had with the tradition of the Geisha. Her personal experiences made this extra special.
The Maiko who served our tea and danced for us was so kind and we were lucky as she was one of the few who was fluent in English. She was also the same one that was on the posters in the area. Just an amazing and educational experience, I would highly recommend it.

Hands down our favorite part of our Japan trip. The tour guide was punctual, informative, friendly, and down to earth. She kept things interesting and at a moving pace. The tea house was new construction, so it was extremely clean and smelled fresh. It was the perfect setting. The maiko that entertained us was like an angel on Earth! She was so sweet and welcoming of all of our questions. She served us tea and performed a dance which was beautiful to see. Nothing like it. We hands down recommend this experience with your time in Kyoto!

This was an experience that was absolutely out of the world!! The walking was not a lot, the immersion with my maiko was beyond my dreams. The sweets and tea were great tasting. To be allowed a small glimpse into this ancient cultural artistry was a cherished memory I will never forget. I would definitely recommend putting this experience on your list. Upon my return, I will be doing this again. Thank you very much to our guide. ( can't remember her name, except "sister")

This tour was probably our favorite in all of Japan. Our guide, Tomato-Sun (her nickname) was absolutely amazing. She was informative, entertaining and spoke excellent English.
The experience with Meiko-Sun (apprentice Geisha, called Geiko in Kyoto) was second to none. We were very lucky my in that it was just my wife and I on this tour, so our experience was very personal. Meiko-Sun performed the tea ceremony for us, engaged in a lot of chatting and then performed two dances for us.
The entertainment house mother was also excellent. She was once a Geiko, and also able to answer many questions we had.
We could not recommend this experience highly enough.

Unforgettable Maiko Experience in Gion - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our maiko/geisha experience today was absolutely incredible and well worth every yen spent. The experience included several wonderful components that made for a truly immersive cultural journey:
- A traditional tea ceremony that showcased the elegance and precision of Japanese hospitality
- A guided walking tour through the historic Gion district
- An authentic maiko performance with traditional dance and music
- Photo opportunities both of the maiko and with her
- A Q&A session where we could learn more about this secretive and fascinating profession
Our guide Youko deserves special recognition. Her knowledge was extensive, and her friendly demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. She pointed out countless interesting details about Gion that we would have completely missed on our own.
For anyone visiting Kyoto who wants to experience a genuine piece of traditional Japanese culture, I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. It provides a respectful and educational glimpse into the world of maiko and geiko that goes far beyond what you could discover independently.

This experience was the highlight of my trip. Yes, it's quite costly but for the intimate interaction you get with the Giesha it's worth it. Along with Tea ceremony and 2 dances you wouldn't get any other way. I have been fascinated by the Giesha's for some time and felt very privileged to have been in their company in a real Teahouse. The guide was very sweet, bubbly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone and must do when you visit Kyoto!
