Our guide Tina and driver Robby were fantastic! Reading some of the previous reviews made us a little hesitant about going on this excursion, but both Tina and Robby quickly dispelled any doubts about the service.
Let’s start with the transportation. We had a 18 passenger Mercedes Sprinter van that was very comfortable. Robby was a great driver navigating the narrow roads getting us to our destinations. Upon completing both tours, he was there waiting for us!
Tina as our guide spoke 5 languages and was very fluent in English. She is a wealth of knowledge and shared a lot of regional history as well as information about the caves and castle as we rolled along.
The attractions were as advertised and highly recommended. Overall this was a worthwhile trip and Tina and Robby were a big factor in making this a day to remember.

So glad we decided to see the cave and castle!! It was really something to see and experience!! I am glad we were there in a slower season! Our guide was very knowledgeable and also appreciated that she was considerate in helping an older couple who had missed their bus… she let them get in ours and took them to the next stop! Nice to see acts of kindness!

Great excursion but 1 1/2 hours of walking inside cave after tram ride. It is not flat, many incline and declines…need to be comfortable walking in those parameters.

Very interesting cave tour. Train takes you part of the way inside the cave and you walk a good portion of the tour. Lots of walking on inclined surfaces.

Words really can’t explain how extraordinary these caves are. Wear a jacket or sweatshirt. The castle was beautiful and the audio guide was easy to use & understand. Make sure to check your tour meeting time the day before. I had written down the wrong time & we missed our ride. Our guide tried to get in touch with us but we didn’t have our phone turned on. We had to take a taxi to get to the caves & meet up with our tour group which made for a stressful beginning. I do think there should be a little more time between the caves & the castle or after the castle before getting in the small bus to return to Koper. Very thankful for the taxi driver who got us to the caves in time to join our tour group so we did not miss out seeing these 2 special places.

Great experience! Dress warmer than you think you should! The train ride in and out of the cave is very chilly.
Not recommended for those who struggle to walk long distances or climb stairs.
The overall experience was great and well narrated.

The caves are beautiful, however the whole tour was rushed. The train was late getting us in so We were pushed along and not afforded the pleasure of enjoying them. At the end of the walk we were told to point out the fish to the person behind us so we didn't waste time and we were told not to buy anything from the underground post office as there wasn't time and we could buy the same souvenirs from up top. Their running behind schedule shouldnt be the clients problem. They then put us on the train and left us sitting for 10min while they waited for other groups! They seemed very proud that they can push 10,000 visitors through in a day. If you want to enjoy this beautiful site don't go on a tour, take yourself and get an audio guide. The castle was amazing and well worth the visit (self-guided audio)

The caves are sheer magic and breathtaking. Well worth the experience. My only dislike was our group was too big and difficult to hear and stay with guide. Lots of groups there. Slovenia is an impressive country. Only 34 years since it became independent it is beautiful, clean, and felt very safe. Zero unemployment

This was a much bigger group than expected. It was a bus. But it was a great adventure! The castle was great but did have lots of Stairs to climb. Not a problem with my group though. And the caves were beautiful and cold. Bring a jacket unless you want to buy one

A terrible experience. Collected in a bus with no air conditioning, it was ridiculously hot ! We then had to pick up other guests 45 minutes away !
After coming out of the caves ( which are fabulous) , the bus driver was an hour and fifteen minutes late as he’s left to pick up school children from the local school !
The journey back took hours as again we had to detour to drop off other cruise passengers . The result was a 5 hour tour actually took 8 hours !!
I would 100% NOT RECOMMEND this trip .

firstly, we would like to clarify that there has unfortunately been a spread of misinformation by a few individuals regarding the tour that day. It’s deeply unfair to make serious accusations that affect the reputation of an honest business and the efforts of hardworking people.
We want to be clear — we had absolutely nothing to do with the claims being made, particularly the statement about picking up school children during the tour. This is simply not true.
The temporary issue with the air conditioning was an unexpected technical fault, and while we understand it caused discomfort, such things can happen despite best efforts. Using harsh language to describe the situation overlooks the fact that our team — including the driver who even stopped at a service point — did their best to resolve the issue on the spot.
Based on that, we would like to clarify that besides the problem with the air conditioning, you received a full tour in a professional manner as advertised.
We regret that your experience did not meet expectations, but it’s important that feedback remains accurate and fair. Broad and unfounded claims can cause harm that goes far beyond a single tour, impacting people who genuinely care about providing a quality experience.

Great guide, amazing caves and castle, but a lousy tour operator, which took away from the experience. A 5 hour tour turned into 8 due to a series of lazy decisions and poor planning by the tour operator. Unscheduled bus pick- ups and stops, bus delays (driver didnt return after lunch), and 3-4 hours in a hot (un air conditioned) bus led to a sweaty and cranky set of passengers. Apparently, not the first time, so avoid this operator and go with someone else.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the tour didn’t meet your expectations, though we’d like to clarify a few things, as some of your comments don’t fully reflect what actually happened.
The additional guest pick-up was along the way to our main destinations and didn’t cause any delay or require a detour. The full itinerary — including Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle — was completed as planned.
There was a temporary issue with the bus’s air conditioning, and while that did affect comfort, calling it “lazy planning” isn’t accurate. The driver actually took the bus to a garage during the tour to try and fix the issue — clearly making an effort to resolve the problem. Things like this can happen from time to time, and a little understanding goes a long way.
As for the extended duration, most of the extra time was due to heavy seasonal traffic — something outside anyone’s control. Even so, all scheduled stops were delivered as promised.
We also spoke with other guests from the same tour who shared positive feedback. Saying “avoid this tour operator” is a strong claim and, frankly, not supported by the facts. It’s important to be fair and accurate when making comments like that, especially when they can affect the work of an entire team.
We’re always open to constructive feedback and continue working to improve — but accuracy and fairness matter, too.

The caves and castle were amazing!
Only thing is that it was very cold so take a big jacket and long pants. It gets pretty cold in the caves. Ernest was a very nice tour guide.

Our small group (8) was so much easier (and cheaper) than the larger groups we took off of our Viking cruise. We learned more in the small group and had more time seeing and doing than the ship's tour groups. Our guide Ernest was terrific!

Fantastic tour! Ernest was a fantastic host! We were on a cruise and booked on Viator. Our family booked through cruise ship. We spent a lot of time at castle and our family got a drive by at the castle for more money. Loved everything about this tour!

About one hour bus ride to caves, 45 minutes return from castle. The caves were amazing! Quite chilly down in caves so wear a jacket. The castle very interesting, lots of steps. Overall very good tour. Would definitely recommend.

Cave and castle were beautiful. It's a bit of a drive too both and it felt like we were rushed at both sites. We still had enough time though to enjoy both sites.
Caves were a bit chilly when on the train. Shorts and light jacket is more than enough if your from a cooler climate.

We specifically chose this tour because of the stop at Predjama Castle. Other tours included just a short stop for pictures, but this tour allowed you to spend 45 minutes for the tour. The tour was an audio self-guided tour, but was very informative. It was a very interesting castle and unlike anything we have seen before!
The Postojna tour was interesting, but the tour groups are much too large (50+ people for one guide), and due to the nature of the cave the group got spread out and separated so that people at the back of the group were always having to walk very fast to keep up with the guide and couldn't hear the guide at all. We kept pace with the guide but it wasn't enjoyable to walk at the pace of the guide and we didn't get to enjoy much of the sights of the cave. I'd recommend a self-guided audio tour as it would be more informative and could be done at a more leisurely pace.

The caves are amazing, they just go on and on forever. Be prepared to do a lot of walking though. Also the castle is so well worth visiting.
