Dress in layers. It is a out 50 degres Fahrenheit.
So glad we went for our one day cruise port. The guide had a large bus and was standing next to a faded yellowish light orange flag near cyclone fence.
The bus ride was nice...she gave facts about Slovenia.
The caves are well run and if you have trouble walking they will let you remain on the open air train to go into the cave and back out. If you are in a wheel chair you could do it too...double check if they can when you onto the train. There are handrails throughout with no steps within the cave system. Smooth concrete pathways too. It is also well lit which they boast about with their audio guide. It comes in various languages.
The tour first has about a fifteen minutes open air train ride. If you are really tall watch your head on the train ride. Then, there is about a 45minute walk with an audio guide. Ceilings are very high generally and well lit. It does have some humidity. Beautiful sights to see. Well worth seeing. Handrails throughout. Then it's back on the train for about 15 minutes to get back out.
The bus and guide were ready when they said. There are obvious restrooms there too.
These were the best caves we ever went into. I highly recommend seeing them. We also went to lake bled before....but if you had to choose one excursion the caves I recommend seeing first.

If you have any mobility issues this is not for you! The description never said anything about walking uphill and down in the cave. I think everyone should know that so they know! It should have been rated hard!

Amazing! Totally exceeded our expectations Our guide Rastka was very knowledgeable about the history of the caves and the region. The caves were unbelievable! The train took us down to the main area so that we could walk around at our own pace. It was beautiful.. almost indescribable. Highly recommend!

Amazing! A fantastic experience riding on the train which had a little bit of speed but not a like a roller coaster. A good part of the tour is walking up and down slopes on wet paved walkways but still very safe with railings to hold onto. Walk at your own pace. As for the tour operator, it’s probably a shorter drive to take it from Trieste instead of Koper. Wished we had more time and went into Predjama castle because it’s different than other castles. Leave some time to visit Koper old town

As you walk on the bus, you feel welcomed. Andi is a masterful spokesperson for the Slovenia culture and also takes time to meet guests personally during your ride to the caves/castle. Regarding the caves/castles themselves, you'll never see anything like either of these. Cliffside castle has a unique history and caves are grand with a train underneath that feels like Hogwarts. The full trip was worth every penny and recommend it. And did I mention that the caves have 100 year old "baby dragons"?

We took a bus to see the Cave Castle 1st. It was a rainy day, so we were only able to grab photos. We then went to the big cave. We were able to quickly use the bathroom, buy a jacket, and grab a drink. As someone from Florida I needed a sweatshirt for the caves that are damp and 50*F. After the train ride in there is a 45-minute walk thought the caverns to get to the train ride out. The walk is up and down and can be steep at times so be prepared. The bus driver drove well, and the guide was nice answering all our questions.

The cave tour was interesting, but our group of 6 didn't quite enjoy the manner the tour was led by the guide. The guide was rushing us all the time, not giving sufficient explanation nor clear instructions. My group had to ask visitors from another group how to get out of the cave.

The tour was really good, the guide was very knowledgable and friendly! Great bus driver as well, keeping us safe at all times. The caves are a must see, really impressive. We had a chance to see the castle from the exterior and take great photos. If you want to explore the castle as well, there are other tours besides this one that offer that. However we were happy with just seeing it from the outside and dedicating the rest of the time to the caves. Very recommended!

Very cool cave experience, the only downside is that our group was told that there would be bathrooms once we passed through the ticketing area (she said there was no time to use the ones upon arrival to the site because we had timed ticket access or something) which was not accurate. It was a very long 1.5 hour tour through the cave after a bus ride and no access to bathrooms so just be aware of that. At the very end of the tour upon exit, there is a bathroom you can pay to use but this whole thing deducted from our experience because there were several of us in the group who had to go upon arrival and ended up having to wait about two hours.
The castle was interesting but not a lot to see there, literally just a photo stop. We saw this in the booking description so we were aware and fine with that but we overheard others in the group who missed that it wasn’t any type of access to the castle so just another thing to be aware of.

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The tour through the cave was breathtaking and the stone castle afterwards was gorgeous. Just don’t forget a sweater like we did as the cave can be a little chilly, however, we are from Canada, so it didn’t bother us too much. Would highly recommend!

Stanley was excellent describing a country history, climate and different region as we pass through them.i have learned a lot and got a different perspective of the country.cave tour was just can't describe as a word due to the jaws drop too low.i highly recommend a coper tour as your guide and you will not regret it.they were punctual and economical.should purchase a ticket in advance through a cave web site so that you could avoid a ticket purchase line.

The Caves are beautiful and huge. An electric train takes you in and out. In between you have a 1 hour walking tour and 3 tops with an English speaking host. The walks are on good solid concrete or up steps but are not pushed. Bring a camera that takes good shots with little light. You canNOT take flash pictures but can take camera shots and videos without the flash. It is wonderful!!!

We very much enjoyed this excursion. The pick -up was right on the pier. We were included with about 10 other guests in a small bus. The seat were comfortable and the A/C worked great which was very much appreciated. The ride was comfortable and informative. The ride itself was very enjoyable. The caves were fabulous, a highlight of our 10 night trip. We also enjoyed the short stop at the castle, which we would have like to have gone into however time did not allow for it.
Overall we we very happy to selected this excursion and it was significantly cheaper than the one offered on our cruise ship. Highly recommend it!

Slovenia was our first stop on the cruise trip. We hired this tour as according to what we were reading were the places that everyone recommended to visit. The guide was very friendly from the start and the whole journey from the port to the cave was giving us a lot of very interesting information to understand its history. The Cave is a beautiful place impressive mind !!!!! We loved it. Just be prepared why it's cold. I was reading in different places that it was very cold and some people in my family did not believe me and had to buy sweatshirts there. Then the visit to the castle very nice, I just wish we could have come in.
But it is the best tour in Slovenia!!
