Din was a great guide. He was prompt for our hotel pick up and pointed out interesting things along the route to the kayak launch. He was also our kayak guide and we enjoyed the balance between quietly paddling and pointing things out. The sticky rice and fruit snacks before and after the paddle were delicious. We really enjoyed our morning.

Take the early bird option to beat the crowds. We departed at 8:30 am, had the water and waterway to ourselves. Our guide, Chin, was pleasant. Saw families of monkeys, monitors and sea life. Five stars for sure.

My wife and I really enjoyed this kayak tour! We were staying on Railay Beach and took a longtail boat to meet our guide at Ao Nam Mao pier. Our guide was on time and easy to find. The drive to the kayak point (including picking up other guests) was a bit long, but I found it to be a nice scenic drive. The kayak location is absolutely beautiful and we were lucky to be there at high tide so we could explore more of the area. Our guide, Lek, was friendly and helpful and made sure everyone was having a good time no matter their kayak level. He also took some great photos of us and the other people in our group and pointed out things of interest as we paddled. As a beginner who has only kayaked a few times, I didn't find the kayaking too difficult, though you will have to paddle around some vines, rocks, and other obstacles. We were given life jackets and felt very safe the whole time. The 2 hours of kayaking was a perfect amount. This tour company is extremely professional and well run and I was impressed with how fast they would answer questions on WhatsApp. I requested some photos from the day and they were able to get them from my guide. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in a scenic kayak experience!

    Great experience kayaking with Lek

    conniemm, Feb 2026
We had a great kayak experience with this kayak outfit, especially with Lek. There were some things I didn't understand so hopefully this will help other tourists. We were staying at the J Holiday Inn in Krabi town. We were picked up around 8:00 am. I mistakenly thought the kayak tour began at 8:30 but there was a fairly long drive to get to the mangroves. I had also mistakenly thought that the person picking us up was just the taxi driver but it turned out it was Lek who was also the person who took us out on the kayak. When we arrived at the water we had coffee/tea and waited a while for the tides to increase (I think that is what was happening). After a while we got into the water and then did a beautiful kayak through the mangroves. The scenery was stunning and we even saw a few monkeys in the nearby mangroves. Lek was fantastic - friendly, informative, he offered to take photos of us. I think our kayak tour was around two hours. When we returned to shore we were given watermelon and hung out around before getting back into taxis for our return trip. We paid an extra 100 Thai baht for the transport which included round-trip transport. I was glad I chose this kayak trip because we only had a total of 10 people in our group vs what seemed like very large groups on other tours. Lek was great.

Probably equally good experience to book cheaper elsewhere

We booked the 8:30am half day tour and chose to drive to the meetup location ourselves. The tour operator told us to meet there at 9:30am. We checked in with our guide at 9:28am, who said we’d start in 15-20 minutes. But he just disappeared until 10:20am. There were lots of other tour groups, all with the same company “For Friends Kayak.” It seemed like they were trying to stagger the start times of all the different groups to avoid crowding on the route, but we wished there’d been more communication about this. The names I saw in the previous reviews were other guides working at the same pier, so it’s all the same. Once in the mangroves, there’s a fair bit of intermixing of participants between groups (+and independent kayakers). We were on the water for a total of 2 hours, then had some watermelon at the pier afterward. Our guide was friendly and did a good job of taking us slightly different routes than the bigger clusters of other kayakers!

A breath of fresh air away from manic Krabi. Picked up on time from Ao Nang, a total of 7 of us for this 2 hour kayak trip. It was great having a small group. The scenery is awesome, it was a really relaxing paddle through the national park. The facilities at the pier are basic, but water & fruit were provided. I would have hated to have missed this trip.

A perfect way to start the day.

    The sunset view was amazing

    Pia_A, Jan 2026
The kayaking experience was amazing. The only down side was the long drive to location (via pickup of other guests). A little unorganised to get started (one guide did it all for a group of 8), but once we got started, it was wonderful. 8km of paddling through very calm waters. Followed by a local meal.

Lek was our tour guide and was amazing! Took lots of great pics and gave us lots of information. One person was alone on there kayak and was no longer able to paddle, Lek joined him to help him ashore. Obviously the mangroves were amazing as well!

    Absolutely gorgeous, peaceful, underrated experience

    Krithika_V, Oct 2025
Cannot recommend this enough. The company let me know my original morning booking was during low tide and offered to switch me to a sunset booking during high tide. The guide was great - kind and helpful. Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful like little else inside the mangroves and canyons. Only three of us on the tour and I was a solo traveller - worked out very well.

    Great morning kayak experience

    Clare_C, Jul 2025
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience from start to finish. Our guide, Lek was very friendly and a great tour guide. He was quick to point out any wildlife, interesting facts & any guidance on kayaking. We were able to spot monkeys, lots of crabs & birds. We were in a small group of 4 people which was a perfect size. One of our favourite experiences in Thailand so far.

The experience is really good, we did the sunset 2 hrs plus bbq option. The scenery is something special and worth the trip. However when you book make sure you have high tide as with low tide you will not be able to go deep into the mangroves (if not high season, ask when is the best time). Reason for 4 star is that they were 30 mins late picking us ip (no major prob) but also had to pay extra 400 baht for 4 people for pick up (tub kaek area), this is not clear in the Viator app when you select the pick up option…). Not big deal I guess

    Response from Host, Jul 2025

Hi, thanks for your feedback that you have good trip on sunset kayak and BBQ dinner. I'm sorry that make misunderstanding about pick up . As the hotel Tubkaak sunset is situated 30 mins far away from our center of Aonang so need more time on pick up Im sorry about this. For extra transfer payment we already put on advertisement that "pick up free from hotels in Aonang area, Extra charge 100 baht each for hotels in Krabi town and Klongmuang area"

    Worth the morning trip!

    Kaitlin_F, Jun 2025
We did a private morning kayak tour. Our guide was very informative and helpful, constantly offering to take our picture and explaining the area. We were able to get out of the kayak at various points. It was very cool at low tide. We saw and held crabs and starfish and saw monkeys. On our way back in we saw many more people heading out in large groups which made us very thankful we did the morning tour before the crowds.

Hi, Thanks for your good reviews and your trips with our team on early morning kayak.

Very unprofessional and unsafe tour operator!!!

    viswajit_k, Jun 2025
Completely unprofessional tour operator !! They were only 3 of us on the Kayaking tour and the guide simply left me alone in the middle of the sea (it was only my second time kayaking). It started raining heavily and the guide didn't even come back to check if I was ok. Had to get back to the Pier by myself (which was very hard in the rain and against the waves). When asked about it, the tour operator got angry and started shouting that it was not their responsibility if someone doesn't come back !!!

    Response from Host, Jun 2025

First I'm really sorry about this trip. We pick up on time and take 40 mins to kayak point. On the group there are 1 guide , one couple from Europe, and Mr. Kampati from India total 3 customers with one guide small group and we considered for safe trip to go out under some rain but no windy as our guide know well about weather condition to make sure everyone feels safe. At start till almost end of trip everything went smoothly and good trip just only at the end almost time to be back at the pier Mr. Kampati paddle slower as he go on solo kayak so little bit behind other couple about 100 meters. The guide not left him alone just paddle in front, when he arrived back at pier he shouted to everybody at the pierincluding the owner of the restaurant that he doesn't know anything. After that the guide served him fresh watermelon and Thai snacks. I also want to say sorry for the people at the pier that my customer shouted to without reason.

    Beautiful experience

My partner and I had a wonderful time. Bao was an exceptionally great guide and instructor. Very funny, kind and insightful. Made our little adventure into to canyon and mangroves even more memorable. Would 100% recommend. Thank you! Isabelle and Jude

We did the early tour and were so pleased we did. We were leaving as the crowds were arriving. The scenery was amazing. The kayaking was not too strenuous. The guide was great. The breakfast was delicious.

The kayak point was a little farther than we expected but once we got there it was great. It was low tide so we were able to see monkeys hunting for crabs and the sunset was gorgeous.

100% worth it! Tour guide Lek was amazing :)

    Mia_L, Oct 2024
The whole experience was great and I’d definitely do it again! Very worth the cost considering hotel pick up was free from Ao Nang. Lek the tour guide was such a lovely guy and so much help the whole day! We ended up kayaking for well over an hour than we were supposed to and was very excited to see the beautiful sunset on our way back. It was a very small group, only four of us which made it feel even more special and peaceful! I would recommend this to everyone!

    Valuable and Wonderful trip.

    Yaoping_L, Jul 2024
I definitely recommend this tour. The guide was super friendly and patient in showing us the kayaking route, taking phtotos, having interesting chats during the tour. We were lucky that only two of us enjoyed the guide, that means a private tour with the regular price!

Fun way how to make your holidays memorable

    Lubomir_O, Jul 2024
Our kayaking experience was amazing despite the rainy weather. The tour guide was really helpful and has answered all of our questions. Nobody else has booked the tour for the same time so we had a private guide and there were almost no tourists in the Mangroves forest. Would hundred percent recommend!

    Amazing experience

    Gesine_W, Jun 2024
The tour was amazing. You see stunning landmarks, impressive mountains, a small cave, a mangrove forrest and some animals like monkeys or a waran if you are lucky. The tour guide was really nice and helpful. Just be aware that his English is very basic and he is just able to explain some basic things about the tour. After 2h of kayaking you get some watermelon to cool down. The tour also offers a pick up and drop off from you hotel. I would 100% recommend going on this tour if you like kayaking and nature.

Overall, a fun experience. Lots of room for improvements though.

    Pahnit_P, Jun 2024
Overall this was a great experience! The other company we originally wanted to go with was booked and this was our backup option. Our guide spoke enough English to tour us. Their equipment however is very worn down. The ride they provide there and back to your hotel was mix. On the way there, it was great. Nice and smooth. On the way back, the driver was rushing and it was really scary. But that’s also Thailand for you when it comes to the driving there. Aside from that, we really enjoyed our guide and experience. Go as early as possible to avoid the crowds from other tours so you can really take in the beauty there. We saw lots of monkeys swimming, etc. Just be mindful of them as they are known to be a bit naughty.

    Response from Host, Dec 2024

Thanks for your recommendation, we already improved and followed it. You can come back again to see in person

    Worth it.

Very experienced guide. Explained us at the beginning where and how we gonna go. We got lucky because of high tide. Went there around 8.30am. Got fresh watermelon at the end and water bottle before we started. Can recommend it.

    Stunning canyon and friendly guide

    Giorgia_B, Apr 2024
This experience was very nice and the tour guide Bao made every effort to make it memorable. He was really kind friendly. The area of the canyon is stunning, unfortunately due to low tide we couldn't kayak into the mangrove forest, which was the only negative thing about the experience. That's why I suggest to book this tour in the morning when the tide is high to have a more complete experience.

5 out of 5 if they change the transport option

    Ian_F, Mar 2024
The Kayak experience was 5 out of 5. Really wonderful experience. The guide was friendly, helpful and informative. It was a small group and we really got immersed into the mangroves. We did check tide times before booking, it’s essential you go at high tide. The kayaking isn’t especially strenuous. We have only given this 3 stars because of the transport to and from the Kayaks. It was 45 mins from Ao Nang but the return journey was 75mins having to drop others off at Krabi first. The problem is that the vehicle is a semi-covered back pickup truck. It was really uncomfortable for such a long (and at times fast) journey. We both got back with sore backs and feeling sick. It would be fine if we were still in our 20’s but we are not! Personally we would have paid more for a car type taxi. It would be 5 stars if they added this as an option as the Kayaking is really good and we wouldn’t want to miss it.
