We had an absolutely brilliant half-day tour (9:00 AM – 2:00 PM) exploring the highlights of Koh Samui with Happy Samui. With a small group of just eight people, the experience felt personal, relaxed, and well-paced.
Our guide, Ant, was the star of the show! She truly lives up to the company name, she is such a HAPPY person and her energy is infectious. She is incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much history at every site, from the stunning Wat Plai Laem and Big Buddha to the Mummified Monk. Ant went above and beyond, assisting those of us who wanted to make offerings and even helping us receive a blessing from the monk.
A highlight was learning how to say "hello" in Thai; Ant explained the different Wai hand positions, which was so helpful. She also taught us all about the local elephants, coconuts, and the many tropical fruits found on the island.
Our driver, Mr. Shane, was also fantastic. He kept us perfectly hydrated and comfortable throughout the day, providing much needed cold water and refreshing cold cloths to help us beat the heat between stops.
At Hin Ta Hin Yai (Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks), we had a delicious treat, coconut ice cream served right in a coconut and some local caramel coconut sweets (Galamare). Finishing the tour at the Na Muang Waterfall was the perfect way to cool down.
This tour is excellent value for money and I couldn't recommend Happy Samui enough. If you get Ant and Mr. Shane, you’re in for a treat!

Really enjoyed this tour, got to see some great parts of Koh Samui with a very informative and funny guide. Despite a largeish group, he made sure we saw everything and had a good amount of time in each... even with a brief, but heavy rain shower when we got to one of the stops. I appreciated the hotel pickup and dropoff as well.

This is a great way to see the highlights of Koh Samui but it is not very informative so if you’re looking for detail it’s best to have done some reading first!

Fantastic trip, although a group tour we were the only ones. Elephant Sanctuary was really good and Turtle conservation centre excellent. Guide Winn was very knowledgeable and gave a real insight into Thai culture and the Tsunami . Would highly recommend.

Fascinating and enjoyable excursion. Beautiful temples and scenery stops made it a must do trip.
Tai was an excellent tour guide - friendly and cheerful. He explained all about the temples and Thai culture and beliefs and his English was easy to understand. Comfortable air conditioned mini van with free water provided. What more could you ask? Highly recommend

A really good tour guide with Palmmy but spots visited were disappointing. Expected a better viewpoint of the island rather than a stop in a lay-by to view a beach. Visit to the waterfall should be avoided as they have chained up elephant riding which is horrible to see,

Ant was incredible — charismatic, funny, and engaging throughout the entire tour. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what he does. The views were beautiful, from the temples to the waterfall to the famous rock formations. It was a well-paced experience and a great introduction to Koh Samui. Highly recommend if you want to see the main highlights without committing to a full-day excursion.

Outstanding Half-Day Highlights Tour of Koh Samui!
I had an incredible half-day tour exploring Koh Samui’s top sights, and it was made unforgettable by our guide and driver.
From pickup at my hotel Samui Choengmon Resort to drop-off, everything ran smoothly in a comfortable AC minivan.
The guide was friendly, kind, and incredibly informative—sharing fun stories about Big Buddha Temple, the stunning 18-armed Guanyin at Wat Plai Laem, panoramic views from Lad Koh Viewpoint, and the quirky Grandfather/Grandmother Rocks. Their passion for the island brought each stop to life, answering all our questions with a smile.
The driver was awesome too—safe, punctual, and always ensuring we had water and felt at ease on the roads. This tour perfectly packed in the island’s highlights without feeling rushed, ideal for a quick but enriching intro to Koh Samui. Highly recommend for anyone staying nearby like at Napasai!

The reviews don't reflect the experience that I had. I had an assistant guide who could not who could not understand my English - and I have been told that I speak very clearly - and I could not understand hers. When I complained they told me that she had been supervised, though that was only the case for part of the tour.
I had booked the tour on the basis of the reviews. In fact it would have been a lot easier for me to just book through my hotel. It took a lot of work to arrange transportation to my hotel, which was not on the pickup list of hotels, because I wanted this specific tour. Next time I'll book through the hotel.

Great trip nice agenda was able to see a lot in short period of time. Didn’t feel rushed and also didn’t feel like there was too much hanging around at spots. Longer day that advertised ran over by two hours. Guides and driver were excellent and definitely value for money.

The tour itself was fine and guide was nice and knowledgeable but I can’t believe the tour provider is including Na Muang Waterfall where elephants are caged, chained and tortured for the pleasure of uneducated tourists. This place needs to be shut down, this is hands down pure animal cruelty. If I knew this is what we will encounter, I would have never gone. Please remove this place from your tour. Going there only supports the inhumane and disgusting elephant mistreatment. If more people boycott places like this, maybe they will finally go out of business and things will change. This was the saddest and worst encounter I have had on my month long travel around Thailand.

We would like to clarify that our tour does not support or promote any form of elephant abuse. We always inform our guests accordingly. Na Muang Waterfall itself is a public area, and visiting the waterfall does not mean that we endorse or support any activities involving elephants in that location. These are separate matters.
That said, we do not take this issue lightly. We have raised our concerns with the relevant authorities responsible for the waterfall area and continue to encourage appropriate care and oversight.

One “guide” across 3 buses left a lot to be desired. Not a lot of information shared.
A lot of time spent aimlessly wandering. A half day tour that took 3/4 of the day, unnecessarily.

Good tour with interesting stops around Samui. Happy Samui Guide was very poor and no one could understand what he was saying or explaining about stops. We asked him to speak slower and he didn’t. That part was very disappointing.
