Alberta is a very knowledgeable guide. She comes with a rich heritage as a Haida native. Her family background is something she is very proud of and shares with us above and beyond her scope and expertise as a guide. We felt that we had benefitted from this interaction and strongly recommend to anyone who wants to know more about the native Haida heritage.

We loved this tour! Alberta, a native Alaskan, drove us to all of the best spots while keeping us entertained with interesting stories about her life growing up in an indigenous clan. We saw a bear searching for salmon in a river, beautiful sea life on a beach and impressive totem poles at the totem pole park. There were 5 of us ranging in age from 26-57.

My family of five were very glad we did this wonderful private tour instead of a more expensive, larger group excursion through the cruise line. We had a great time with Jody, who was not only thoughtful and considerate in accommodating our needs, but also clearly very knowledgeable, offering insights that only a true local can. If you are with NCL, this is a must to get the most out of tour time there. Jody was great! Very knowledgeable and kind. She made sure we covered the main spots. We got to see bears, eagles and salmons!

This was my second year in a row booking this tour instead of the more expensive cruise excursions. Our tour guide, Caroline was wonderful. She made every effort to make sure we saw everything we wanted to see while visiting Ketchikan. Was very accommodating to our needs as a few of us had mobility issues as well as taking us to a great lunch destination. Would highly recommend for a personal experience.

Our guide Jamie was fantastic! She picked us up right off the ship, showed us around - bears, eagles, salmon, a waterfall, totems and even tidepools. She’s a lifelong resident and we loved just hearing about her beautiful town. It was worth the splurge for our family of four to have a van to ourselves and we will always remember this as a highlight of our Alaskan vacation. Thanks Jamie!

Our tour guide Mary was both knowledgeable and very pleasant. We had a very enjoyable tour of totem park and then went out looking for wildlife. We got to see many Eagles, Seals and Salmon.

There were five family members in our group. Many of the tour guides in Alaska are seasonal but Jody, our guide, is a long time resident of Alaska and was able to give us great insight on living in Alaska. She knows the area very well and was able to take us to areas where we saw lots of eagles and bears.

Caroline was our guide in Ketchikan. She was so friendly and did a wonderful job showing us around and also informing us about her history, family, and culture. The communication was great both before and after- we knew exactly where to meet her and she was right where we expected her to be. It ended up being a very rainy day and one of our party is not super mobile, and she took all of that into consideration and adapted as the day went on, which is not easy to do! We saw plenty of wildlife, bald eagles in particular. With this being a private tour, it was nice to get away from the cruise ship crowds and have our own guide for the day. She also was very prompt with getting us back to the ship as we had a relatively early return time. All in all it was a great tour, and I would highly recommend it.

Mary is an absolute wonderful travel host! Explains everything at each place, takes you to cool places, we got to see a bunch of juvenile eagles just chilling in the tree by the water! Mary has lots of local information, never hesitated to answer our questions and even had water in our private van. I would absolutely book this again.

Do not take this tour!!!! Walk the town on your own. The driver did not want to stop anywhere except for the two worthless stops where they could sell us something

We are very sorry to hear that you felt this was your experience while spending your day with us. Unfortunately during your visit our town had just experienced a major landslide and we were unable to visit our normal stops as access was blocked. We did our best to inform all clients during this time that tours were going to be altered but did give the option of cancellation due to the natural disaster. I believe you may have not been contacted because you booked through our third party affiliate TripAdvisor/Viator. If this was the case please contact us and we will attempt to appease your expectations. However, it is not customary for a client to write a review 6 months after their experience with our business. This leads us to believe that this review could be possibly fraudulent.

When we signed up for this tour, we didn’t quite know what to expect. This being our first time in Alaska, we wanted to explore a little bit of everything, from the rich Indigenous history to the majestic nature that the state has to offer. What we got out of this tour was far more than we expected. We got to see Ketchikan through the eyes of someone who is passionate about Tlingit culture and language, and brings an authentic and personal experience as a tour guide. We would not have been able to get the same experience through the cruise excursions. This tour is truly one of a kind. If you want to go beyond the typical tourist experience, taking the opportunity to learn and be enlightened, then this is the perfect excursion. Our tour guide Syd made this a memorable experience. She is deeply passionate and knowledgeable about what she does and personally connected to the land and the people, and we walked away from the the excursion having learned things that we would not have on a regular tour or learned secondhand knowledge from guides who are not locals. We even got to see a black bear at the end of our tour!

Excellent communication ahead of time, and prompt pickup. Sharon was a great tour guide. She immersed us in the native culture and with her family history made it feel real. Pick up and drop off at Ward Cove/NCL was very beneficial. Sharon never made us feel rushed, and she had us back to the ship on time. We asked to see Totem Bight Park and any wildlife, she delivered and even had a beautiful waterfall to see and ride through downtown. Totem Bight Park is a must see. Again, Sharon was the best!
