Exotic trip, tiring but wonderful

To visit seven UNESCO sites in a day is virtually exhausting. We were able to complete 6 due to the wise advice given by our young yet knowledgeable guide Manoj. Since he knew we were going to Changu Narayan the next day for the morning hike, he asked us to skip that one. In the end we had more time and explanations in the remaining 6. He gave us a very detailed explanation in each sites, Hindu and Buddhist beliefs . We were able to witness 3 open cremations at Pashupati, marvelled at world famous Swayambhu,etc. Each one excited us with their unique architecture and Manoj’s narrative made them even more alive. Another impressive sight was the encounter with the Kumari at Durbar Square which was specially arranged by Manoj. Overall it was a wonderful tour. The only minor grudge was the old car that we were in. But really, with a traffic chaos as in Kathmandu, who needs a great car?

Kathmandu is a wonderful place, full of historic and spiritual sites. We opted for a 4 site tour to not rush through and we are glad we did. Santos was a fantastic guide for us, providing many interesting details and patiently answering all our questions with kind humor. We had a good lunch with him and enjoyed our tour very much. Our driver Krishna navigated wild (to us!) Kathmandu traffic easily, conveniently moving us from site to site. Mount Glory is a great tour group and we will contact them again on our next visit!
