Itinerary

Your tuk-tuk driver and private guide pick you up in the morning at your Jaipur hotel to begin your sightseeing tour.

Head to the World Heritage-listed Amber Fort which you can explore either on foot, or by hiring an elephant or jeep. Your guide accompanies you to share the history of the 16th-century fort, which overlooks Maota Lake. Then return to your tuk tuk and zip over to the next stop, City Palace.

Situated in the heart of Jaipur, the City Palace is renowned for its Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, in addition to its collection of costumes, textiles, and armor. Continue to Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), built in 1799 in a fashion that permitted royal women to watch the processions below without being seen.

Your final stop takes in another World Heritage Site, the astronomical observatory of Jantar Mantar, which was constructed for the Maharaja Jai Singh. After visiting the observatory, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel in Jaipur.

This was a disaster. The guide...

This was a disaster. The guide turned up on time at 9.30 but didn't know what tour he was taking and had to read my notes. There were no tuk-tuks on hand and he had to ring for them which put us 1/2 an hour behind schedule. The description of this tour is totally misleading as it is not clear that the tuk-tuks don't actually take you to the entrance of the Amber Fort. There is an extra charge for a jeep for which we had to wait at least 1/2 an hour. This should have been explained at the outset and the jeep arranged at the outset and the jeep arranged to meet the tuk-tuks. The another annoying thing about this tour is that entry fees are not included but again, this is not clear from the information. Regarding the guide, he seemed totally disinterested in the whole process. It would be better to quote the cost of this tour including jeep and entry fees.
