This was a TOTAL letdown. From the get-go, the staff were rude and unprofessional. One guy named Eder called me, practically shouting because I wasn't there at 3:45 PM, even though my booking was for 4 PM. He said they will leave if I'm not there ASAP. Thankfully I was around the corner.
Things didn't improve on arrival. One of the staff were smoking weed during the ride. About 10 minutes in I realized I'd made a mistake. The poor horses also looked miserable and some kept running away. They were nervous and looked clearly neglected. I felt terrible seeing them like that.
I've done horse riding in Costa Rica many times and never had such a bad experience. This was a far cry from the usual warmth and hospitality. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place as they have a few locations along Jaco beach.
Find a company that actually cares about customers and animals!!

Wow, I am shocked by this comment. My company has been offering horseback ridding tours for over 10 years, and this is the first negative review we've received. The ride was beautiful. The guides were very friendly and gave us good instructions on how to ride the horse.

I scheduled the 4pm sunset ride and it ended up being a private tour. My guide was really friendly and knowledgeable of the area. He also had a great eye! During the ride we saw Macaws, sloths, and monkeys. He also took a ton of pictures (and even a video of me riding on the beach with the sunset in the background). It was a really great experience with a great guide and a very gentle, responsive horse. So glad I had the chance to do this!
