April was a wonderful guide and the company did a great job of varying the tour due to huge event that disallowed us to visit regular sites…
Downtown core was jammed with KPop fans so we visited DMZ Observatory, Eunpyeong Hanok Village and a bustling City Market.

We booked for the full day tour in Seoul, with the palace visits described in the tour - on the day of the trip, when IN THE CAR, the driver informs us all the palaces and museums are closed today - so nothing we booked was available to view. Bless her, she did her best, but clearly not at all what was paid for or advertised. She told us VIATOR knew of this 2 weeks ago- so you SHOULD HAVE put this up on the website and on the page describing this booking. We felt completely and utterly disappointed and mis-sold. And frankly we would like our money back - this was nothing but deception and fraud.

Before starting the tour, our guide always explains the situation to all guests and confirms their agreement to proceed with the tour. On this particular day, several palaces and museums were closed due to their regular scheduled closure.
Even when some attractions are closed, our guides always try their best to find alternative locations and provide other meaningful places so that guests can still enjoy Seoul as much as possible during the tour.
In the case of cruise guests, the travel date is often fixed and cannot be changed, which unfortunately sometimes results in visiting on days when certain sites are closed.
However, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced. Based on your feedback, we will make sure to clearly state in the product description that some attractions may be replaced with alternative locations if they are closed on that day.

We have 3 stops: Gyeongbok gung Palace,
Namsangol Hanok Village and the
Namdaemun Market.
The palace was rebuilt with tons of people who dressed up in traditional garbs taking photos everywhere. Very crowded. The village was also being heavily renovated quite a lot. It's traditional, but looked new. It's mainly a street, not a 'village'. This was a place for souvenirs for this tour, not in the market. We didn't know until we had to leave. The best stop was the market. Authentic with many good traditional food. Traffic in Seoul was full of stops and gos. Our ship docked far away from the city, so a lot of time was spent on the road. Maybe it's the nature of having a shore excursion and the city. It's okay overall.

The guide waited for us at the Cruise terminal even though there was a delay to get our bags from the Cruise line. There a long drive back and forth to Seoul city. We had a lot of Seniors in the group that complained the Guide waled fast. I guess the tour operator will have to consider a special options Senior citizens

This tour is not appropriate for shore excursions. We left 1h40 mn late because they merge this tour with a group of 16+ people that were staying in town. Dennis the guide was excellent but rushed because he tried to accommodate all within a shorten timeframe. We didn’t see the garde change. We had some time in the market. But with the rush hour we almost missed our ship. Won’t do a shore excursion again with Viator - too risky.

Tour timing & pre-departure information
Our tour page clearly states that the departure is scheduled for 9:00 AM with an estimated return at 6:00 PM, and that departure times may change depending on the actual disembarkation of the cruise ship.
We understand that this may have caused confusion, and although all information was provided in advance, we sincerely apologize if you felt inconvenienced in any way.
Late departure & our responsibility to all guests
Although the tour began approximately 40 minutes later than expected, we took full responsibility by ensuring that all delayed guests could join and by providing a 50% refund for everyone.
Despite the delay, the tour returned at around 5:40 PM, within the expected timeframe, and—as always—we ensured arrival before the cruise departure, which is our top priority for shore excursion guests.
Unexpected late disembarkation by the cruise line
The delayed disembarkation was beyond our control, yet we fully acknowledge that it impacted your tour experience. This is exactly why we offered the 50% refund as a gesture of responsibility and good faith.

Sadly this tour was a disaster from the start. My group of 6 cruise ship passengers was scheduled to begin at 8am and sadly we did not leave until 9:41am. Very disorganized and quite disappointing. Supposed to view changing of guards at palace but missed out on that experience. Tour Guide should have told us if we wanted to view guard changing ceremony we need to walk over to see the event. Tour guide never mentioned that this was actually happening. Tour guide spent quite a bit of time apologizing for lateness and not what we expected from booking with your Viator Company. Please in the future please actually take the tours that you are selling to us your customers, to make sure that they meet your Viator standards , as this tour probably surely didn’t. Left Seoul 20 minutes late and so lots of traffic back to ship and lots of anxiety if we would arrive back at the ship on time. We told tour guide that we wanted to return to ship by 5pm and actually arrived at 5:55pm almost a hour later. I would have thought that this tour was maybe the first ever tour this company provided because of all the problems that occurred. Bus driver went the wrong way a couple of times so we then had to turn around and reroute. Please vet these tour companies in the future to prevent further bad experiences for your customers.

Michelle was a wonderful tour guide. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. There was 1 problem...the TOUR COMPANY kept looking to acquire additional people to fill up the bus, and we sat on the bus and our departure was a half hour late.

1. Tour was to start at 10 am. Received call asking where I was at 8:45 because several people showed up early and wanted to leave early so we rushed down to get there. The tour was to see changing of the guard even though Viator had to know that it was closed on that day. We didn’t get to see what we paid for. The only saving grace was that Michelle tour guide was very nice.

It was an awesome intro to Korean culture and the city of Seoul. Just a heads up that it’s almost two hours getting into the city and then two hours back to the port. Plenty of time for the stops we made but just a warning if you want to spend more time on foot than in the bus.

Do not miss the changing of the guards event in Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. It was quite interesting and we were lucky to see it thanks to Sam Kim, our tour guide who was very helpful and made sure all of us enjoyed the tour.

There were mass demonstrations at all the top attractions the day of our excursion to Seoul, so our tour guide came up with an alternative agenda that made the most of a disappointing day. She was very solicitous and did the best she could under the circumstances. We did not get our money's worth by any means, but understand that sometimes there are events beyond our control. I can not recommend this tour since we never went to these major attractions.

Very difficult because we could not go to Seoul. The koreen pop band BTS gave a free concert so a lot of traffic and people. The agency had to offer a plan B. That was good, the great guide but it was not Seoul.
