The tour was fun to learn about the ways that they create and process coffee, and in general the eco culture of that area of Mexico, both our tour guide and the plantation owners were great !

Hector was an amazing guide. So knowledgeable about everything & so eager to take care of us in every way to ensure we had the best experience. Tour of coffee plantation exceeded our expectations. Family owned business, rich with tradition & hospitality. Tastings were great, food offered for lunch was perfect. Bring pesos as you will need to purchase the meal.

Great experience ! So informative and such a beautiful area. So nice to get up into the mountains.
It is a long day. The lunch that is offered (you pay extra) is a nice end to the tour but the food was very bland.
Everyone was very kind and our driver,Hector, was very informative.

Thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience…it was a full day! The coffee plantation was amazing - they are passionate about their craft. Hector was our tour guide and he was very informative, a good driver (road up the mountain is quite crazy). The weather was cooler in the mountains but shorts and a t-shirt are perfect. We highly recommend this tour!

We enjoyed this outing very much. Hector is a great tour guide, and very careful driver on roads I’m not sure I would like to drive myself. At the coffee plantation, Pablo gave us a very detailed tour of his family’s enterprise and introduced us to the best coffee we’ve ever had. Pablo’s mom cooked a traditional Oaxaca lunch - very delicious. Well worth it!

Comfortable walking shoes & clothing are necessary. A wood-fired home-cooked traditional meal is not included, but provided.
This long day began with ontime pickup at our acommodation. Hector was sociable & informative as we travelled along. His careful competence was appreciated as we were enthralled by the views ascending to the mountain community.
We were greeted by Pablo, the 5th generation farmer of this farm, who provided an in-depth introduction to the many steps in producing organic artesional coffee. His knowledge & presentation were comprehensive.
Our drive back to our accomodation was quiet, as we were all rather quite tired after a full day
The experience was thoroughly enjoyed by us. Latte was an absolute delight.

Hector is a skilled driver & we felt totally safe & comfortable as he drove through beautiful scenery & manoeuvred around some interesting roads getting to the coffee farm located in higher altitudes.
Pablo’s comprehensive
tour of his fourth generation family coffee farm gave us a greater understanding & appreciation of the intense labour required to produce a fine cup of coffee.
Very worthwhile trip!

A great day. Our guide and driver Hector was knowledgeable, attentive and a careful driver. Pablo explained the whole coffee process extremely thoroughly. It was fascinating! He’s mother’s muffins and lunch were also very delicious and the coffee was of course excellent! I highly recommend this excursion!

We would like to thank Javier Gomez for the great time and the really good experience we had during this tour,
First we appreciated that the tour wasn’t cancel even if the other couples canceled, so we were lucky to get a private tour with our guide, Javier.
He is really a passionate person who was able to provide a lot of history details during the Santa Maria town visit and even during the 1.5h one way drive which we loved. We had great conversation about the environment and the Oaxaca culture, very interesting.
Second, Arriving to pluma hidalgo, Javier took the time to explain all the coffee process from the seed to the drink, making sure we understood all the steps and take advantage to be in the plantation to show the traditional process used but also some special trees such as banana trees, canela tree, vanilla, etc.
During this tour, he “proposed” a lunch with the local family, it was really great experience and the food was typical Oaxaca tamales, but the point too improve was this lunch was pretty expensive for just tamales.
In conclusion, we highly recommend to take this tour with Javier as a great guide. You learn a lot with him. Just the surprise aspect of the lunch was more expensive than what we expected.

An average experience compared to others on Viator. I think Hugo arrived asleep and then we went to a food cart and a restroom (for him). Hugo is very friendly and somewhat knowledgeable. It’s just we’ve experienced much better.

Hello from Paradise
We really apologize about not reaching your expectations, first time ever since we provide this tour to get this kind of review, specially from Hugo which is the main guides assigned to do this Tour . For the good of our company we are committed to talk it over with him in order to find out what happened that date.
Once again our apologies.

Our guide and driver, Ricardo, was a joy to be with. The tour included a village in the mountains where we were able to watch and try out hand at making tortilla's and then sample them as well as walk through a non tourist trap market place. Next we were taken higher in the mountains to a hotel/restaurant that was also a coffee plantation where we had a lunch with fantastic views of the mountain side and took a walk through the area where the coffee plants were growing. Finally we went to a mountain town and stopped at a the shop of a coffee grower and sampled their product. The tour consisted of two couples from the cruise ship and Richardo. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the non beach area of Huatulco.

A must do! Alberto our guide is certified and biologist by background. He is very proud to explain the biodiversity of Huatulco and how this world class gourmet coffee comes to be. And he is supporting the local people by bringing you to Doña Alfonsina who plants, grows, picks, and roasts this coffee. Unlike any other experience. The Sierra Madre setting is unbelievable and the coffee out of this world. So happy to have met these people and see a glimpse into their artesanal work and passions. The breakfast option after the coffee plantation tour was also stellar!
Muchas gracias!!!!
