Diane is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and ready to answer our questions. I learned a lot about the early power structures and ways of operation of the early colony.

An interesting tour, we were given a great deal of information and had many buildings and their features pointed out to us. Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to answer the questions asked.
We covered a shorter distance than we expected.

So much information about the ruling government of the day in such a small area. And the history of each buildling and what it was used for was so interesting.

Sara is well knowledgeable and is full of amazing historical information. She got sense of humour too. Nice to see those old sandstone buildings with interesting facts. The only thing which we didn’t like much is stopping and trying to listen on a place that has no shade or shelter as it was quite a warm day on that day. Overall, the tour was good and glad we booked it.

Delving into the early history of Hobart and its settlers.
A lot I did not know even though I live in the Hobart region.

We had a lovely tour group. So much so we went to the pub and had a drink upon completion and then went on with one of the other couples onto another venue. Our tour guide was lovely, Dave. Passionate about the subject and really personable. Two little negatives as I have a travel background is that he left without three group members who fortunately found us and I feel it needed to be a little more structured in both the information provided and the route we took. He did mention he was quite new to it so it wasn’t an issue to us but did feel it was to others.

Walking through St David's Park and learning about the history of the monuments and memorial wall that was constructed using the old head stones

Very informative. It was nice to spend a sunny afternoon walking around the area of the first settlement of Hobart. Brendan our tour guide was a wealth of knowledge. If you’re a history buff this is worth doing.

Saw some beautiful buildings, learnt about their history, but missed some of the talk as the guide was talking to the building, not facing the group.
Response from Host, Mar 2022

We walked around the harbor and heard about very early settlement in Hobart. The stories were really interesting and gave us an idea of what it might have been like. We were shown older buildings and were able to enter two that were fun for very different reasons. We felt it was good value and a great way to be introduced to early Hobart and her characters.

An excellent way to get your bearings around Hobart and learn about its history.

Hi!. We had the most wonderful 4 days in Hobart and very much enjoyed our Hobart Historic Walking Tour. However, My husband and I were a little surprised that no mention of the original inhabitants of Hobart was made in any context during the 90 minute tour? An acknowledgement/reference during the introduction would have sufficed to alert visitors that the settlers did not arrive to an empty island.
This is not political correctness but historical fact.

Very knowledgable guide and a great way to experience the history and architecture of Hobart.

This 90 minute walking tour, with a group of just 5 of us, was conducted at a sensible pace and gave a good overview of the city's history. The guide was interesting and knowledgeable, also considerate to the needs of the partially sited member of our group. Thoroughly recommended.
