Guide was totally inexperienced and could not tell us about different buildings etc in the city or even tell us what the buildings were. He talked about himself most of the time, FaceTimed with his mother-in-law, and took a few smoke breaks while we waited for him. I think he was basically a nice person but is not qualified to be a guide in Helsinki - now does he understand the professionalism required of a guide. Basically a waste of time and money.

Elena met us promptly at our hotel, which was a plus as it was our first day in Helsinki. She to places to understand the Finnland culture and popularity of its specialties. She had us taste many free items, unique liquorice candies, grilled fish, bear & reindeer meat, cheese with cloudberry jam, spruce sprout juice. As well as store with black/white flower items representing the locals. Saw major sites with historical info

First off, our captain announced over the ship PA that a storm was brewing near Helsinki at the port may not let us dock. I had one bar of cell service and texted our guide.
He answered right away to keep him posted and we can adjust our meeting time as necessary.
The weather wasn’t as bad and last as long so we docked about an hour late. Our guide said “no problem, we can meet when you’re off ship”
Meeting Lukas, our tour guide was like meeting a friend. He was so pleasant and easy to talk with. I’m a person full of questions and he knew the answers to anything I through at him.
Lukas gave us a great tour and showed us things we would have missed if we were on our own.
He asked questions about our interests and made sure he took us to sites of interest to our visit.
I can’t praise him enough for the time he spent with us and even walked us to exactly where we needed to be to catch our shuttle back to the ship.
100% satisfied with this tour and guide.

We chose the four hour tour and it was a really enjoyable walk. Elena was very knowledgeable and made sure we saw all the prominent sites in the city. She also made sure we got to taste all the delicacies like reindeer, bear, and cinnamon rolls! The walking pace was good.

Our tour guide, Elena, met us near the cruise terminal and we walked through downtown into the main touristy areas. She was very knowledgeable about the city, way of life, and the buildings even though she was not originally from Finland. She left us in the Espa area at the end of our 2 hour tour and we went back to the port ourselves after spending time on our own. Elena made some suggestions about where we could go. The salmon soup and cinnamon buns are both terrific here! Oodi Library is different than any library we've seen in the US. Visit the original Fazer candy store and go for a drink (or just the view) at the rooftop of the Torni Hotel.
