We really enjoyed our whale watching thanks to a very frisky baby humpback who performed acrobatics for us for 30 minutes. Its mother was very chill as she kept an eye on us. She didn’t do any “tricks” but it was cool to just be near her seeing and hearing her breathe and dive. Her size was mind boggling. We saw other spouts and a mother/calf pair for a short while. It would always be nice to see more whales, but it’s always a crapshoot when you’re dealing with wild animals. I was excited to have seen the baby breach, spy hop, flap its tail and do cartwheels with its tail. The boat was very large and fortunately there were only 20 people on board so there was plenty of room to move around to get a better view of the whales. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The trip was a good value for our dollar.

Patience is needed and the reward is great. Rosalie and Jamie were wonderful sea biologists guiding our trip.

We had a wonderful time on this tour. While the boat we went on probably would have easily held 50 customers, there were only 4 of us on the tour. The crew went out of their way to make us comfortable on this large catamaran with dual 250's driving it. Took about 30 minutes to get out to Salt Cay where the whales reside during late winter to early spring each year. The first pod we came up on was a mom and her calf. Spent about 40 minutes watching mom teach her calf how to fin slap and jump. Just amazing. We then moved on to another pad of three BIG males just swimming and diving around the boat. From there we moved around the Cay for an onshore pit stop and had some refreshment and the boat crew made a Conch salad dish from Conchs picked out of the water earlier in the cruise. Interesting to watch Angelo getting the conch out of the shell and showing us how to strip off the non eatable parts. The boat captain meanwhile was cutting up onion and peppers and adding his special combo of spices and dressing to the salad. Yummy even though I don't care for seafood. Back to the whale watch and eventually back to the boat after about 4 hours on the water. A great experience seeing these big mammals in their natural environment. Ocean Vibes is the tour operator and I would recommend this vendor over some of the others because of the size of the boat other operators use small boat This one was easy to get in and out of and much smoother ride to the whales that the small boats. Crew knew there stuff and were very personable.
