**A Fun & Authentic Pottery Workshop in Cappadocia** I had the absolute pleasure of participating in a pottery-making workshop with a family that has been perfecting their craft for over 300 years! The experience was so much fun and incredibly unique. Our instructor was a talented 23-year-old granddaughter of the eldest family member, who has been practicing the art for more than 13 years. She guided us through the entire process, starting with a demonstration of the techniques and then offering one-on-one support as we crafted our own pieces. She made it look so easy, but I quickly realized how much skill is involved! Luckily, she was patient and helpful, ensuring that my piece turned out perfectly in the end. The highlight of the experience was when we got to tour their home gallery. The pieces on display were absolutely stunning—some so exquisite, they could have been priceless. To my surprise, we were offered a 50% discount on any item we liked after the workshop! Needless to say, I walked away with a couple of beautiful pieces that I’ll cherish. All in all, it was such a fun and hands-on experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. It was the perfect mix of learning, creativity, and culture, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a few hours.

It was a great experience but the amount of time we actually got to do pottery was like 1 min. Wished we had more time doing pottery and got to select our own designs.

I booked it for myself and my sister. We were so excited to try it, experience what working with clay feels like. We traveled from from Cavusin, arrived little bit early. They didn’t ask for booking confirmation or tickets I had on my phone. Took us right in and after talking to each other in their language, one of them finally told us he will guide us through. So we followed him. He told us a little bit of history and what role clay plays in Turkish culture, that was pretty interesting. After, he invited us in clay making room, we were told that only one of us could try to make something with clay. Then I told them that I paid for two people and both of us supposed to get clay experience. He said “okay”. Another man walked in greeted us and said he is rush, so we gotta hurry up. We didn’t enjoy our experience as much, as we felt rushed through the process. We were all done in 10 minutes!!! Everything that Viator says included in the purchase wasn’t the case. At the end they just tried to sell pretty expensive pieces which were beautiful, but we didn’t go there for that. We just wanted to experience clay making, needles to say we left disappointed and won’t recommend this place. Go elsewhere.

This was actually a nice "shop" They gave us an introduction to pottery, showed us around their workshop and how they make the designs, kids got to try shaping some pottery from clay, but we could not take the kids handywork home because it is a long process to dry and cook the clay. Then you could buy something from their shop. The shop had items ranging from 10 TRY to 3 million TRY with everyday house hold items to designer pieces.

Tarkan is an exceptional guide. He passed on to us with passion, kindness and great kindness the techniques as well as the history of Cappadocia pottery. The studio is beautiful, and the works on display are just as beautiful. We had the chance to try to make our own pottery, then paint on specially designed supports. We had an absolutely wonderful time, both rewarding and friendly. A huge thank you, Tarkan, for this wonderful experience.
