Itinerary
Your Glasgow shore excursion begins with a morning pickup from Greenock Cruise Port. Meet your guide and board an air-conditioned coach for a short ride through the rugged Scottish countryside to Stirling.
Your first stop is Stirling Castle, a critical medieval stronghold and former residence of Scottish royals, including Mary, Queen of Scots. With your free time here, stroll the grounds and snap photos, or purchase an optional interior tour and see some of the spectacular rooms, including the Great Hall and James V’s Palace. Learn about the site’s colorful history, riddled with battles such as the Battle of Stirling Bridge, led by the legendary William Wallace. Then continue to Doune Castle for another unique photo opportunity.
Afterwards, head into the wild country, coursing through rolling hills and green pastures to Kilmahog at the edge of Trossachs National Park. As your coach travels through the Highlands, admire the views and keep an eye open for "wee hairy coos" (Highland cattle).
Your expert guide narrates the journey through Trossachs National Park, giving historical context to the present-day surroundings, such as the charming village of Aberfoyle, nestled in the forest. Explore the town and grab some lunch (own expense) before heading to Loch Lomond, the last stop on your trip. Stroll on the banks of this tranquil lake and buy yourself a dram of local whisky.
Your full-day trip concludes with a return service to Greenock port, arriving by evening.

Driver cum guide and tour was nice n informative but could be better if there was an additional guide as well. As there were 2 buses at pickup for same excursion there was confusion n miscommunication between the drivers causing our wheelchair to be left behind at the pickup. Luckily it was still there when we returned to the pickup point outside cruise port gate! Driver did get us a wheelchair at Stirling Castle but we didn't have one at the other stops. Would have been better had we have our wheelchair with us. Otherwise driver was very helpful n provided good information/ history of places covered on excursion .

Thank you for joining Timberbush on our Stirling, Loch Lomond & Highlands Shore Excursion from Greenock. We're pleased to hear you found your driver-guide informative. We sincerely apologise for the confusion regarding your wheelchair at pickup and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Your feedback will help us improve the Timberbush experience for future guests.
The driver was great. The people on the bus were impatient. No bathroom on the bus. When we went to scan our tickets to enter Stirling the ticket was turned away and there was a confrontation with Timberbush and the ticket attendant.

Thank you for travelling with Timberbush! We're pleased to hear you enjoyed your day overall and that your driver helped make the experience a positive one. We're sorry to learn there was confusion regarding the Stirling Castle tickets and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is valuable.
Interesting stops - the highland cows was the best although a shortened stop due to being stuck in traffic on our way out.
It was a rainy day so that wasn’t any fault of the tour operator. The first part of the trip (sitting in the back of the bus) we couldn’t hear the operator also driver. We had him turn up the mic and realized all we were missing were the bad jokes he was telling. It would have been nice to hear more about the area rather than him practicing his jokes.
Andrew was our tour operator. I don’t recommend him.

Thank you also for the helpful tip about arriving on time to make the most of each stop. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you on another Scottish adventure soon.
I think if we had a better travel guide, we would’ve enjoyed the ride to and from much better. Make sure you have a rain jacket or an umbrella. The weather said it would not be raining in the afternoon and it was.

We enjoyed this excursion on 8/20/2026. We boarded conveniently at our cruise terminal. The bus was clean and very comfortable. Our tour guide, Gerry, was great! Very amusing as well as educational. He shared all sorts of interesting information and history along the way. We had sufficient time at each stop and thoroughly enjoyed the sights in this beautiful country.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for your lovely review. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your Highlands excursion and that Gerry helped make the day both informative and entertaining. It's great to know the transport was comfortable and that you had plenty of time to enjoy each stop. We hope to welcome you back to Scotland again soon! 😊
Wow! Our guide/driver was a darling girl named Ailsa. She was very well informed about the history of this area. She loves Glasgow and it shows. We couldn’t believe she was going to be both guide and driver.
The tour was exactly as described with plenty of time at each stop. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Our trip to Stirling Castle was excellent. We had an excellent driver/tour guide who had great insight of the country and culture and brought us to a nice place where we had lunch and relaxed,
It was easy to find Timberbush after exiting the ship. Wee Davey was great. He was also quite knowledgeable and he shared a lot of history while driving our bus. We had a great time.
If you appreciate the marvels of mother nature, this is it. Such a beautiful drive through the country. Jerry is a delight. Thank you to Jerry and the driver. 🤩
Our driver Jack was also the tour guide who gave us more information that we knew which was amazing his driving was skillful we had such a good time and many many laughs I recommend this for anybody that wants to see the Highlands

Thank you for your lovely review! We're delighted to hear you had such a great time exploring the Highlands on your shore excursion. Jack's storytelling, knowledge, and skill behind the wheel make him a fantastic guide, and we'll be sure to pass on your kind words. We're especially pleased to hear there were plenty of laughs along the way. Thank you for recommending Timberbush! 😊
Our day is the western Scottish Highlands was amazing! Tom, our driver, and Jerry, our guide, were absolutely amazing!! I wish we would’ve had more time for Loch Lomond and a better vantage point but that was not the tour guides fault, it was due to other guests. Overall a great experience. Stirling castle was stunning.
Side note: there was a mix up with our tickets to Stirling Castle that were purchased through a link provided by the tour company. Jerry stepped in for us and helped us to resolve. We really appreciated that he did that.
Greta tour. Loved our guide Jerry, he was very informative. We decided to go inside Stirling Castle and thought it was worth it. Buy tickets online for a discount. We did miss seeing dunce castle up close. Would have loved to go inside vs catch a glance on the road. Also enjoyed seeing the highland cows. Jerry even gave us some fruit and veggies to feed them. Loch Lomond was disappointing. We lost time because people didnt come back to the bus on time and there was road construction. I would have preferred to either go to a different loch or a different part other than the marina. Wasn’t much to see there. Still a solid tour and would recommend.
Great tour, our tour guide wee Davey was fantastic. Plenty of time at each destination. Buy your ticket to Stirling Castle beforehand Timbervush will email you that once you have booked. Highly recommend if you are on a cruises hip.
Great experience at Stirling Castle. Such beautiful scenery. Not a great deal of time in each other place. No time to see Glasgow. Wee Davey a great driver and tour guide/ vault of information.
We were very satisfied with the tour company's service. I booked online from the start, and the process was very simple with clear instructions. On the day of the trip, it was easy to find a driver at the pier, and we rode in an air-conditioned bus, which was very comfortable. The guide provided detailed and interesting commentary on the scenery and history along the way. This trip was very meaningful, and I highly recommend Viator's service to all cruise passengers.
The guide, Jack, was great. We did not go inside the castle, but the grounds were beautiful. Our lunch stop in Callander was nice. Loch Lomond was a disappointment, as we stopped in a very commercialized area (basically a shopping mall). The scenery was not what I expected to see in the Highlands. just hills in the distance. We did enjoy the stop to see the Highland cows. There may be better ways to see the area.
Fantastic tour! Jack was funny and informative. Scott was an ace of a driver. Stirling Castle was beautiful. We loved the tour, highly recommend.
Not my favorite tour. Partly my fault, should have researched more. Stirling castle was amazing, the stop for lunch was good, cute town with lots of choices where to eat. The stop for the highland cows was three adorable cows behind a fence, lots of tourists. The stop for the Loch was underwhelming. As others wrote, very touristy. The driver/guide was hard to understand and talked the entire trip. To be fair, some thought he was amusing, he was a bit hard to understand and some quiet time would have been nice.

Wee Dave was the most informative host we have ever had on a tour! The tour was incredible, best castle ever. Would recommend this tour to anyone, loved it.
Our guide, Jack W. was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, from the surrounding area, and very enthusiastic about his city and country. He gave us lots of history, humor, and got us back for boarding onto the ship in plenty of time. Highly recommend this tour!

I would give 6 stars if I could! Jack, our guide, was incredible! Not only was he funny and informative but he handled a situation with the bus brilliantly. The day was just amazing! We got to pet highland cows, see a castle, and go to Loch Lomond.

We are so pleased to hear that you had such a positive expereince with our driver Jack. We will be sure to pass this onto him.
We are glad to hear that you also enjoyed his sense of humour and way of storytelling and we hope this added to your overall experience
We do hope to welcome you on tour again soon!
Kind regards,

We had a little trouble finding the bus initially. Recommend more explicit instructions on where to meet. Lots of time on the bus! Stirling Castle was ok but expected more decor. We didn’t have a docent or audio tour so we were a bit lost going around. The stop in Callendar was just ok. The recommended restaurants were packed and there isn’t much to the town. The Loch Lomond stop was also just ok. That being said our tour guide Jack was great-funny and informative. I wouldn’t recommend this tour itinerary.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your message.
We really appreciate your feedback, as we want our tours to be as enjoyable as possible.
We are sorry that you found the pickup points a bit confusing. We want our tours to be a stress-free experience for everyone, so thank you for bringing this to our attention.
There is a lot that we take into account when choosing locations for stops, such as the scenery, the location’s capability of accommodating large groups of people, options for food, toilets, and space for bus parking.
Unfortunately, the main locations that visitors want to see when coming to Scotland have become quite touristy areas.
We hope that you were able to enjoy the beauty of Scotland despite this and we will pass your kind words onto our driver guide Jack
Kind regards,
Hannah
Jack W was a great driver & guide. Really friendly and knowledgable with a great sense of humour. Beautiful scenery on this tour although we were a little disappointed at Loch Lomond to find it was so commercialised rather than truly rural. This tour is fantastic value for money and we would highly recommend it.
Tour company was Timberbush Tours - they were Great. Met us promptly outside terminal and provided a great tour. Jack, our driver provided a lot of Glasgow and Scotland history, facts and information. He was a terrific driver - guide!
We had a great time visiting Stirling Castle, loch Lamond, highland Coo’s and driving all through the beautiful countryside. We are still awestruck over the unspoiled beauty of Scotland. Our bus driver wishing people a Merry Christmas and our guide resighting a highland poem (whatever it meant) were highlights of our day! Thanks for great memories! We would highly recommend this tour.
It was a beautiful tour but needed a bit more information about the Giants Causeway. Since it was only a half day tour (which was fine) we didn’t have entrance to the info center which would have been helpful. The driver and guide did a great job and took time to stop for the scenic views.
It was a very interesting trip. Gregor was a terrific guide. He was knowledgeable and entertaining.
Sterling Castle was great!
I felt the cattle stop was unnecessary, we could’ve spent more time for lunch . The village was overrun with hungry tourists we ate at the crown hotel because the recommend ed ones were very crowed. The food was good but the service very slow . We were a little late returning to the bus.
Otherwise a great trip
The driver Robert I believe, handled the bus so well a terrific driver
Wee Davie was a great guide, entertaining, funny and super knowledgeable. A great info packed day, highly recommend.
An absolutely wonderful tour made even more enjoyable by our guide Gregor who presented interesting and detailed information about each item on the itinerary. His knowledge and presentation skills gave everyone a wonderful insight into the history of Ireland. His sense of humour and willingness to assist us was very much appreciated and led to a thoroughly enjoyable day. Robert exhibited impressive driving skills and ensured we were in safe hands
