Ticket pickup at 9am was great, however, we needed to be at the castle parking lot at 0920 to catch a bus to the top for a 1020 tour. It’s a 10min drive so no big deal, but my family was still at the hotel because we thought we would get our tour time at pickup (which is what the website says). We didn’t expect it to be immediate. We couldn’t make the bus and had to walk up the mountain to the top (30min walk for young/fit). We got there just as our tour (1020) started. Overall, neuschwanstein is gorgeous, the tour is great, the views are breathtaking. Well worth the cost. Just know you should have your whole party there or ready to go at 0900.

Follow directions for time of ticket entry, get there early. The experience was wonderful, beautiful castle and grounds. Buying the tickets directly from the castle is much cheaper, in our case they were sold out for the day we wanted to attend. Therefore, it was worth it to spend the extra money to have the experience.

Please check where to collect your tickets before arrival. We wrongly assumed it was at the ticket office on site. Not so. We had to turn around and drive back to town. Paid twice for parking.

Don't bother to get tickets, you have to find your way through a neighborhood to pick up the tickets in the morning of the trip, not the day before. You can buy the tickets online directly- much easier. The castle is well worth a visit.

Very nice, explained everything we needed to know. Small tip, arrive on time for tickets so you are not worried you won’t make it on time to the castle (need to park, find bus or walk) we walked and it was great.

The visit to the Castle was a highlight of our trip and one of the main things we were definitely going to include in our trip. The weather could not have been any better. You will want to ensure that you include the walk up to the bridge to see the castle from that vantage point, as it is unforgettable. You do not get to see a significant portion of the castle from the inside, as it was never finished, but what you do see is amazing and the view from the balcony just outside of the cafe is another not miss portion of the castle visit. Do walk to the other castle that is on site, as it is worth it as well.

All you’re getting from the tour company is up charged tickets to the castle. And it’s disappointing that’s it’s an up charge to the tickets you could buy online. There is no extra value just a pain to pick up tickets from the tour company before going to the castle. If you order on line ahead of time it’s cheaper and much less complicated.

We booked a tour of Neuschwanstein Castle with Bavarian Castle Tour through Viator. It was easy to do and we received instructions for how to pick up the tickets a couple of days before the tour.
When we arrived at the location, it was easy to park our car. We met Lahdo, who gave us our tickets and a map. He told us where and how much it would be to park, how much the bus ride to the bridge and where to catch it. He was patient and made the process much easier than if we had booked the tickets from the website and tried to figure it out on our own. We highly recommend Bavarian Castle Tour.

Person who gave us our tickets was very kind, spoke English to me. Easy to find stayed at the City Hotel Fussen only three blocks to walk to place and easy to get to reception. If you are in Fussen both places listed here Hotel and Viator ticket pick up are next to Bus station. Very easy access to use bus to Neuschwanstein.

The tour of Neuschwanstein Castle was wonderful although you MUST BE ON TIME or they will not let you in past or before you tour time.. The views from the castle and grounds were spectacular.

You had to travel to a youth hostel on day of visit two hours beforehand to pick up ticket. I scouted it out and knew where to go beforehand but you had to find this place which wasn’t easy and ark pretty far away. Then you had to get over to the castle and figure out what to do. It was a right window. Also it killed our day because the tickets were for 11:05 and ad said 9:15. You can’t cancel if you find a better deal which there were others. They did deliver the tickets. The woman who runs it was very nice and polite and so was the man who helped her which is why I gave two stars and not one.

The area is beautiful surrounding the castle. Views are incredible. There are no elevators so make sure you are in some kind of shape or just take your time. You will be assigned a time make sure you are in the courtyard at least 5 minutes prior. They are very efficient!! The audio works like a cell phone just hold it up to your ear. Very informative but you really don’t have any opportunity to ask questions. So do your home work before you go. It truly is a fairy tale castle.

It's really important to allow lots of time to park and then get up to the caste from the parking areas. The busses run fairly regularly, but the queue was so large that we had to jump to the front with appologies to those around us. When you get off the bus, you have another 15 mins walk to castle entrance. You need to allow 1 hour from parking the car to your booked entrance. This is computer controlled, so if you miss your 5 minute slot you miss the tour - no refunds! Castle is very nice once you get inside.

It was the only way to buy tickets, as they were sold out. So, ok. But honestly, paying 105 € instead of 40 € (regular price, on the official web site), if for me too much. Additionally, I booked and got confirmation for 9,30 AM, and the ticket I got were for 11,30.
So, if you have no other choice, ok. But much better to book in advance on the official website

If I could rate zero stars I would what company sends you to a different town to pick up tickets. We lost £170, we turned up at the castle and had to pick up tickets :20 mins away, joke!
Over priced. Same tickets were over double what you pay onsite

The tour is shorter than the walk up to the castle. Our tour lasted 40 minutes with no chance to linger and admire the castle and the craftsmanship that went into building it. I understand the need to hustle in and out the big crowds. But, the tour essentially cost us a $1 per minute. None of us in our group thought the tour was worth our time. Go to Munich and visit Nymphenburg instead.

The tour itself was great and the host clearly pointed us in the right direction and gave us a map with recommendations for plenty of other things to do.
This was the only viable way to get tickets for the castle tour.
She did give us a tour time earlier than what we had originally agreed and as we weren't aware the bus didn't take card we had to rush back to the station to withdraw cash and take a taxi instead so we did not miss the tour start. So that was unfortunate and an extra expense.
Cutting it fine timewise meant we also had a very rushed walk up to the castle, having to walk (it's steep) as no time to wait for a shuttle bus as the queue for that was long and the host told us it's not worth waiting for a bus if it is that busy.
The tour itself was great and definitely take a walk to the bridge for the best views.
Also worth noting very few shops, cafes and souvenir places take card, it was cash only which our research didn't make us aware of in advance.

I’ll start off by saying the views of and around the castle are exquisite. The hike is also fun if you like that kind of stuff. The MarionBruckle(bridge) across from the castle is crowded but the pictures are worth it. The tour in the castle itself is very short and not worth the money. The description says the whole thing is 4 hours; it’s no where near that. The actual tour itself is about 15-20 minutes. What you do see is very ornate, but you don’t see that much. They gave us a listening device, took us to the throne room, and we listened to the device. Then they took us through the bedchambers, study and “singing hall” and the tour was over. The guide is just there to hit the button for the device to tell you what’s in the room. Pictures are NOT allowed inside the castle, and security is watching; I watched them stand over one guy until he powered down his phone. It’s clearly marked t the entrance, but if you want to take pictures, this is definitely not a tour for you. You can go see the landscape around the castle and the outside of the castle for free or for the price of parking; don’t waste your time with the tour.

The process was straightforward. I easily picked up my tickets from a central location in Füssen and followed the clear instructions to the parking area. The tour itself was well-organized and informative. The guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making the experience enjoyable.
While the price might be higher for last-minute bookings, I believe it’s worth it for the convenience. I highly recommend to anyone planning a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle.

As posted by others, this agent can get you tickets for the N Castle if you failed to book early enough to get them via the official portal. She also provides valuable advice on the situation and how to make the best of your visit. Do not treat a visit to the N Castle lightly, this spot is as hot as the Coliseum.
