Amir is an entertaining storyteller who provides unique insights into the castle and King Ludwig II. The tour won't disappoint, although be prepared for lots of stairs and a 4 hour overall arrive to depart time-frame.

We had Steven as our guide and lemme tell ya’ll when my family comes and visits I’m booking the same experience again! It was a really nice walk, my boyfriend and I were surprised at all we learned from the castle and how we had just enough time to take in everything. Plus the stories Steven told were great my favorite one was the one about the dragon. See you again next year!

Our guide was Caroline, and she was fantastic! She really made the tour fun and interesting. We learned so much about the history of the family and the building of the castle. It has quite a story. The bus ride up the steep hill was a blessing as it was raining, and the horse drawn carriage was so charming for the ride back down. Part of our group would not have been able to make it walking up the hill to the castle. We thoroughly enjoyed the castle, even with all the stairs! The views from the bridge were spectacular. The whole experience was excellent. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone interested in visiting the castle.

I usually am not a fan of guided tours, but I can honestly say, Steve our tour guide was completely amazing! He not only gave a tour of the castle on the exterior, but also gave the history in a story type setting. I had a great experience. The castle is something out of a storybook, it’s a must see. If you get to request a guide, definitely ask for Steve!

Our guide, Amir, was so knowledgeable about the history of the Castle and King Ludwig. Taking the tour was so worth using Viator. They arranged the tickets for entrance to the Castle and Amir walked us through the process

Bring a rain jacket or umbrella, it was pouring rain but still beautiful. Loved our tour guide, he gave us so much history.

It was great, worked out perfect, got in early and saw everything we wanted to, got great pics , do this tour as early as you can in the morning, and our guide was great.

We had a great guide, Steohen. He’s very knowledgeable and interesting. There’s lots of up and down hills..it’s not all the difficult, but you need comfortable walking shoes.

Great guided tour with Stephen Wendell …. He gave lots of great historical details and context of the castle and the people who built it, Bavarian history.
For the cost of the bus ride up to Marienbrucke, horse carriage ride down the hill, the cost of the castle tickets themselves (which were already sold out on the German direct website) the cost was well worth the price!

The tour was extremely interesting and engaging, well-organized and smooth.
The tour guide, Steven, was knowledgeable and engaging. He brought the story of Ludwig to life.

This was a great tour. Stephen our tour guide was amazing. He really had studied a lot of things to be a great guide. Wed book with him again on any tour it rained but that actually made the pictures very cool with the misty clouds.

It was very well organized. Our guide, Stephen, met us early and told us what to expect and when to expect it. He was spot on! He was friendly and helpful. Business aside, Stephen had great stories to tell us along the way. He was so knowledgeable! We highly recommend and if you are lucky, Stephen will be your guide!

Thanks to Stephen for an amazing tour. He knows a ton of history and he is from the US, so it is lovely to have a fluent English tour guide. Everything was beautiful and well organized—Stephen really made it what it was.

Wonderful tour of the inside and outside of the castle. Tour guide Steven is full of interesting information and made the day very enjoyable!

Our tour guide, Steve, was great! We met him at the appointed place and time and he did a great job keeping the group together and on track. The weather the day we went was wet, but it didn’t dampen Steve’s enthusiasm or presentation in the least. He was very knowledgeable and went into detail about King Ludwig and his family and how the castle came to be. He was a wealth of information! We would definitely do it again, especially in better weather!!

I am so glad we hired a guide because once you are inside the castle, there isn’t much information and what you see is very limited. Our guide Stephen gave us historical context along with interesting anecdotes and stories that made the experience come alive. He did a great job of shepherding our group and telling us what to expect and how to maximize the day. It was a very cold day and you are outside most of the tour.

Amir is possibly one of the best guides we have had anywhere/any place/all time. Was very helpful, reassuring and patient for those with disability

Thje guide, Steven, was excellent--knowledgeable, articulate, engaged and engaging. He added context and meaning yo the visit in a lively and lucid way.
Dana_B, Sep 2024
Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He had a bounty of historical information and tidbits about the castle and kind Ludwig. He made the tour fun and engaging. Easy transport up to the castle via bus and relaxing ride down via horse drawn carriage. Guide also took us to Mary's bridge (Marienbrucke) for great photos and views of the castle. I would definitely recommend this tour over just the interior tour of the castle (which only lasts about 25min and is very rushed).
Liz_C, Sep 2024
This tour was a wonderful way to take in the surroundings of the castle and to learn more about its history and King Ludwig before entering the castle. The castle tour is fairly short, so having some background information and extending the experience with this tour made the trip from Munich even more worthwhile. Also, the tour guide was lovely!
NickChristie, Sep 2024
Great tour, very informative. Caroline was an excellent guide.
Was apprehensive at first about paying the extra but it was well worth it.
Dina_J, Sep 2024
