VERY disappointing!! Do not use this option if you would like to see the castles. All we received were the entry tickets and a ride to the castle location. For the amount of money we spent I would have expected much more. You would be better off buying the entry tickets on line or at the site. Much cheaper. This was advertised as an 8 hour tour (all day). In fact the tour of the first castle was 20-30 minutes only. No way this is an 8 hour tour.

Great tour of the castles. Oberammagau was lovely. Beautiful scenery along the way . Be prepared for a lot of walking and climbing stairs.

This is a great overview tour of some Bavarian highlights. You are provided with a driver and tour guides at the various locations. You also have free time to explore.

a very enjoyable tour, beautiful castles. it's a full day tour, however, it's not entirely guided.
we had a nice, friendly couple for drivers. They gave us instructions where to go, what to see and drove us from one stop to another. Do not expect them to be tour guides.

Highly recommend this trip. Our guide, Augie, was fabulous. Make sure to ask for Augie to take you on this magical journey. He went to so much trouble to make sure we had a fantastic experience which we did. Plus, he is very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed all the places visited on this day trip out of Fussen.

Friendly, punctual service, dropping us (with tickets and suggestions) at the major sites. A very efficient way to see a beautiful part of the world if you don’t have your own car.

This tour was not what we expected. It is more of a hired driver. He took us to the base of the castle and dropped us off to go to castles on our own and eat lunch. He then picked us up at 1:15 and drove us to another castle, gave us our tickets, walked us a bit up the correct path and then waited for us at the van. Then he drove us to the next town for 1/2 hour time on our own before being driven back to town. So it is not really a tour guide but a hired driver. It did help us not stand in line for tickets and he was a very nice young man, but I think the description should be clearer that he is not a tour guide.

great tour inside castle, beautiful shopping below. Very strenuous climb and walk to castle, and then lots of steps, must be fit to do this tour, but worth the trip!

We lucked out and were the only ones on this tour! We were taken by van to the first castle. We were left there to join a tour organized by the castle. It was good. Climbing down from the castle was quite a hike, but we made it. We were then picked up and taken to Oberammergau to explore on our own. We then met the driver who took us to Linderhof Castle. We liked this castle because of all of the ornate decorations in it. I recommend this tour.

The tour was just ok. Had to wait 30 minutes for tour guide to arrive, then he forgot his keys. Not much comment from him nor did he really give us any insight. Basically he was a driver. The skip the line at first castle was not actually true, we still had to wait in line to get in, just not to get our tickets. Same thing for the Neuschenstein castle. Plus we had to buy a ticket for a carriage or bus to get us to the castle. We missed our slot, did get in, but there were way too many people in the slot that our audio was stating things we were not looking at. Pick a different tour. Small group of 4 and we were all very disappointment in the price. We felt like we were driving around when we could have just walked 20 minutes from our hotel and not paid 112/person. A waste of money!

Expensive but worthwhile. Would not have had the opportunity to see the Romantic Road or villages on our own. Opt for the full day tour.

We enjoyed this tour as it took the hassle out of trying to find places to park as well as knowing where and how to buy tickets. Our guide drove us from site to site stopping for photo ops and shopping. He got our tickets so we did not have to stand in line. While seeing the castles we had enough time to go through the tours and also to have free time. As it turns out we were the only two booked for the tour so it was like getting a private tour. At the end of the tour, our guide, sorry cant remember his name but he was great, made a fine recommendation for a wonderful dinner. Fussen is a great town and would recommend allowing time to visit the town as well as the castles.

We were extremely disappointed compared to other Viator tours we have taken. We were slow in getting started time was wasted by dropping the half-day people off, only for us to return and back track to the same place latter in the day. Our guide was a driver not a docent explaining the history, culture, and lifestyle. There was no microphone in the van so those in the back could not hear.

Great castles and nice village visit. I wished they have stopped at Lake. We just droved passed it, I did not get to see/enjoy the lake which was in Austria. Tour worth the money. I recommend.

The full day is a must. This ticket doesn't include the interior of the Hohenschwangua Castle so I would recommend that you see it. It is worth the extra cost. Tell your guide at the pickup place in the morning.
It turned out to be just two of us so it was a private tour. Our guide was fun and very helpful. Take the horse carriage ride up to Neuschwanstein Castle. It is fun and saves your feet. You travel through the Austrian alps, Lake Plansee, and Oberamagau. We got back at 6pm. A wonderful day spent in Fussen.

If you not have own car,it is a good choice for tour both Neuschwanstein castle and Linderhof castle in one day.

We were very pleased with the two-staged tour which Lahlo and Augie provided. Both tour guides were great. Augie spent the most time with us, as he drove us from Neuschwanstein to Linderhof. Augie also went out of his way to stop at a church I asked about Wein Church. He was very professional and accommodating as well as personable and courteous. We highly recommend anyone to experience the castle tour with Lahlo and Augie while at Fussen.

The main advantage of this reservation was to be able to avoid the long lines at the ticket office. The surcharge for the tickets a little overdone.

It rained and the tour guide suggested we make it a half day trip to the castle and he would pay our entrance fee in exchange for not doing the whole day trip. I was disappointed that this was nothing but transportation to the castle and back. While in Ireland, we had a great experience with two Viator tours. This was a real letdown.

The castles were amazing. Getting express tickets was very helpful. Our guide was very helpful, especially getting express tickets and providing information about the castles and tour options. We were confused about our meeting location and didn't expect to be the only two on the tour.

A lot to see. enjoyed this sort of do it yourself tour. You get driven to each activity but the walking around and touring is at your own pace.

I would highly recommend this tour. Our tour guides handled everything for us, and were excellent. It was nice to be able to sit back, relax, and see some of the countryside while heading to our next destination!

The owner of LA Hotel was also our guide for day trip. There was only three of us. We get ride and ticket for Neuschwanstein Castle and the Hohenschwangau .
Linderhof castle ticket price was not included in our trip or was it ? we were told that we have to pay ourselves. Unfortunately I got migraine so I was not able to enjoy rest of the trip but my kids did.

When we get back to the hotel we were charged additional Euros it probably include the cost for Neuschwanstein Castle and the Hohenschwangau . It was not good experience and we were not aware to pay extra. I think your tour description should be more specific for tour provider

Our goal was to see the castles but we arrived at the end of the day and we were not able to see them. That said we had time to return a few days later and got to see them. The tour guide made it right!
