Ive never done a Via Ferrata before but I do some rock climbing and things of that nature so I felt confident in doing this with my partner. Im not very tall either but in decent shape. With that saide… WOW!!!! THIS WAS AMAZING. A Truly breathtaking this experience. The views and the adrenaline exceeded expectations! Our Guide was super helpful and always on top of everything and very strong about safety which was great because it was our first time. I will definitely be doing this again! And booking things through him. Great Guide and Great Excursion!!

Amazing! Miguel was a wonderful guide. We continued on to the harder part with a few in our group bailing out. We've done the via ferrata in Ouray, Red River Gorge and Royal Gorge. I would say this one was a tad harder with great views. 41 yo female for reference.

Potential 'No Show Scam' setup story:
We didn't actually go on this experience because the host messaged through WhatsApp saying that there was no availability for the time booked shortly after booking through Viator the day before the activity. They were very communicative and tried to move us to new times but unfortunately none of the other time slots worked for us.
They said they would let us know if any cancellations happened in the morning, which was fine because we had 3pm activity time, but unfortunately none occurred. They said they would cancel our reservation via whatsApp message, but I never got any notification of this. After confirming cancellation (via message only), we were told that now there was new availability. We said we had since made other plans thus would not be able to attend. After we declined, they said they were "forcing a change" on other guests so we could come, which was not mentioned that they were attempting this even once prior to this.
It felt like we were getting set up for a 'no-show' scam since they never cancelled the reservation through Viator. I ended up working through Viator support ahead of our scheduled activity and getting a refund so I don't actually know if they would have followed through with the cancellation, but it definitely felt like we were getting set up for a claimed 'No Show'.
Hopefully thats not the case, but posting our experience.

At Experiences Costa Brava we want to make it very clear that there was never any intention of scamming or creating a “no show” situation. Our track record of more than 13 years of experience, with over 1,340 five-star reviews and more than 3,000 happy clients each year, speaks for itself.
In your case, unfortunately the time slot you booked was no longer available, and for that reason we did everything possible to offer you alternatives: we proposed different schedules and even rearranged other guests so you could still enjoy the activity at your chosen time. In the end, it was your decision not to attend.
As for the refund, this is always processed through the booking platform (Viator), and as explained, their procedure can take up to 7 business days.
We are truly sorry the experience could not take place and regret your dissatisfaction, but we believe your review does not accurately reflect either the efforts of our team or the way we work with our guests.

Incredible! What a gorgeous via ferrata! Miguel was the BEST and made you feel at ease immediately. He helped when you needed iit but didn’t over-coach when you were on your way. The route is impressive, and with Miguel leading you felt confident and secure. Part 2 is a lot of work on a hot day but super rewarding, and I really appreciated the pics. Taking my own pics would have been difficult to say the least. Huge thanks to Miguel for the perfect experience - loved every minute!

Guide Lorenzo made biased and inaccurate judgements on people's ability to tackle the route. He actively encouraged us at the start to use the "rest" carabiner if we were paused for any length of time, but then if any of us did try this as part of the experience he immediately wrongly assumed we had no arm strength. Under a joking and "smiley" veneer, he was over-macho and egotistical. He told my 28 year old son not to do parts of the route, who was too polite to argue, but is actually stronger in the gym than my husband (whom Lorenzo praised to the hilt), has done some bouldering back in UK, and is black belt level in a martial art. Lorenzo was dismissive of him almost fomr the start. Lorenzo told me not to do the second harder part, but I insisted and then "did much better than he expected" plus we had to wait over 10 minutes at one point whilst he was helping a young man whom he had pronounced could definitely do the second part. My other son had unfortunately picked up a stomach bug so sensibly chose to go and find a loo at the mid-point. Lorenzo accused him of being out clubbing and drinking the night before which was not true! Lorenzo then seemed to try to get all 5 of our family group to stop at the mid-point - no doubt to save himself some time? In effect he ruined what should have been a good family activity. The route turned out to be not much about climbing, or finding foot or hand holds in the rock (unlike a via ferrata I'd done previously in Austria) but simply moving along a route of metal steps, D-rings, chain ropes and even being encouraged to use the cable at times (which wasn't necessary). With hindsight, my husband and I should have argued with Lorenzo about his decisions, but we didn't have experience of the route and are courteous by nature. There was no need for Lorenzo to be so quick to judge, or to be as rude about the three younger members of our family group. We have done a lot of outdoor activities over the years including scuba, skiing and many water sports. A few more questions on his part would have been appropriate. If anyone else wanting to try this activity is unlucky enough to be allocated to Lorenzo then do remember NOT to use the rest carabiner at any point to avoid being judged as incapable!!!

We had a greatest time. We had done one in Colorado, USA but this one is far more fun and definitely little more challenging. Note: you really have to be physically ready for it. The view is incredible!!! 5 star for our guide Miguel who is very caring and show everyone where to step through out the course. Totally recommend!!

My husband and I rented a car from Barcelona for the day to drive to Costa Brava for this booking. The drive was super reasonable, a little less than 1.5 hours on beautiful and easy to navigate roads. The Experiences Costa Brava team was excellent at communicating info and details, even before we booked when I reached out for questions. The info provided makes it super easy to find the meeting point, parking, and know what to bring to he prepared. If you’re considering doing this, I highly recommend booking with this company since they keep their group sizes much smaller compared to two larger groups we saw on the route (they looked safe, I just prefer more intimate group sizes). We had a group size of 7 and it was everyone’s first time doing Via Ferrata and everyone had an excellent time. Our guide Lorenzo provided us with all the info needed for us to feel comfortable and encouraged throughout the route. There are two parts of the route; the first is beginner and offers anyone who needs it an exit from the route in the middle and at the end of it if they get tired or don’t want to continue to the second part. This is awesome because it makes this excursion more accessible to more people as the first part of the route could probably be completed by anyone with somewhat reasonable fitness and enthusiasm, with a guide of course. The second part of the route is more intermediate beginner and our guide assessed how we all did on the first part to recommend whether or not we should continue. Our whole group was reasonably fit (nothing crazy, for example I mainly just walk and do pilates for exercise while my husband mainly just walks and has a job that requires him to be on his feet) and we all carried on to the second part of the route. I love the adrenaline rush, but heights typically give my stomach butterflies, but I didn’t feel like that was the case as much this time since the route and equipment gave me something to focus on and the views were stunning. My husband and I have been on some stunning hikes and I’ve skydived, but this was by far the coolest experience we ever had. There was a point about 1/2 way into the second part where I miscalculated a step and fell, but the equipment quickly and securely caught me and our incredible tour guide Lorenzo promptly helped me get on track with the route. While admittedly the fall was scary, the equipment sturdily caught me in a quick and non-jerky way and Lorenzo went above and beyond to make sure I was secure, I felt comfortable, encouraged me throughout the rest of the route, which quickly eased my jitters and allowed me to continue to enjoy the rest of the route. Overall, I had an amazing time and would 100% do it again next time I’m in Barcelona or Costa Brava! It was a once and a lifetime experience and I definitely recommend anyone who is interested in doing it book with this company/Lorenzo!

We had the best time! The communication of getting to the meeting point was very easy. Miguel was waiting for us to get us in our harnesses and ready to go. Directions were clear and easy.
