We booked this and had a private tour as we were the only ones that evening. Our guide, Guillermo, was on-time, knowledgeable and very personable. He was great at animal spotting (rhea, guanaco, hares, tuko tulo, condors, and a very wide variety of other birds as well. His love of the country side and pride in his home town was clear and joyful to be part of. We saw an ancient burial site and had wine, appetizers and dinner at the Estancia 25 de Mayo all with a warm and cozy fire. If you would Ike to see the steppes and something beyond the national park, I highly recommend this tour.

My two kids and I had a wonderful experience on this tour with our guides Frederico and Nacho. We enjoyed the off roading opportunity to see deeper into El Calafate and the casual pace that allowed for stops to photograph animals and drink maté. The highlight was the delicious lunch served at the estancia. A truly special experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting El Calafate.

This was spectacular. We saw guanacos, rheas, and Andean Condors. Our guide (Augustino) was entertaining and knowledgeable. Lunch was very, very good. Could not recommend this now highly.

Outstanding safari! Federico was excellent and he gave wonderful information. Loved seeing the herds of guanacos, as well as many other animals and birds. Lovely lunch, Malbec and maté. Excursion just as described. Highly recommend!

Very helpful guide, we were a mixed group of spanish and english speakers and our guide was great. Really enjoyed seeing all the Guanacos and Condors. Excellent lunch at the old Ranch house.

Great experiencie for nature lovers

The whole experiencie was great, Federico our guide was very nice, patient and acknowledgeable. We saw lots of animals, plants and got tons of information about the region. Lunch made by Mile was great, as well as the Estancia setting. Would love to do the hice next time!

Safari Tour of the Steppes

This is excursion was exceptional and perfect for my husband and younger daughter who do not enjoy hiking. Cristian, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the steppes. The tour was only 3 hrs. The tour concluded with a lovely lunch, charcuterie and red wine at the ranch house that was delicious and well prepared. We highly recommend it especially if you are looking for a low activity, low stress excursion.

Excellent day tour in El Calafate

We had a wonderful day exploring Patagonia plants and animals today. Our guide picked us up at the local hotel at 9 am. He drove us in Land Rover to the mountains overlooking El Calafate. We were able to see guanacos, gray fox, hare, condors, black chested eagle, loica, and many more… We picked up and tasted some calafate fruit from the bush. Lunch in Estancia was very tasty. For appetizer we had cheese, chorizo and pickled guanaco, followed by excellent lamb stew, as a main dish, along with Malbec. After lunch, one of the guides played guitar for us. The tour ended with the drive to our hotel in El Calafate. I would highly recommend this tour!

We went into this tour expecting it to be pretty basic but hopefully fun. We were completely blown away by how much we enjoyed this safari and the biggest part that really made it the best was our guide Sergio! He went over and above to make sure we had a great time. He had a lot of knowledge of the area and our surroundings and you could tell he really enjoyed showing us around. He is also a photographer so he took a lot of pleasure and had a lot of patience taking many pictures for my husband and I and the other couple we were on the tour with. On this tour we were in a land rover jeep and toured the vast expanse of the nature reserve Estancia 25 de Mayo. We were able to see many guanacos, wild horses, condors, large rabbits, cows, and even some ostrich. The views are breathtaking throughout, we drive up into the mountain until you can no longer see the blue from Lake Argentino. Halfway through we had lunch at an authentic Patagonian ranch. When we arrived, we were greeted with a delicious red wine along with a cheese, olive and bread plate. The ranch is so simplistic yet so welcoming and cozy. There was jazz music playing on a record player while we sat and enjoyed our wine and thoughts about how much we were enjoying the tour. They then brought us a homemade lamb stew in a bread bowl - filling and so good! For dessert we had homemade chocolate mousse. Sadly then it was time to leave the nature preserve. We enjoyed our time so much that we didn't want it to end. I absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys and appreciates the natural beauty that this place has to offer. To make your tour even more enjoyable - ask for Sergio to be your guide, he was awesome and we will not forget him!
