Learning about the history of the Gaelic games was great. Our hands on experience gave us a better appreciation of each sport and the Irish culture. It’s best way to start one’s vacation. .

A couple of years ago, my husband and I were in Dublin and were thoroughly amazed watching Gaelic football and hurling in the pubs. It was nothing like what we knew but at the same tim seemed to combine a lot of skills from other sports. This year we were traveling with our adult kids who love playing football (soccer in Canada), lacrosse, volleyball, dodgeball - well pretty much anything - and this experience seemed a perfect fit. A nice detour from sightseeing. My husband loves sports and wanted to learn more about his Irish roots. As a 60+ with a sedentary job who hadn't played team sports for several decades, and who had more than a few individual sport-related injuries, my personal goal was to not be hugely embarrassed (I was, but sometimes you have to take one for the team).
Gaelic games were super interesting to learn about and the skills fun to try, and their importance for community and Irish identity will not be soon forgotten. The leaders were excellent - knowledgeable, kind and patient. The setting was perfect. And no pressure but with an opportunity for competition for those who crave it. The only way I can think of to improve it would be to add a chance to watch an actual game afterwards!
Thanks for teaching us about these very special games! With a little practice, I just might try it again!

By far one of the best things we did in Dublin - something a little bit different to get a little bit of movement in - and Elyse was so kind and a great coach! A welcome by the locals!

This was a fantastic activity and the highlight of our trip so far! The coaches Adam and Darrin were fabulous and very nice! This was a great way to learn about the culture of Ireland and the importance of sport to their island. You will not regret doing this (but you should wear proper shoe attire).

I'm in my late 40's, carrying a few more pounds around my hips than I should. Even so, I had an excellent time learning (uh, trying to remember) and playing (uh, trying to play) some traditional gaelic sports. Our wonderful coach showed us some videos, explained some rules, and then took us out to the pitch to practise drills and start playing. I think a 7 year old would have performed better than I did, BUT it was loads of fun and coach had unlimited patience and good humour. If you're not averse to a little physical activity on your holiday, I strongly encourage you to give this a try! The club is very easy to get to from central Dublin, there's a bus stop right across the street.

Had an amazing time learning how to play handball, hurling, and Gaelic football. Staff was amazing and very helpful and encouraging. Great for athletes and non athletes alike.

Best excursion of our British Isles vacation. Tiernan was an excellent teacher. We learned how to play Gaelic football, hurling and handball. We were placed in a small group for instruction and then played against each other. My husband and I are 72 and 58 years old and had no problem we are very active though. I would strongly suggested trying this...it was a blast!
