Explore Costa Rica's underwater landscape and get an up-close look at its rich marine life on this half-day, small-group snorkeling tour. In the morning, go to the meeting point in Drake Bay, board the boat and head to Caño Island. In Agujitas, Drake Bay. We meet at the Yemanyá Expeditions office at 7:00 am sharp, to try the equipment, have a coffee and walk together to the beach (2 minutes from our office) where the boat will be ready to start the activity.

Great snorkling trip, with very kind hosts and well organized! We saw turtles, sharks, puffer fish,… and dolphins and whales on the way. According to the kids the highlight of our holiday. A tour to recommend!

Great tour. Did two dives, 45 mins each with an hour island break in between, and ending with a meal together. Overall a great experience. Guides were active in pointing out the various sea creatures. Definitely got our money's worth.

Amazing day with expert guides who looked after everyones safety alongside their expert knowledge of the area which helped us see turtles, rays and sharks as well as schools of fish of all shapes & sizes.
Two completely differing snorkeling locations - a lovely break on the beach and a delicious lunch shared with everyone at the end.

The boat ride is about 50 minutes, wear comfortable shoes and drink tons of water the humidity is high and you will get sunburned. A great experience to see nature as its meant to be and, a big thank you to Maria our guide she was knowledgeable and informative. I Highly recommend this tour

A truly perfect day. Jock and Alexa were our guides and did a truly awesome job. We snorkeled two different reef sections on the north side of Cano Island and saw more than 10 sea turtles, several golden pufferfish, flounder, lobster and numerous reef fish. We landed on Cano and took a short break to climb the hillside to the observation platform. Then on the boat ride back we searched for whales and found a mother and calf. We wrapped up with an excellent lunch at a local restaurant with a resident sloth in a tree out back. All washed down with a complimentary beer. 5/5 Stars!

We had a great morning out on the water with Yock. The group was pretty small (7 people) which was a great size for this type of excursion. The day consisted of two guided snorkeling sessions and two beach sessions. Despite poor visibility in the water, Yock made snorkeling enjoyable and pointed out as many creatures as possible – we had lots of fun. Lunch was at Claudio’s and was tasty (if a bit slow).
Tip: When you are ashore at Cano Island, make time to climb up to the overlook for stunning views of the beach and water.

Looking after us .. Amazing snorkelling lots of sea life ..we snorkelled in 3 different locations where offered fruits at our first beach stop .. beer or soft drinks the second then a wonderful lunch back in drakes bay !

Great snorkeling day! Saw lots of marine life and still had some time to relax on 2 different beaches. Equipment provided was good as were the snacks and lunch at the end. Definitely recommend this experience!

This tour was cancelled the night before with less than 12 hours notice. It would have been nice to have been told by the tour operator earlier that there was a possibility of cancellation so I would've known. They offered a full refund which is appropriate in my opinion but it left me rushed in the morning to coordinate with my hotel to find another option. Lucky my hotel got me on the only boat going out that day for snorkeling and it was great! I don't have experience working with company for the actual tour so my review is really more about how they could improve their complication on the future with other guests.

Thank you so much for your review. Every review, good or bad, helps us continue to improve our service and brings us closer to our goal of providing the best quality in the area.
I would just like to clarify a couple of things for future travelers. As mentioned on the Viator site before booking, in case of not reaching the minimum number of travelers required to take part in the activity, an alternative date or a full refund will be offered, you chose the refund which we processed immediately as you say. We have never left any client "to their own" without trying to look for alternatives.
Only one company had departure that day, they had already told us that they did not have space even for one person, so I don't know how your hotel managed to send you with that company that day but I personally went to request that and another dive company to take you and I even offered to pay for a separate guide to which they refused. There was a power cut in the town throughout the night which also caused loss of telephone signal which made it even harder for us to comunicate adequately, but still, I asked you myself if there was any other way to compensate you for the fact that you couldn't do the activity that day, you simply stopped responding to our messages and said you were going to arrange it with your hotel, I'm sorry if your morning was "chaotic" but it reassures me to know that I did everything in my power to help.
Jacque was an amazing tour guide we were able to see whales as well as parrot fish
Shark and other marine fish it was amazing to see and do I checked it off my bucket list. Thank you for everything.

Great guides! The boat ride and snorkeling adventure was wonderful. Cano Island has wildlife every where. Our guide taught my son how to break into fresh coconuts as an extra bonus. We saw eels, whales, turtles, too many fish to describe, and a sea snake. If you are a nature lover this tour is for you. The company was phenomenal!

This snorkel tour was an excellent choice. I'm in my sixties & was travelling solo. Alexa our tour operator & pro diver of Yemanya' Expiditions was extremely knowledgeable of all the safety preliminaries while out on the high seas (it was a little rough) along with the Boat Captain who was always there to assist me back onto & off the boat. After a boat beach landing, complimentary snacks & some rest we headed back onto the boat to a 2nd snorkel location. This time I was trailing behind our group (a little tired) while in the water when suddenly i spotted Brandon our snorkel guide (excellent free diver BTW!) swimming back towards me & then grab my hand! Aquaman Brandon quickly towed me swimming to the front our group so I could see all the nautical life below. 2 Mantarray's Parrot Fish Butterfly Fish Sea Ambzr Jack Small Sharks Sea Urchin etc. 🤗 it really made my day. After the tour we had a hot meal included (all excellent choices) at a fabulous place ocean side at Claudio's Grill. Excellent service & cuisine

This was a great tour! We were very happy and excited to be able to see and swim with more than one turtle. We saw some small sharks and sting rays and lots of beautiful fish too. Our guide Cristian was very experienced and took very nice videos of the wildlife for us.

A great tour. We’d never been on a guided snorkelling tour before and Brandon was really brilliant and made it very special. Having to swim with life jackets was a little restricting. And the reef friendly sunscreen isn’t strong enough so it could be wiser to cover up with shirt and leggings. It was all perfectly timed, the rest periods, the beach stops, and the time in the water. The lunch after was yum. Def recommend it. We saw loads.

We snorkeled 2 places. The visibility was not good, especially not the first stop. The snorkeling was bad, and many corals is dead or way to far away. There is some few places where the corals is closer, and you can see more fishes.
We also had a little stop at a beach, where we could relax or swim. It was nice.
The best thing is, that we saw turtles, and the food afterwards was really good with a nice view.
Kids would also could do this trip, but it can maybe be a little boring because of the missing fishes.

I am sorry that this activity was not to your liking. Caño Island has one of the healthiest coral reefs along the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica and it is home to 89 different species of fish, 2 species of turtles, reef sharks and much more. Unfortunately, as we mention in our briefings, we cannot control visibility/ocean conditions.

Brandon our guide was great. However the tour says it includes lunch, but the lunch is only for those in Drake city. This is not specified and we stayed on a different beach. Where meals have to be ordered ahead of time. So we went almost 13 hours between meals. We received a reimbursement from the tour company but it was only 20 dollars. We haven't had a meal here for less than 40. Might be something you let people know on your app before they purchase thinking they will get lunch.

I didn't think you would leave this review and take 2 stars off the rating as we spoke through WhatsApp about the misunderstanding. But either way, let me clarify the situation for our readers and future travelers...
1. As indicated by the well-detailed information before booking, the meeting point is at the main beach in Drake Bay, still, we are more than happy to pick up our clients at different beaches along the coast on the way to the Island (Caño Divers Beach to San Josecito Beach) as was your case. Picking up clients in San Josecito Beach means at least 15 minutes delay for the other travelers that actually get to the meeting point. Too bad you didn't mention this in your review.
2. As indicated by the well-detailed information before booking, lunch is provided in a Restaurant back in town, so clearly we cannot provide lunch if you are staying far from town, but instead we offer a $10 discount per person which is what we pay for lunch. Yes, $10 per person because we have an agreement with the restaurant as we bring our clients there everyday.
Anyway, like I told you via WhatsApp, from now on we are going to remind every client to take care of their lunch when they are staying too far from the village, because it seems that there are still many people who lack common sense.
3. I consider it unfair to take 2 stars off the rating as there were no problems during the tour and as you have mentioned several times, you had a good experience with our team, we provided water, iced tea, a little snack of fruit and cookies, we have made a refund and I apologized straight up for not being even more specific the day before the tour about you having to organize your lunch at your lodge.
Hopefully you can get back and join us for lunch next time.
