Our 2-Day Small Group Guided Tour was phenomenal! We learned so much from our knowledgeable and very experienced guide Brayner. He shared lots of information about the secondary and primary forests as well as the wildlife. As we hiked over the 2 days his perseverance led to sightings of multiple animals, reptiles, birds and a few "homosapiens":-) Our small group of 4 people enjoyed delicious meals together with our guide and slept at the ranger station in the open-air bunk beds enclosed in mosquito netting. The station's accommodations were clean and comfortable. We ended our tour with a swim in the Rio Claro before traveling back to Bahia Drake. We had so much fun, it was the highlight of our Costa Rican vacation!

Once in a life time experience

    Jordan_L, May 2024
The most amazing experience of my life. The group size was perfect, especially compared to other groups we saw that were much too large to be able to get a good viewing experience. We saw a lot more than any of us expected and I believe this was due to the guide. The guide was amazing and couldn't do enough for us all. He showed us how he tracked the wildlife not just showing us the wildlife, his passion for the forest was evident. His knowledge went beyond just the birds and animals but also about native cultures interactions with the rainforest. We did go and see the tour guide office the day before we went into the jungle which was beneficial and I would recommend to others as it cleared up a few things that if we had got wrong could of ruined the experience. I.e. Taking too much luggage with us. Where to meet on the beach. Staying at the station was much better than expected also, so I wouldn't let that put you off. Basic but nice, better than some hostels! The staff were all really friendly. We felt comfortable, safe, well fed and were well informed the whole trip we were never left guessing what we were doing. The humidity was intense and although no one in our group struggled with it I could imagine it being an issue for some people which is something to bear in mind, 10km in jungle is not 10km in the park.

Jorge’s passion for wildlife is contagious (+packing list suggestions)

Such a great experience! We thought 1 night (2 days) was a great amount of time! The ranger station we stayed at was a lot cleaner than we were originally expecting and our guide, Jorge, was amazing! He was so passionate about wildlife and it was contagious! The boat ride to the park was really bumpy so if you’re one to get motion sick, make sure to take meds beforehand. We do wish we had gotten a packing list sooner than the day before our trip so here are some things I would recommend packing. Keep in mind, everything you bring should be able to go in your backpack since you can’t bring actual luggage on the boat! Water shoes- only needed to get on and off boat. Would recommend wearing them to the pickup location on the first day Hiking boots Towel Reusable water bottle (single use plastic is not allowed in the park) Bug repellant (we couldn’t find any being sold in Drake Bay) They recommend to pack as light as possible Overall a great trip and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see lots of animals!

We had a wonderful time with Erick, from Sukia Travel.

We had a wonderful time. The tour was guided by Erick, from Sukia Travel. He did a great job spotting the animals and telling us about their behavior. His passion for his work is remarkable and we felt that we were in very good hands.

Phenomenal, guided learning experience through the biodiverse rainforests of the Osa Peninsula!

    Winner!

Winner! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with Andre: So many animals! Staying overnight is the way to go, for sure. I loved falling asleep to the howling howler monkeys and waking up to chirping birds and squirrel monkeys. Sirena station was comfortable, clean and airy (everything is open-air), and the food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. I would suggest bringing a pair of socks or clean flipflops as your “indoor” shoes since outdoor shoes are not allowed in the station. And be prepared for mud and humidity/rain during the hikes. The mosquitoes weren’t as bad as i had feared, but bug dope was definitely necessary for me. We had a great time. Highly recommended!
