Our 2-day trip to Corcovado was truly unforgettable. My wife and I were blown away by the incredible wildlife we encountered along the way.
What made the experience exceptional was our guide, Ayder. He was absolutely amazing — incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about the ecosystem. His ability to spot wildlife from what seemed like impossible distances was impressive, and he shared so much insight about the plants, animals, and conservation efforts in the park. He also made sure we felt comfortable and safe throughout the entire trip.
If you’re considering visiting Corcovado, I highly recommend doing a multi-day tour and, if possible, asking for Ayder. It was an adventure we will never forget.

The tour was an amazing experience, we saw so much wildlife, learned a lot about the rainforest and explored the depths of this mesmerizing place. We especially want to highlight our super nice guide Erick, he taught and showed us so much, without him the tour would‘ve only been half as nice!

This is literally the best thing to do in Costa Rica. Note that there is a boat ride that starts and ends with a wet landing. There is hours of hiking in very hot and humid environments. The food is adequate but that is not what you are here for. The wildlife viewing is unmatched. Monkeys, sloths, birds so many that you couldn’t possibly renter the names unless you are middle aged with one of those $10k camera lenses, crocodiles, tamarinds, ant eaters, and so many more things. Howler monkeys will wake you from your solo mosquito netted bunk before down with a sound that is half F14 fighter half 90’s horror movie ghost scream. You guide will tell you more things about everything around you than you thought a phd in vertebrate zoology would know. Bring your own binoculars but your guide will have a spotting scope to find the high up animals. I thought two days was enough to see this place but if you are a birder you might want some more time. If it is the wet season bring mud boots and an umbrella. You will not likely see a puma, oscilot or other cat type predator because they are mostly scared of humans. The rest of the animals are uninterested in humans because there are very strict rules about no food outside of the station and humans are not a threat.

The tour is well organized and our guide Erik was very skilled in finding animals and prepared in providing explanations. The stay in Sirena station was suggesting experience, although you must be ready to give up to some comfort. The park is magical and a must-see in costa rica

Amazing trip to Corcovado! Our guide Marlon was amazing and kept us running across 25km to see as much wildlife as possible. Hot but otherwise great weather!

Amazing experience; worth every dollar and the time. Would do the overnight tour again, as the ranger station and the trails get much less crowded when people on the day tour leaves. So much fauna compared to other places I’ve seen in CR. You see flocks of Macaws, sloths, all four species of monkeys and a ton of other (rare) birds, insects and mammals. There’s no dedicated night tour included due to the risk of snake bites and the time it takes to get medical care, but there’s an early morning tour if the weather allows, that basically starts while it’s still dark outside and you’ll see the forest wake up. 12/10 experience and the best in CR overall.

We've had Mr. Marlo Chacon Sanchez as our guide and I have to shout him out using his full name because he was just amazing: spoke English very well, answered all our questions, had something interesting to say just about everything, and had the eye of a tiger when it comes to spotting animals along with some clear experience when it comes to finding the right spots.
We got to see tapirs, a whole family of coatis, a small crocodile, a big caiman, and honestly so much more than that. The overnight trip really is worth it because much of this we saw on the second day and each walk was completely different, even if we went the same route. The price isn't egregious either, when you consider you also get an overnight stay, a bunch of food (simple but really good), and so much time with a qualified guide in the wonderful Corcovado.
We've been here towards the end of our journey and it's honestly been an absolute highlight.

This is a very interesting tour to a wonderful part of costa rica. Although it was raining quite a lot, we saw a lot if monkeys, crocodiles, snakes and on the morning walk a tapirus mum with her kid just walked by about 5 meters from us. Jose was a very knowledgeable guide and we had a very interesting time in corcovado np.

Our guide Jose was a Drake Bay local since birth. He was super knowledgeable and friendly and we felt so privileged to get to spend two days hiking and hanging out with a genuine local. It was such a great experience.
The wildlife was amazing and Jose knew all the tricks to maximize our chances to see everything on our list! And we did see everything and more!

For our family of four (two adults and two tweens), the overnight stay at Sirena Ranger Station in Corcovado National Park was the ecoadventure of a lifetime. We would all highly recommend this incredible experience and, further, we would strongly suggest that you book your tour through Pacheco and request Alejandra as your guide.
If you’ve been considering an overnight stay at Sirena, you have probably realized that all of the tour groups stay in the same (beautiful) bunkhouses at the ranger station, eat the same (delicious) food in the same (clean) dining areas, use the same bathroom facilities, and— for the most part— even share the same boats to get from Bahía Drake to Corcovado. Given all of this, you may wonder if it really matters which tour group you join. In our experience, it matters a great deal. We are incredibly grateful that we chose Pacheco.
Pacheco’s group sizes are limited to six people; while we were at Corcovado, we noticed other groups of ten or more. This absolutely makes a difference when you are trying to move quietly and inconspicuously along the trails to see as many animals as possible. It also matters when you do find an animal and you are sharing your guide’s spotting scope to get a good look. In all of these situations, smaller groups definitely make for a better experience. We got extra lucky in this regard— our group ended up being just our family of four!
We also ended up with a truly extraordinary guide, Alejandra. Her insights, kindness, and enthusiasm made every part of our experience at Sirena better. When she introduced herself, Allie told us that she practices ethical guiding. She will never leave a trail in order to help her groups get a better look at an animal; instead, she relies on her knowledge of and attention to the rainforest to ensure that her groups have the best possible animal interactions. In our experience, her technique was not only respectful of the animals and their environment; it was also extraordinarily successful. Allie helped us have more quality interactions with bucket-list animals than we could possibly begin to count. We saw everything that we had hoped to see, and much more.
Her knowledge of the human rhythms at Sirena was equally important to our experience. At the beginning of our tour, Allie explained that she was familiar with the schedule that most tour groups kept during their time at the ranger station and that, by tweaking that schedule just a bit, she could significantly improve our experience. She was absolutely right. Thanks to Allie’s timing, we almost never encountered another group during our time on the trails— it felt like we had the entire park to ourselves, and, as a result, we saw more animals and had extended “private” experiences with them. She also made sure that we never waited in line for a meal and that we were the very first people to shower after the restrooms had been cleaned. All of these little details added up to create the best possible Sirena experience— and they were all thanks to Allie’s expertise.
The overnight stay at the Sirena Ranger Station in Corcovado National Park is a bucket-list, unforgettable experience no matter what tour you join. You should absolutely go. If you want to see Sirena in the very best possible way, book your tour with Alejandra through Pacheco.

It was amazing. Totally worth it! Our guid "Freiner" made it really special and let us see all the animals. An overnight is definitely worth it.
A must visit if you come to Costa Rica!
Pura Vida!

Brilliant 2 days 1 night. Tiring walking in the heat but 100 percent worth it. Our guide Marlon was excellent, very passionate and enthusiastic about wildlife and it shone through. We managed to see ant eater, wild boar, 4 different types of monkey and a tapiar swimming amongst many other things.

The Corcovado is a lovely place, the guides who followed us were very professional, I absolutely recommend if possible to spend a night in the Mermaid station
