We had a great time on this tour with Bart. Bart is very knowledgeable about the history of the island and he answered all our questions. He is also very friendly and engages the tour guests. The food was also delicious. Definitely one of the best food tours we have done in our travels!

Bart was a great guide, giving us historical and cultural information about the island and its areas while introducing us to the flavors of Curacao. We loved hearing the stories of his grandmother and grandfather’s times on the island, and we very much enjoyed all the food we tried. The tasting portions are huge! Bring your appetite and come prepared to eat a lot.

This tour was fabulous. It is much more than a food tour. Bart is excellent and provides great information. He clearly loves Curacao and is a real foodie. I highly recommend this tour early on during your trip to help get the lay of the land.

Very authentic food tour. Learned a ton about local culture and history of Curacao. Guide, Bart, was very friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a private tour experience visiting the island.

If I could rate this a 20/10 I would ! I’ve done food tours in other places and none have matched this! Bart was knowledgeable, took us to the local spots , showed us the small neighborhoods, and was incredibly personable as if you were just in town hanging with your friend . There were 4 of us in the group, and we all agreed we couldn’t handle another bite of food by the end of the day. Hands down an absolute MUST DO !

We had a great time trying some Amazing local food! Having a private tour let us go at our own pace which made for a fun and relaxing day. We definitely did not leave hungry!!

Bart was a great guide! Very informative and kept us comfortable traveling place to place in the AC of his car. We ate new and interesting foods from local restaurants and really had the experience we were hoping to have. Tried ox tail and goat! Both surprisingly good. Had the island version of Chinese (different and good) and ate that at a shaded park by the beautiful blue water. Great experience!

Really great experience! We went back to multiple restaurants we visted during this tour. I recommend doing this at the start of your trip! It helps you get the lay of the land and you get to find all the popular local spots! Highly recommend!

Bart was an excellent guide and this should really be renamed a food and cultural tour as he was very knowledgeable about the local culture. We had tons of food stops from start to finish around the island starting with a fresh fruit batido (shake/smoothie) within a 5 minute walk from our hotel. We were completely full when we finished off the tour and all the local food was excellent. Would highly recommend this tour!

Going through different parts of Williamstead in his personal car, our guide as a fourth generation local led us to his favorite family spots for local favorites. We traveled from rif fort and ortrabanda to Salina and to Punda experiencing breakfast, lunch and dinner time type meals with snacks and drinks along the way. He was personable, and gave us a closer glimpse into daily life as a local that you would never get from a larger tour group. We loved feeling like locals and seeing how his connections as a local got us the “in” at prime spots. The food was incredible every place we went, being reminded that our job wasn’t to finish it all. This tour was a memory for a lifetime that we will share for years to come.

We had a great tour. The food was fresh and we went to places where locals would eat. Bart was a great guide, friendly and personable, he will not steer you wrong. You are missing out if you don’t try the local dishes. We enjoyed the sate and potatoes so much we ordered more of it for our last dinner on the island. I teach people how to communicate and relate to others in the work world and Bart is great at connecting with people and showing you the best of what the culture has to offer.

This tour was so much fun! Not only did we get to try great food but we got to learn a lot about Curaçao. We saw a bunch of artwork and got to take the “touristy” pictures too. The food was amazing and we loved having the intimate, private tour vibe. The locals love and respect Bart. We even got the chance to be on the Terrace Plaza Sports Bar IG page to review the pastechi.
He did a really good job at tying in all of the different culture influences on the food we tried. We would definitely recommend if you are coming to Curaçao!

Wonderful food tour with Bart! So much history of the beautiful country coupled with delicious, local food & drink. Bart was a fabulous guide! Couldn’t imagine the Curaçao food tour with anyone else as he takes such great care to highlight the local food experience! Loved every spot we visited and enjoyed amazing food and drink. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the island! It was our friends’ fifth visit, and they also thoroughly enjoyed it! Bart is a great tour guide! He is a native so is knowledgeable about the island and its history, culture and food. His food recommendations were excellent giving us a true sense of local cuisine from multiple places around the island. By chance, we got to meet his two young, remarkable boys and their grandfather while they were fishing. It was a pleasant difference from taking a large group cruise tour. We highly recommend.

Our experience in Curacao was taken to a whole new level thanks to Bart. He is very well informed and knowledgeable on the culture and history, very well connected to the local shops and restaurants, and above all else just a genuinely good guide. We went on this tour expecting to try new foods, which we did, but the tour was much more than just trying food thanks to the visible love Bart has for Curacao!
We went to five food stops trying something new at each place. In between and during the stops is when we learned about not only the food culture and history but also the country. Which continued at the blue Curacao distillery. We were also able to stop and get some touristy photos!
Long story short, I would book this tour all over again just to relive the experience

This fantastic food tour with Bart was one of the best things you can do for yourself, when in Curacao. Bart is born and raised in Curacao and was great at introducing us to the culture, history and flavor of his island. He takes you where the locals go, which in my opinion, is always the best. We give this tour 5 stars, but, I would give more if I could.

This was a FANTASTIC way to take in not only amazing local food, but also local history! Bart was an outstanding guide. As a native to island he had many nuggets of information to share along our trip in addition to great relationships with local vendors to provide you with an authentic Curacao experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We have done food tour in multiple cities/countries… this one was TOP NOTCH and because it is private ( up to 4 ppl in a group) you are assured white glove treatment!
