Dive Center Scuba Do, Jan Thiel, Curacao

This was a set of two shore dives offered by Dive Center Scuba Do in Jan Thiel, Curacao that lasted about 4.5 hours. There were two dive guides along with five participants, which made for a close-knit group and lots of individual attention. The guides were excellent, friendly while also being professional --- very helpful with equipment set up, reviewing the underwater signs, and providing an overview of the upcoming dives. Both dives were high quality. The first was right offshore of the dive center and explored along and across a reef from the bay side to the seaward side. It was a good shallow dive to start (up to 12 meters) for those who haven't gone diving in a while and need a little warm-up. The second dive involved van transport to Director's Bay, where the dive went to about 17 meters along a wall of coral in very good condition. There was little current to manage, so the dives were rather relaxing. The most difficult part of the two dives was the walking with full gear, especially on the second dive where cement steps led down to a shore with rounded coral fragments. All equipment was in good to great condition. The boots that were provided were a little thin for walking on the coral fragments at the second site. If you have your own boots with a stiff bottom, I recommend bringing them along for the walking to the shore and into the water. Overall, I highly recommend this dive group and experience, especially for beginner divers but also for more experienced divers who want to get into the water on a great reef.

Fantastic Dives with Kimberly

Excellent! I did my two dives with Kimberly and the group at their house reef, Jan Thiel, followed by Directors Bay. I was so impressed I was able to, and decided to do one more dive with Kimberly!!! She showed my the impressive La Palapa site, with so many magnificent sea turtles. I can’t wait to come back again!

Seline was a great guide and made my experience worry free. Jan Thiel was a great dive with lots of color and beautiful outcrops, likewise Directorsbay was nice and provided the feel of a wall without the depth. Logistics for pickup and drop off was perfect and the pickup was a very short walk from the port. Highly recommended!!!

Carnival Vista Cruise Port

Sam picked me up at my cruise port at a local Starbucks. It was about a two minute walk from the port exit/entrance. We then traveled about 15 minutes to the dive shop. The dive shop was clean and well organized. It had clean bathroom facilities and a shower. Sam was also the dive instructor/leader. We went on two shore dives. There were three total divers in the group including Sam. We spent about 45 minutes on the first dive, which was right at the dive shop. We then proceeded to take a van to another site which we spent an additional 45 minutes in the water. It was a nice wall dive. After we cleaned up, Sam and a coworker took me back to the cruise port in plenty of time. I would highly recommend this dive shop. It was a nice relaxing time. I also enjoyed seeing some of the local sites traveling to and from the dive shop.

Fantastic dive opportunity for cruisers!

This was such an excellent adventure for my wife and I! This was the perfect excursion for us coming off a cruise ship for the day. I have to preface this with we had 2 dives booked with another dive shop and a week before they cancelled on us, so I had to scramble and I was able to find this one and I am so grateful that it worked out the way it did! First off Scuba Do picked us up right near the cruise ship so close to walking distance. We got a nice little view of the island as we drove to the dive shop. Once there we got outfitted with gear and our dive master Mariana was absolutely fantastic! So friendly and kind and knowledgeable! She explained the plan for the day and made sure we were all outfitted properly. During the dives we saw a beautiful reef system lots of sea life including eels, octopus and others! The water temperature was perfect and warm and the reef was healthy and thriving. We had dove in Bonaire the day before which is a marine preserve and I would say the dives in Curacao were extremely comparable! Overall a fantastic experience with a great crew!
