Our check-in operator will be waiting for you by the ticket booth at Knossos, holding a sign with our "Meeting Point" logo. Check-in begins 20 minutes before the tour start time. Please note that this is a shared group tour, so to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, we kindly ask that you arrive on time, as late arrivals cannot be accommodated. Your entry tickets are valid only for the scheduled time slot. If you arrive late and miss your entry, you may be required to purchase new tickets (approx. €20 per adult) at your own expense. For those arriving by car: Please allow extra time to find parking. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the tour start time.

Our guide was excellent: very knowledgeable and informative. But she didn’t simply list facts: she helped us understand the issues archaeologists grapple with, and she presented those issues as ongoing questions that are still relevant to us today. She also managed the group very well, keeping us together, staking out shady spots with great views, and navigating the crowds. Our best visit to an archaeological site!

This tour was extremely well done. Our guide spoke excellent English & was easy to understand. She presented lots of interesting & valuable information about conflicting views of what Knossos really used for that now has us doing our own research. I took more than 100 pictures & had no problems navigating the landscape as she talked, which really made this a fantastic part of the trip. Knossos is a truly astonishing place but it was made much richer by our guide. We gave her a tip but noticed others didn’t. Please, please remember you benefit from such experiences. Please tip your tour guide.

I have always wanted to go to Knossos, so this was a special treat for me. But before going I read a string of bad reviews about the venue (and lots of discussion about the reconstruction elements). But getting there, I can say that you must go to this site if you are on Crete. It is fascinating and reveals a lot about the Cretan innovations that were pre-Roman, yet somehow seem to get attributed to Roman ingenuity and engineering. It's fascinating to see work done 1000 years before the birth of Rome. Also, the reconstruction techniques are totally irrelevant to the value of the site. It is minimal, and if nothing else, gives a good approximation of what was actually there. The excavations simply found a palace that was almost 4000 years old, in a state that was completely random, due to the toll time took on the site. Finally, and I can't recommend this enough, get a good guide with a small group. It made all the difference for us. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave us compelling insight into the history and archaeology of the place (and the palace)! She was amazing! You should definitely go, and get a guide!
